  1. It means why are you and someone else comparing your cars when one is a skyline and one is a colt.
  2. arent the colts a 1.3 turbo or something? Odd question..... are you really trying to have a pissing match with a Colt?
  3. Have just checked all the wiring from the CAS to the ECU. Everything is perfect. At this stage I am pretty convinced its an ECU fault. If the new ECU works fine I'll have to find somewhere to send the faulty one for repair.
  4. Are you saying SS1pu response with 350rwkw on 98 or is this an E85 estimate? Sounds pretty impressive either way
  5. You could take it off the intake manifold i guess, but you might run slightly higher boost due to it being post cooler etc Its not hard to drill and tap into the turbo elbow
  6. Cant wait to see the lotus
  7. easiest thing to do is to pull the elbow off the turbo and drill and tap a fitting in there. Just need the tools to do it and a fitting.
  8. Might just check the wiring and voltages and bridge it out if I have to. But I think if it thought it was neutral all the time my vct wouldn't work and it definently does. Worth a shot anyway I've ordered another power fc so that I can rule out the unit once and for all. I'm pretty convinced its a unit issue because of my old power fc running fine.
  9. It's crossed my mind many times, But I'm set up to tune the Power FC and I like having the hand controller. Was considering a link, but I've been pretty happy with the old Power FC, and the new one is great apart from this timing issue
  10. Head will have to come off Cam's will have to come out as will lifters then should be able to take it to an engine builder and they can remove the valve retainers then the valves. Or just take the whole head to an engine builder
  11. Well.... that might not necessarily work. I have a Power FC already (Old Version 2.20E) which works fine. This is half the reason why I think the new one is faulty, but at the same time who knows what they have done with the program, might be more sensitve to something in the new one when compared to the old one. I've got one more thing to try tomorrow (Which I dont think will work) and then I think I will just bite the bullet and get a new one. Disappointing but I need to have some answers.
  12. You dont HAVE to drain it. The turbo sits above the sump so you will only lose a bit of oil from the piping. If you have blown a turbo, it probably wouldnt hurt to replace the oil.
  13. Coolant yes, or most of it will come out of the water lines to the turbo. Oil no
  14. VCT definently works, even in neutral. So neutral swith off on Power FC would be 'car not in neutral' so there goes that idea I guess I know the neutral switches usually stuff up (or the wiring not sure) so was a bit of an idea but looks like another dead end I'm pretty much out of ideas now. I can go ahead and buy another Power FC and if it works fine I know its the unit I have at the moment, but then I'm stuck with a dead unit. On the other hand if I buy another one and it does the same I know I have 2 working units and can sell one off, no real loss but I'm stuck with a Power FC that has a horrible flat spot that I cant find the root cause of. Would be really nice if someone had a V7 Power FC I could borrow but its alot to ask someone lol Unless anyone has any ideas? Not sure what I'm going to do now
  15. I should be at work but I'm still in town for training, so I'm hoping it does rain enough to close the roads out to work lol
  16. Thread Revival, David at DMS (FC-Hako) has had a play with it and couldnt find any problems. But I had a bit of an idea today, one for the likes of STATUS and other smart people on here that have dealt with the V7 Power FC. My Neuatral switch has never worked on the sensor SW screen. It seems to be seperate to the Ntr switch for the start circuit (they use the same switch on the gearbox but looks like they split in the engine bay) so just wondering if the ECU thinks its always in Neutral, could this be causing my issues? The NTR circle on my Sensor SW check is empty, I assumed this meant that the car was not in neutral but not so sure now
  17. Yeah this. Plenty of companies out there do cams with no VCT. Is it running stock cams at the moment?
  18. Pretty sure they make pro cams for RB25 in similar specs and you lose vct anyway. And why would you want to get rid of VCT or is it already gone?
  19. lol yeah man, its a -4 fitting and has about a 10-12mm drain so yeah.... its about a quarter of the size. I'll soon know if my car starts blowing a heap of smoke out the back
  20. I have an engine to finish, but after thats project is done I might just have a go at it I'd cut mine up but they are only 5 years old and in to good condition lol I have some links now at least. gives me a chance to look into it
  21. I dont see any cop ever writing out a fine for it, unless you get one really angry one who happens to be in a $hit mood trying to find something wrong.
  22. Standard water pump creates some flow not pressure. The pressure comes from the heat making the coolant want to expand. So at ambient temp it should have no pressure, when at operating temp should have whatever your radiator cap is rated at. They are 0.9bar from memory so 13 psi does sound right.
  23. Hey mate, can you send me a photo of the loom? or put up a photo here? PM me
  24. Looks good anyway Second photo is great, ISF?
  25. You wouldnt mind if he was champion in this case. I know I wouldnt
