  1. I wonder what a 3540 would be like with one of the bolt on .73 Kando external gate T3 housings.... cheers darren
  2. Has it done any more passes with higher than 118mph??, i only ask as i have seen 12.0-119, 120mph passes in R33 with stock Rb25's ...256 ponnies and old Dynosaur T04H trim, T04b .60 comp cover ,sierra turbine, op6 hi-flow with made 299rwkw, then dyno was recalibrated and it made 260rwkw. And Hypergears hi-flows are better than that old shit. thought 330 would equal 123-124mph? cheers darren
  3. hahaha , love it, nice work cheers darren
  4. I actually missed that 66- P trim 1.00, that might work quite well if you don;t mind some lag on a rotary, and easy to upgrade housings, might get my mate to try one on his cheers darren
  5. Another hybrid http://www.ebay.com....=item3f11ac8b09 And seeing as they sell the Gt3540 comp covers http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Turbo-Compressor-Housing-Wheel-Kit-4-Garrett-T04S-AR70-GT3582-/290653484892?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43ac4c375c Why doesn't someone ask him to measure them, and the 4 inch T67 cover for overall size and then you will have you diameter answer as we know the garret cover fits on standard manifold with a 14mm spacer cheers darren
  6. f**k knows on the billet part, if its the same comp wheel just machined out of billet....no difference, if its a slightly different design that flows more LB's, then worth it... cheers darren
  7. 12cm for Rb30.... cheers darren
  8. Everyone should just leave the poor bloke alone, and see how it pans out... cheers darren
  9. you can't compare a G3 to a Gt35... cheers darren
  10. I got the deatschwerks, hardly breaks the bank at around $215 delivered, and small like the walbro cheers darren
  11. Whats the difference between the PU hi-flow and the G3?, i actually thought they where exactly the same except the the G3 comp cover is a big GT30-35 .70 one instead of standard. But then i don't actually know and have never asked..lol cheers darren
  12. UnitedBoost 98 was E10?, can you still get it?, or are you talking about 98 octane with 10 percent added to it.. cheers darren
  13. No might, it would be on 98 octane... there no question about it, E85 fixes that though ..lol eg what is the dominating factor for detonation in an RB engine at these power levels, intake temperature, or combustion pressure? Its always about combustion pressure... intake temperature/EGT/detonation/power level are just things that change it cheers darren
  14. Well you sorta have to have a believable figure, but EGT"s( and they contribute to combustion pressure) and intake air are going to be lower with the 42.. But your also got to keep revs in mind, and how many, revs is worse at destroying a motor than boost pressure.. if you make 450rwkw at 6500 rpm and and another motor makes 370rwkw at 8000rpm, the one with more power will generally last longer cheers darren
  15. Well EGTs have a big role to play aswell, a dyno can NEVER replicate real life, case in point my brothers gemini banged head gaskets every 1000km. Had a HKS 2540R on it 10yrs ago on 23psi( read run flat out) the tune looked good on dyno but after thrashing on road or track the headgasket would go. The turbine wheel and exhaust housing where just to small to run flat out for any lenght of time and EGT's would go up and combustion pressure with it, water injection would have fixed that... Gt3082 now with .82.....no head gaskets eaten, and f**kloads more power. i use to run a EGT gauge in my 99 wrx with 4 different turbos, i stock, 1 VF 22, one AVO 400 and one a GT3082. From 0- 250km, the stock turbo would get to 230km and the gauge was 800 and rising, with the 22 it rose to 650 and slowly kept climb, and the other to sat dead at around 650 and woudn't budge even held at 7600rpm and 275-280km in top gear for kilometres. All safe, fat AFR's in the 11's Once you switch to E85, methanol, water injection, you have more octane and less EGT's so everything changes again, even though you will make more power... http://rusubaru.com/egts-101/ cheers darren
  16. I am not talking about all turbos just these ones ( and a lot of others in the 50lb to 60LB flow range) . and 98 octane. At 18psi they are loafing along at, probally would be hard to get the bigger ones hot at all. at 22psi however they are generally out of compressor flow on 98 octane which means intake temps are higher, EGT's would be higher and i bet combustion pressures are a lot higher, not to mention that on 98 octane theres a fair bit of tuning balancing work at that level I suspect that the chances of blowing a motor ramp up over 20psi. Woudn't hurt a freshy, but face it, theres plenty of uncared high km Rb25s out there It the exact same thing in the Rb30 sohc world aswell with the same size of turbos. Pretty sure STATUS even said he won't tune a Rb25 over 18psi without knowing its condition and health. But yeh thats just my opinion, everyones got one, its the internet...lol cheers darren
  17. Not a flat battery..lol, i only ask because of the amount of times that has happened....under a certain voltage they switch the pumps of. Had it happen 3 times to various people after fitting them. Cars still has plenty of volts to turn over at that point aswell cheers darren
  18. ^^^ROFLMAO, and i love your user name to , f**king cracks me up everytime i see it cheers darren
  19. I think people are forgetting how many kms are on these motors now...I will give you a example..I have been a member on supraforums for 13yrs, I look every week , stock bottom end started of taking 600 rwhp with 66mm setups, then they went 72mm, 74mm 76m Q trims and the numbers went up, then 42's with 74, 76 S trims etc, 900rwhp no blowups. But in th last couple of yrs the the average for a stock bottom end has been drastically lowered as they are starting to put on reasonable mileage, and aren't as strong anymore..or it could be people have just started bad tuning now..... Its only the one owner never driven ones, REALLY low mileage that people are getting hold of , compety stock standard and then going large in the setup and making ridiclious numbers still. Fark loads have taking a dump And the average Rb25 had 15 times the mileage these things have on them..plus a lot of people ideas of maintenance are different, theres so many shitbox skylines around that aren;t looked after its not funny, i woudn't recommend giving one of them 20+psi.. without a comp test. Unless your idea of a good saturday is removing a smelly old ringland busted Rb25. cheers darren
  20. before boosting the f**k out of it, i'd compression test a motor to get a idea on its health, but thats just me , plenty have boosted the f**k out of them, just as many have blown the bottom ends out of them..... cheers darren
  21. water alone will do it best, 50/50 makes a bit more power, we picked up 8 rwkw from switching from water to 50/50 on the gemini, however i ran just straight water. Straight water is probally best for what you want to do. Funny thing is the water injection done this way, as the boost increases, so does water flow, so works better in my opion than the pump ones (without a variable flow control computer thing)as they have ALL there water flow when they switch on ay 8psi ish. Yeh rotarys run 25psi plus 98 octane tunes this way, best thing is they don't blow up aswell like usual on other fuels... cheers darren
  22. LPG solenoids for air and water and a hobbs pressure switch are your freind....., if your on the cheap you can find the solenoids at a wreckers. and a EF falcon )think thats it) radiator header tank for a bottle...throw it in the back.. I had it setup like that pre-turbo with a water/air atomiser on my 31, and my brothers gemini has it aswell, his makes 250rwkw on 26psi on 98 octane at 6000ish rpm.(runs 126-127mph) His would make f**kloads more but had a very small 210 @ .50 - 350 thou lift camshaft at the time. It s still a G180 with a Gt3082. Both where not octane limited, i stopped as i made enough power and my brother stopped because of boostleaks when tuning. Both setups can run into 30's on pump, I inject 700ml per minute, think he only used 200ml ish. cheers darren
  23. ^^^^^Not the "lunatic " one? cheers darren
  24. Sounds pretty normal to me, just stick a small cam in it aswell, (something around [email protected]) and some springs ,and you will make good power ,most people stick 3540's .82 on them at least... If you don't do cam, it probally won't make more than 240-250rwkw, thats about all you will ever get with stock camshaft, regardless of turbo... I'd try a TD06H 25G 12cm personally, with a auto it would run 10's on a good condition stock bottom end i would have thought... cheers darren
  25. Ones enough,, i'm sure you mums a lovely lady but i really like my old lego block shitheap...lol cheers darren
