Just finished my gearbox overhaul and all I have to say is - Never Again! Lol everything is so tight in there

Either get your flywheel machined or buy a lightweight flywheel. Nothing wrong with machining flywheel but if you want a lightweight clutch, best to do it when the box is out I just put an NPC flywheel in and they are a quality item. Haven't had the car running yet to see the differences. If it's a skyline clutch it should fit the skyline NPC flywheel, they are designed to match the standard clutch pattern

AAC is still needed without aircon Why would you want to take the AAC off? It just creates headaches doing so

I'll put some pics up of my wheels again, I really want to sell them locally so I save worrying about transport etc. anyway: Koya Inox R1 19" Fronts: 8.5" wide with 235/35ZR19 Nankang's (inner camber wear but still about 70% tread left) Rears: 9.5" wide with 265/30ZR19 Kendra's (near new, 90% tread left or more, only got them at the start of the year) Offsets: Front +35 Rears + 38 Great fitament on R33 Gts-t, dont really require guard rolling as I drove around with no guard work for 2 years with these wheels. They are dirty atm need a good clean and maybe polish, there is minor gutter rash on two wheels but its not so bad. Can provide photos of this if necessary. Chasing $1300 with Hubcentric Rings and locknuts

Rb25De Not Hitting Over 200Km/h && Should I Get Banana Bread?
89CAL replied to SKITTLES's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Gearing is always a compromise. You can have a gearbox that will accelerate unbelivably quick but will only reach 140kmh. Or you can have slow acceleration with a top speed of 300kmh (and risk never getting there) You need power to overcome wind resistance (Drag) and there is an element of mechanical drag as well from the moving parts along the driveline. This is why the Bugatti Veyron can go 400km/h and your car can not lol. Lots and lots of power, and long gearing. In racing the idea is to get the gearing right so you are in top gear right near the limiter on the longest straight/fastest part of the track. When I used to do karting, I had to change sprockets to get the right gearing. In Formula 1 they do the same thing with the gear ratios for the different tracks (There will be a Monza spec gear set, Bahrain spec gear set etc etc). If you've been watching this year with the Drag Reduction rear wings they are hitting redline early on the straights because they have to keep a good gearing for the race where they cant use the DRS for the whole track Thats enough talking -
These two points are the most relevant here I'm assuming your on P plates which is why your buying an NA? do the smart thing and build a turbo engine on the side while you have your P's. 2WD or 4WD, there both not exactally quick in NA form. But if you've got the 4WD system, putting a turbo on it will give you great grip and make it alot quicker

Just A Few Questions.
89CAL replied to Converge's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
easy to see if its got HICAS, just look at the back to see if theres a motor with tie rods mounted behind the diff, You should have a HICAS light on your dash but? That doesnt mean it hasnt been pulled out due to an issue or something, best to double check the motor is mounted behind the diff that way you will know for sure -
O.K I've finally got off my ass and burnt some DVD's lol So if you want one PM me or something? Ive put the edits I've done on the discs, there arent really alot of photos but if you see one you like and you want me to edit it then let me know I'll try to edit it how you want but might turn out 100%

Fitting 19 Inch Rims To R33 Gtst
89CAL replied to NikhtaR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
tyre size is kinda irrelevant. Are they 245's on a 6" wide rim or on a 10" wide rim What is the wheel width? I had 19" x 9.5 +38 on my car, they were a good fit. -
All well and good except that R33's have electronic HICAS so it wont be a hyd problem...... more details about the car? Does it have an aftermarket steering wheel? The diagnostic mode is done by starting the car, turning the wheel left and right 5 times, tapping the brake pedal twice and driving forward about 5-10m and tapping the brake pedal once more (pretty sure thats the full procedure anyway) Mine would throw up the HICAS light when I Travelled above 80km/h for more then 15mins or so, because I had my steering wheel boss kit on wrong and it wasnt engaging the steering angle sensor properly (Had to much play is the best way to describe it) Is there anything youve done to the car lately?

Just put your front bumper on my car and we will pass mine off as a GTR Nah sounds like a good event but. Will have to check it out

Sweet as. Will hopefully have my gearbox back together by then so I can see what times it will do now. Really want a high 12 but will probably only manage a 13 first time out with the new setup. If I can get it off the line..... Ordered an AEM UEGO Wideband gauge from the states. Has analog out so should be able to hook it in with the FC-Hako and have the AFR's up on map watch in FC Edit. Will make it alot easier to tune. Also with all the gearbox stuff I decided to go with an NPC Lightweight Billet flywheel. Replacing 2nd and 4th synchro + energizer springs and inserts and bearings and needle rollers. About $1100 going into the gearbox which is not bad for what should feel like a near new box with a decent flywheel. Next on the list Is carbon fibre valley cover and timing belt cover, put my polished cam covers on and a carbon fibre cooling panel

Knocking Noise When Turning Right
89CAL replied to GT888's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had a funny noise when my front sway bar bushes were stuffed, think it was a light knocking noise. Check your tie rod ends as well? just some other ideas to check out -
Blown Pressure Plate Spring?
89CAL replied to Razor36's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ok what I would do is get a second person to lay under the car and watch the slave cylinder to see if it moves when you push the clutch in If so you have a problem inside and the box will have to come out. If it doesn't move then check your pedal bracket, master cylinder, clutch line and fluid level. Also bleed te clutch line if possible. This should help you find your problem -
I thought the horns grounded through the mount that they sit on as standard?
