  1. They have the M109 for the R35's. Cut the core a different size.
  2. If you have the standard comp ratio, how does a built 2.6 drive any different to a stocker? A bit of a tickle on the head and a set of bump stock can be done to a stock bottom end?How does a set of pistons and some rods allow the engine to make more low end twist? Plenty of people making over and above 400 kW with the OEM engine. Simon from WA, Reaper here in NSW (470 kW using a 8374). If they "rebuilt it" with some Pistons and rods, how or why would the power delivery change? (Barring compression ratio increases) If the engine is still healthy, leave it alone. Rebuilding a 2.6 is like buying a box of rotten bananas. It's a little cheaper but they are garbage. 2.6 = stock engine or healthy wrecker, built engine = stroker. Costs not much more.
  3. It baffles me why ARC don't make the M109 anymore for the 32-34 GTR's.
  4. Exactly as Pete said. Machining Labour to put in and out Head freshen up Cams Bearings Clutch Injectors And the list goes on. $2-3 k is a drop in the ocean when you're talking about what you're about to do. That dofference falls IF you need a new crank or have to "prepare" your current one.
  5. You're crazy not to stroke it then. It's such a little amount more. All the costs are the same bar a little more for a crank. you're already buying pistons and rods.
  6. Are you going to rebuild the engine?
  7. This was a 400 kW car though. Wasn't an issue mid 300's though. But yeah, keep it in mind. They were genuine filters too!
  8. Take the main filter out and see if they have added something to hold the filter in place. A mate had one of them and it would keep sucking the filter in.
  9. Unopened 2.6 went 470 kWBuilt 2.6 went 490 kW. 600 whp isn't an issue.
  10. Can someone post a CRG manifold in a photo... Raw brokerage had some crazy angles going into the collector, 6 boost are quite shallow. Pics or nothing!
  11. They're polar opposites You do not want RS's/2871's/-10's. The graph that I posted earlier shows why. GT SS's are a -9. A little small for a 2.8.
  12. What sort of driving was that? Meh, who cares. E85 FTW!
  13. This. ALL of this. Print this out and put it in the shower.
  14. Oops. Two conversations going on in here lol.
  15. on top of E85?What about rear housing?
  16. Simons car? It was 470. Go back through the GTX thread and have a look at what he had to say about it all. Heat, heat and more heat. He couldn't keep temps under control.
  17. Seems like the front housing comes into play here with the GTX wheels. GTX wheels jammed into "- series" housings never seem to perform as well as they do in the proper garrett housings.
  18. What's the difference between a built 2.6 or a stroker in an RB 26 block. Money wise it's a couple grand (crank cost). Both have to be assembled.
  19. No. Back to back between -5's and GTRS's (2871/-10's) on a 2.8L Thanks Gav
  20. OP. The question about the different type of strokers in the 2.8 range. How hard do you want to turn this thing? Realistically, with low mounts (with reasonable sized cams) they will be all said and done by 8-8500 RPM anyway. A semi counter kit like a Tomei will do the job more than adequately. If you have coin to burn then choose your poison. Will you notice any difference, probably not.
  21. Died a lazy death.
  22. http://gcg.com.au/turbo-parts/oil-drain-fittings/garrett-gt-38mm-hole-centres/oil-drain-kit-garrett-gt-gtx-series-rb26dett-detail Buy these.
  23. You'd never know. No speed sensor haha.
