why not just get a custom stainless pipe made up. Will look good and has lots of benefits over having a filter straight on the turbo

About To Order Bc Coilovers
89CAL replied to ClutchBurndout-:('s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The V1's are pretty good, I have the 8/6 combo think they are a bit softer then the BR series because of the rubber/pillowball mounts but not sure (thought for some reason BR series are solid mount but could be wrong) There good quality for the price, Im happy with them -
Hmmm sounds like an AAC valve issue but if you've cleaned it and it's plugged in properly then it shouldn't be that. I think it has two plugs, make sure the wiring and plugs are fine (although i see no reason why they would be all of a sudden not fine) I think one goes to the AAC valve itself and the other to the cold start valve? However you've said it wouldn't start once cold start cycle wad over, does this mean even if you gave it some throttle while cranking? If youcan get your hands on a CAS just to try (borrow one?) then that might be worth a try. Your afm voltages from memory are similar to what I get but as I never really check that I won't confirm they are normal Replacing the whole loom seems a bit drastic

Yeah that's what I was doing, using the suggested gear and brake point and not really trying to out drive that. For whatever reason I just stuffed up the same corner both laps :S then I was close to winning but knew I wouldn't so tried punting him off. That didnt work either lol It's fun and as said it's quite easy if you settle down and just drive within the limits On another note. Got my formula GT, handful to control with a normal PS3 controller

How late? I'm struggling to get up at 5:30am for work so I'm not keen if its to late lol

Depending on how long since the studs have been replaced, you will probably end up snapping one or two I just did mine because I had one that has been broken for ages, while pulling them all out Another 4 snapped so yeah. It would be a good ide while the manifold is off..... New studs and Nuts shouldnt cost to much anyway

As above. Putting a new radiator in may drop temps but could just end up masking another problem that will end up much worse

Problems Putting Gearbox Back In
89CAL replied to SLDN-31's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Unfortunatly I've had my gearbox out twice in two years lol I know how much of a pain it is. But as said above, gently liftin the front of the engine up helps as well. Do this on the front edge of the sump where it is strongest -
Front Coi;over Lower Mount
89CAL replied to thatlbeme's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I thought it would just be a lower suspension mount. And dont use a split pin -
Airlie sounds good (and is better then halfway) lol Rob: you were useless I'll get my carbon R out for a rematch lol. Yeah I might get keen to play with electrics this weekend. Bring your black box and I'll see if there's any noticable dry solder.

Problems Putting Gearbox Back In
89CAL replied to SLDN-31's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
There a pain to juggle back into the right spot. Make sure your gearbox is in gear and try turning the output shaft in case the input shaft isn't lining up with the clutch. May need to slip the prop shaft in to turn it -
I'm keen for a drag when my new wheels get here, but I'll race anything, I just want to see what time I can get. As for the drivers side window thing, theres a thread in the DIY section I'm pretty sure on how to fix it, Im gonna give it a go soon, was gonna do it a while ago but opened the box for my power window up and everything looked good. Supposedly only takes about 5 mins and a bit of new solder Took some photos of my engine bay today..... a good camera and some lighting really shows up how dirty it is lol
-
No way, I'm not wasting my last day of holidays doing that lol.... Did you end up getting your power window module fix? Mines playing up so might pull it apart and re-solder if it looks dodgy. Id say thats all thats wrong with yours as well

Gearbox Mount + Front Sway Bar D Bushes/mounts
89CAL replied to 89CAL's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Thanks for that. Yeah I only mentioned the steering spacer cause my mate bought a couple of things for his 32 from the same seller so just listed them all to see if anyone remembered who was selling them. The seller seems to have disappeared however :S Ive just found an KTS one that I've literally just bought lol, otherwise I would have taken you up on your offer, thanks anyway but For those looking for a gearbox mount in polyurethene then this is the link for where Im getting mine. They show a RB20/SR20 one but after emailing about R33 mounts they said they also do RB25 gearbox mounts. Polyurethene Gearbox Mount Thanks for the help everyone. Who knows how long I would have had to search to find these things lol -
Yeah that is my pet hate with the rally. When it transitions to night visibility even with high beams on is next to nothing
-
I'm not trig to be downer but do you need a 52mm radiator? The stock radiator is fine for decent power levels and some of the larger radiators keep the temps a bit low when street driven. I'd only consider a 52mm if your going to be racing
-
Ummmm That's what this whole thread is about........... Solutions have just been mentioned. Hicas boss kit installed wrong or inferior, or steering angle sensor issues In regards to the diagnostic thing. I've never been able to get mine into diagnostic mode when my boss kit was stuffing up. Haven't tried it since I fixed it, probably should try but

Gearbox Mount + Front Sway Bar D Bushes/mounts
89CAL replied to 89CAL's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Are RB20 and RB25 gearbox mounts the same? -
It'll never dry out lol
-
I dont think that would be An issue with the electric hicas but check it anyway I guess?

FYI I have a 1994 gtst and when I would it up to 10psi on stock ecu it just fuel cut at about 4500rpm. At 8psi I had really rich (10:1) afr mixtures. You may have better luck then me just using my car as an example. If your car does do this, a new ecu is a great upgrade

How Long Can U Keep 98 Fuel Sitting In Ur Tank ?
89CAL replied to Tweaky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If your worried stick some octane booster in it when you start driving it agian. Just to be sure -
I could hear mine sort of click as it engaged the HICAS hub prong when moving the wheel slightly left and right when it was out of position, see if you can hear anything like this when you turn the wheel?

I know someone who has run a modified standard plenum (converted to front facing) in his RB20 powered 180SX for a while with no real issues However in saying that, with the time and effort (and cost?) involved, you may as well try and find a good greddy copy plenum and use it. Thats what I've got, I got mine in a trade because the person wanted something but didnt have the cash i wanted, but I thought why not, and its run fine with it on
