  7. Btw, anyone notice the wind patterns in the past 2 weeks even?
  8. I did meteorology at Macquarie U & wind during Aug-Sept can be sudden and vicious. October can be a better month for hazard reduction than above, (depending on moisture readings on the ground as well as humidity). Thanks for informing me about animals 'sleeping' in winter, but other than snakes, goannas and lizards, I wasn't aware that mammals could be at risk during a winter hazard reduction! Please tell me which mammals or ground birds like lyre birds cannot escape a grid burn?????? Ian Holman of Faulconbridge RFS couldn't tell me either.
  9. Their boat display of sashimi never disappoints. Fresh taste of fish - also based on how they cut it is superb.
  10. Last paragraph ^^^ Now that's a niche filled I'd like to see! Toyota Aust has already learned much from its 86. That I know. Subie wouldn't have taken its eye off the ball either I bet.

  18. I'm no economist but only trying to join some dots, am I... Q Why are ex-gov't vehicles these days consisting of Renaults, Peugeots, Hyundais as well as Fords, Camrys & Holdens? Q If Renaults, Peugeots and Hyundais somehow get damaged, don't their replacement parts come from France and Korea? Q Doesn't Australia have a parts industry for our Fords, Camrys and Holdens (not including Cruze-Daewoo)? Q If Australian CommCars are Aussie made vehicles, then why can't other state gov't and local gov't vehicles be Aussie made too? Q Extrapolating, why can't all vehicles be Aussie made when the purchasing officers of the following departments do their sums? * Prisons * Health workers * Hospitals * Pathology * RTA/RMS * Buses (now there's a new market) * Trains (another new market) * RailCorp * Councils * Police * Judiciary * Dept of Secondary and Primary Education * Universities etc etc etc Q Am I on the right page here?
  19. O'Farrell Lib Gov't is now about to bid on the "Cross City Tunnel" in order to free up congestion in the CBD > Toll will be lowered (if purchased). Makes Sense > especially after my old high school buddy (actually from my same year) Paul Forward, head of RTA at the time, signed off on its construction at a cost of more than double what it was worth. He bragged at a Canterbury HS Reunion how it was his 'baby'; and how it was going to revolutionise city traffic. He disappeared out of the limelight after being thoroughly embarrassed.
  20. Digging starts in 18 months. Do you live in the SW? Do you travel to the SW? Are you stymied by the M5? Another impost toll? Any costings to the consumer yet? Any use to you - or will you have moved away by the time it's finished?

Officer: Can you help us with a description? Chris: Umm, I think he was brunette... and he was wearing this wide brimmed hat... or was it a helmet? Drive-bys happen all the time! ...and you don't lose pay.
