Gearbox Mount + Front Sway Bar D Bushes/mounts
89CAL replied to 89CAL's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Had some success with the sway bar bushes. Part Number: SPF1484- _ _ K (Put the number in mm of sway bar bush you want in there) so mine were SPF1484-22K - 22mm sway bar diameter -
mine didnt have speed cut and seemed to rev more, but trust me it was definently a stock ECU. Yours is running a high flow but making 173rwkw, which suggests its probably still a standard ECU but I'm not going to say it definently is or definently isnt. If you can, start the car and when its hunting or trying to stall try placing something over the BOV so no air can escape from it. If this makes your revs settle down then I'd say the BOV will be the issue. HKS make plumback kits for the SSQV's (not sure for which generation they apply to but)

Reset the ECU is easy, Take negative terminal off battery, put your foot on the brake for a few seconds (or fiddle with switches, basically just need to drain any residual voltage) then put the negative terminal back on. My HICAS light came on after 20 mins of driving above 80kmh when I installed an aftermarket steering wheel and boss kit I lined the HICAS boss kit up with the prong that moves the HICAS hub behind the steering wheel in the wrong spot so it wasnt instantly turning the hub, there was a couple of degrees of movement before it would move the HICAS hub. This caused my light to come on and I relised and fixed my boss kit so it was in the right spot. But that would probably only apply if youve only just got a boss kit installed or if youve only just started doing longer trips at or above 80kmh

I dont think the game gets to interesting till level 15 when you start unlocking some better events. Alot of the initial events arent very good and I was struggling at one point to keep an interest in the game. Its become alot better now, just wish I had my steering wheel setup ready so I could use it. I got a thrustmaster Ferrari GT wheel as a gift but im not sure that I like it. Anyone else using one of these? Its annoying that it isnt a pre configured wheel for GT5 as I have to change the controls to get it to work.....

Yeah I ran off in one spot on both laps, if not for that I would have won lol, oh well. Its fun but frustrating when that happens as its such a long two laps. 2nd is good enough for now pretty happy considering it was done with next to no tuning
-
Have you got an BOV venting to atmosphere? This could be causing the issue if the car is not tuned/tuned correctly. Also new spark plugs and coilpacks are a good idea, however they are not going to solve your problem of revs dropping and stalling as these are at low load points where you dont require a strong spark. I dont think that will be the issue but its something worth updating anyway. Clean the AFM and AAC valves and post up if you have an Atmo BOV and if so which one. Also if you DONT have an atmo bov, and the car has a factory ECU (with no chip, piggyback etc) then perhaps try resetting the ECU. I had my skyline go funny back when it was on stock ECU after I put an atmo BOV on it then took it back off. It did the same thing kept stalling even with the stock BOV back on, and I tried everything and the only thing that fixed it was resetting the ECU If you want to do that, disconnect the battery and hold your foot on the brakes for about 10 seconds or so then plug the battery back in. But do this only if your sure its the factory ECU with no mods/chips/tunes/piggybacks etc

If you can get the car to start from booster packs from the front terminals every time (as in it cranks easily this way but not when you try and crank it from the on board battery) then sounds like you have a pretty bad issue somewhere between the battery in the boot to the starter. Do a voltage drop check while cranking off the car battery to confirm this. best way would be to have someone stand at the back with a multimeter across the battery terminals and then crank the car. From memory the Minimum voltage you should see is around 8 I think, but if its failing to even turn I think youll be seeing much lower voltage then that. Do this then put the results up.

Sweet Thanks mate I found that super pro make sway bar bushes for the front and rear, you just have to tell them your sway bar size, so theres a win there Will check out those other sites you mentioned Thanks again for that -
WOW Just did the nurburgring Nascar (seasonal event) and jeze thats a mind game and a half lol. Trying to think how to go into every corner. Love racing at the nurburgring. Ended up just behind the lead car at the last 2 corners, just couldnt do it, so close yet so far. Great fun but

Hmmm i used the RX-7 Type RZ (FD, J) '93 It was useless, although I hadnt played with the suspension I was losing at least a second a lap to the lead car. 390hp

Not after the steering spacer lol was just using it as extra info in case anyone remembered the trader on here But Thanks for that, Ill give GKTech an email, nothing on the webpage by the looks at it but cant hurt to ask. Does KTS have a website? I havent heard of them before And I'll see what I can find out of Fulcrum Thanks for those suggestions, might be finally getting somewhere Open to other suggestions as well though Thanks Callan -
Starter Motor? sounds like it has a bad connection or is on the way out (if not already gone)

Hi Guys Have recently been trying to source a polyurethene Gearbox (manual) mount for my R33, I had a friend who bought one a while ago, I remember him showing me (probably about 2 years ago or around abouts). Ive talked to him about it and he swears he bought it off these forums along with a solid steering spacer (I think it was) and some drift pineapples. These parts were for his R32 but I cant seem to find where on here he got them from, nor can I find much anywhere else at all, have searched the forums, google and ebay and all I can find is a UAS Polyurethane one and the Nismo ones, Both over $200, alot more then he payed for his gearbox mout I've also got a slightly worn D bush/mount for my front sway bar, and these are similar, the only place ive been able to find one is from the UK, which will do if I cant find them anywhere else. But i was wondering if anyone else has bought something maybe designed for a different car that is the same as the skyline sway bar bushes. I might end up pulling a bush off and taking it into pedders to try and match it but if anyone else has found a substitute or knows where I can get one it would make things alot easier. I have found this on whiteline plus: Sway bar Mount Front but I measured my sway bar and it appears to be 22mm? Perhaps Ive measured the sway bar wrong, does anyone know if its 22mm or 20mm? but anyway, I dont live near a Whiteline Plus stockist anyway so might be useless anyway Any help would be appreciated Car: 1994 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-t Manual Thanks Callan

Which rx7 are people using?

Thanks Had a bit of rotten luck with it of late but hopefully should be better now Anyone interested in my 19's? I'll be selling them soon....
-
How did you manage to work that plan out lol Hope she doesn't want to be married for another few years
-
for anyone wanting an easy $500,000 and 60,000exp do the Lotus Elise 111R race in seasonal events bonus race 3. Its hell easy if you mod your elise up a bit (cant use RM modified one but). I fully modded mine and managed to overtake all 11 other cars and put a 1 minute gap on them in 5 laps lol
-
nah I think its just the way those wheels look, Ive seen them on cars before where if you look at them at certain angles they dont look quite right
-
farris: Those are great photos Especially like the second one as it looks half drawn half photographed for some reason, looks very cool
-
pretty sure that white is just reflection? Just looks like a car half prepped for paint to me? :S
-
If its disconnected should just be a matter of rejoining the wires to the switch doesnt matter which way they go on because the switch is just there to stop or allow the signal to get through and shouldnt be polarity sensitve Very cool feature (The Mirrors down in reverse one) wish mine had that, although the gutter rash ive got so far has never been in reverse lol

Cool Story Bro.............

yeah I have a steering wheel just nowhere to put it I ordered a hyperdrive setup today, just one of the cheap ones with a padded seat, I dont really need to spend to much money on virtual racing lol. Should be much better with a wheel and such but
