  1. Nice This is why I like your car and dont want you to part it out. Photos of rear?
  2. Someone must want some nice wheels for there car Make me an offer
  3. I would check some voltages at both the battery terminals and the terminals in the engine bay,you may have a problem with the alternate charge getting to your battery and your battery voltage getting to the front of the car
  4. Perform all the tests i said. checking just the battery voltage will tell you next to nothing apart from if the battery has dropped a cell or more Crank and check voltage (get another person to check it) and tell us what you get A stuffed alternater will not stop the car from starting on a fresh battery Has your stater been out recently?
  5. you need to get a multimeter and do some checks. Firstly, put the probes across the battery and set multimeter to DC voltage and do the following: when the car is stationary (key off), should be about 12.4V (good condition, charged battery) Key to Cranking (wether the car cranks or just makes the click) and record the voltage If you can get the car running, record the voltage while the car is running Do this and then post up your results
  6. I perfer to do Mig but sometimes I have no choice but to do stick. Have done some brazing before but rarely do that
  7. I'm not mature age, but we do have mature age apprentices. I think about $26/hr is the mature age apprenticeship rate, but not 100% cause both mature age apprentices are on higher rates cause they've been with the company for a while before they got apprenticeships (as labourers) I started on $11 an hour but lol I'm pretty much doing the full 4 years, but there trying to fast track people now (to much if you ask me, they want to bring it down to 18mnthsor something stupid) As above but, work for Cummins, Detroit etc you'll be doing alot of engine rebuilds, servicing and repairs (specific) Work for a company that produces the machines and you'll be doing a variety of different things, I do everything from hydraulics to welding to auto electrical stuff with what I do
  8. Is it a track car? If not, adding camber (depending how much) is just going to destroy your tyres in a matter of months, not the best way to deal with scrubbing.
  9. My 19's still up for sale, Got off my ass and made a proper thread with photos and stuff. Anyway, if anyone is interested or knows someone who would then heres the link 19" Koya Inox R1

  12. I work for Komatsu in Mackay. Don't ask me about Hastings, there the opposition for me and I'm a bit biased If you can get your trade down there, and want to make a bucket of money later on, you can get a fly in fly out roster out west from here. I'm planning on heading out there for a few years just to get a house deposit Going off what I know, In brisbane you would mainly be dealing with construction equipment (Excavators, Backhoes, Graders maybe) and the occasional dozer and smaller dump truck. I work mainly on large Dozers, large dump trucks and Loaders. if your gonna be working on mainly excavators you'll probably be doing a fair bit of hydraulics. I knew next to nothing about hydraulics when I started but I really enjoy it.
  13. What area are you in? I'm about to finish my Diesel Fitting Apprenticeship, there's alot of demand for fitters, but theres also alot of people who want to do it. I missed out on one with BMA because I didnt ask enough questions on the tour they took me for around the facility, but other then that I dont remember much else that might be helpful lol sorry
  14. Your CAS will be the issue
  15. Lol oh damn. Shoot me a PM whenever you want to do something about it. im happy to wait till your home or whatever suits you
  16. Sounds good. as long as the block and crank are salvegable ill be happy. Will have to work out when i can get up there with a ute to lol.....
  17. depends how much you want for it.... I was gonna rebuild mine but if a cheap enough complete bottom end comes up, all the better
  18. Bare bottom end?
  19. There's a difference between water and throttle body cleaner/solvents
  20. Need to brush up on my physics lol............
  21. +1 Water does not compress well, not a good thing when your squeezing a volume to 1/9th (roughly) its original size. It just sounds dodgy. The reason water methanol works is because its under pressure and atomised (Like your fuel is when it goes through your injectors). I dont really care what workshop it was, and I dont care how many more engines they've built then me, as far as I'm concerned you dont let any contamination into your engine, wether it be dust, water etc. The photo posted above of the conrod bent, is exactally what could happen if to much water (in liquid form) gets into your cylinder In sumary: Water Meth = Yes Water sucked into your engine through a vac line = No No
  22. water meth is atomsied so it works, Have seen a conrod not 2 weeks ago that looked like the one above due to water in the cylinder. Sucking water into your engine through a vac line is a new one, and also not the smartest idea in the world.
  23. Mackay vs Townsville? But that wouldnt go well for me lol my car is suffering alot in this heat, and starting to think the engine isn't to healthy
  24. I imagine the 350 will spool nicely lol Yeah needed the ignitor bolts as the threads for it in the carbon coil cover were a size smaller for some reason. So just ordered some from pro bolt to check them out, good product Will be ordering some new bolts for the spoiler end covers and a few more bits soon. Should look good
  25. Yeah your right, but in terms of absolute pressure, no? Or is the fact that I havent done physics in 4 years really showing lol.......
