This guy, he knows his stuff but I'll do the research for you The way the 02 sensor works in your car, it only adjust's AFR's at cruise load cells. And if the 02 sensor doesnt work etc your car will just run what it thinks it should be running which on a factory ECU should be richer then it would be if the 02 sensor was working

R32 Hicas Lock Into R33
89CAL replied to Manuel Kasko's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The Hicas steering racks are different between R32 and R33 so I would say just buy an R33 one. not saying it wont fit, just saying theres a chance. There not an expensive item so just get the right one for the job -
Don't get 8000K HID's (if thats what you meant) it will by far be the worst decision you ever make in lighting. I drove next to a subaru WRX with what looked like 10,000K bulbs not to long ago (looked purple) and I could see the vision they were providing him, and it wasnt great at all. I have 4300K in both low and high beam. The high beam kit I bought is much better then the cheaper low beam kit I got, but both provide a crisp light output. Its hard to explain the higher Kelvin lights, they light up the road, but they light it up dull-ly? from what I've heard 5500K is about the highest you want to go. This is the stage just before your light output starts getting blue as well, just a nice white light. My high beam kit was $180 with a relay harness I'm pretty sure, and is the kit I would buy again. They heat up about 3 times faster then my cheap low beam kit

Just wait. I mean why bother now when you can go nuts in 8 months and get whatever you want without having to go through all the crap The laws are there for a reason. Not just to piss people off

close enough lol

CAS or timing belt/idlers Pull the timing cover off, put the CAS back on and have a listen
-
Yes get the plumback kit for the HKS. Should run fine. If you have a pod you will still hear the noises but not as loud.

Fuel economy 4 timed as bad Has 4 times as much power Fair trade off I think
-
Oh I just meant if your complaining about fuel economy now, dont get a turbo Skyline haha. I'm lucky to get 400km around town out of mine, but I think I have some issues at the moment. Is your tank smaller then the 350Z's? Seems to be the thing most people forget about. Complain there only getting 400km around town but then only have a 40L tank. Find someone with a standalone wideband and go for a drive with that hooked up. Will tell you how far out your cruise mixtures are.
-
dont buy a turbo skyline then I could be wrong but I think Ben was talking about adjusting the AFM perhaps? I know you could do this on the VL's but if your dead set on getting a tune I think your better off waiting till you get to Townsville. There are a few workshops there that sound trustworthy, more then I can say for here

I'm not as much of a Vettel hater as others seem to be, but I thought he was quite likeable on Top Gear
-
yeah try some redline lightweight, seems to help alot of people. Be alot cheaper then a rebuild

Talk to Rob, he needs some interior 180sx parts pretty bad at the moment

Rocker Cover Steaming After Gasket Replacement
89CAL replied to starwarz's topic in General Maintenance
That is the intake cam cover. Your showing that its leaked from the exhaust side cam cover. And yes its just smoking off the exhaust. -
Rocker Cover Steaming After Gasket Replacement
89CAL replied to starwarz's topic in General Maintenance
Looks like inlet side from what I can make out But yeah as JEZ said it could just be oil burning off somewhere from the oil that leaked out. As for the doing the cam cover up to tight, I still dont really understand that. As long as your not doing it up to some rediculous torque, it should be fine -
Bushes. What Needs Replaceing ?
89CAL replied to KnightRiderR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Best thing to do is just jump under your car and look at what looks a bit suspect hard to say what you should replace without knowing what is actually worn. Other then saying replace them all. I've only had to change my front sway bar D-bushes in the front end of my 33. Have you still got standard suspension? Might have something to do with it also Jump under and see what bushes look worn -
$hit man. Not good
-
Box out for an overhaul. Not something to try yourself if you haven't done it before. Price wise, probably cheaper to find a second hand box (although I'm not sure what v35 boxes go for)

I'm confused to. What happened rob?

Add Fuel On Decel To Cool Pistons?
89CAL replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I used to do karting in this was mainly done at first startup to richen the mixture to aid the engine on the first run of the day. Holding your hand over one of the two inlet holes on the filter housing chokes the engine to much. I've never heard of people doing this in competitive karting to cool the engine done. There are two mixture adjustments on the carby and once I set these I never worried about it again. I had EGT on my steering wheel and you can hear when your running to lean anyway. You can drastically drop EGT by slowing down to say half throttle around 2 corners. Its much easier to see for yourself I don't see the point of injecting fuel on decel, with the possible of hardcore race cars doing long sessions -
Need Info On A R33Gtst Conversion To Gts4 Awd
89CAL replied to monty_r33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
This pretty much Just find a straight shell, paint it and use the drivetrain etc plus all your stuff in it. Easier then converting yours and risking it being slightly unbalanced/dodgy or something like that. -
EDIT: Just re-read the translate and it says: HID low beam unit will be of genuine use So to me it sounds like you need to use the Standard HID's from your old light in this one. Reading further down sort of confirms that but I wont get into it anymore So basically by the sounds of it, it should all plug in and you can continue to use Halogen globes with it, or just buy a HID conversion kit for it

R33 Not Starting, Possibly A Battery Problem.
89CAL replied to Timmy11's topic in General Maintenance
My parents car wouldn't start one day not even from a jump. New battery and it worked fine. Not common but just throwing it out there He needs to get in there with a multi meter. Best way to work it out
