  1. Would have been great to see an in gear rolling start 40-60km/h, 40-80km/h, 40-100km/h times and a dyno. Did you get the ecu re-flashed? If not then can there really be that much of a difference if the things airflow characteristics didnt change enough to require a tune....or if it did....do you know what is different about the tune in the way fo fuelling and ignition? Surprised its made such an obvious difference with the turbo and power you are running because there have been various posts with some positive and some negative...lol woudl love to get my head around the reasons But good work on getting it all together and running to your satisfaction
  2. Look at the vid, he removed hands from the wheel so as not to hurt fingers/wrist etc on impact....a very common thing for drivers to do. Look at the front left suspension arm after impact, its snapped and the toe is completely different to the front right....with the impact twisting the wheels to the angle they were on. And if you are going to whack the nose on a wall, you tuck your feet in and away from the pedals. Otherwise you can injure your feet/ankles on the pedals, suspension arms can puncture the cockpit and injure legs. So go ahead and call me one eyed, but if you dont see how the car speared back accross the circuit then I dont think you appreciate or understand the sport you are watching...most of the times in accidents like this its the friction of what tyres are left on the car scrub off speed on dry surfaces/tracks and the fact that corners are ripped off the cars arent rolling. 3. nvm? As you can see in the footage his wheels appear to be turning with no indication of them locking. Why cant they have Brazil this week and Abu Dhabi the following week
  4. Nope!
  5. Webber has had 3 brain farts this year. Australia, Valencia and Korea. Korea is borderline understandable given the conditions... Think Alonso in a Mclaren in Japan, this year in a Ferrari at Spa... Hamo in the dry at Monza last year....but that is no excuse for him throwing it away. The flip side he has diven very well to win 4 races. He has put the thing on the front row something like 13 times this year....he has been on the podium 9 times...and only had two non points finishes....but you are only as good as your last race. Vettel, over the year has shown he has not been as consitant. But they are veyr close, more then any other leading team. Vettel and Webber have the pace to 1-2 the remaining GPs. If Webber is P4 or something at Brazil then let Vettel go for it. If they lock out the front row and are racing in whatever order....they woudl be stupid to not give Mark a pit strategy to get him in front. I suspect that will what happen. But Vettel wont be slowed down. Webbas has to put the thing on the front row or ahead of Vettel...Vettel cant help Webber beat Alonso. So, on another note. How important are the 7 points Alonso got in Germany now? I was surprised at the time that points werent taken for the weekend, both WDC and WCC. I didnt think it would matter over the course of the season as Ferrari seemed no.3 but they have rallied and now on equal footing with RBR. So if we are going to do hypotehicals. if Vettel had not taken out Mark and in turn losing him 13 points in the sphincter of the universe, and Alonos was P2 in Germany whereby loosing 7 points....well.....its all for shit anyway....reality is Mark has some work to do and if he gets the job done it will be a well deserved WDC. And something i posted elsewhere regarding Bergers remarks...To accuse any driver of intentionally putting their car sideways in the middle of a track in front of on coming cars at speed in wet conditions meaning they wont have slowed down combined with will have been slower then usual to pick them up due to spray etc.....is RETARDED!!!! Come on!!! There is more to life then a car race and I am sure no driver wants a nosecone into the side of their head after a car launches over the top of their sidepod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Zanardi lost his legs in an Idycar, a F3 driver was killed last year by a wayward tyre ditto Massa and the swaybar.... the young guy at Brands Hatch earlier this year....there is no way a person would knowingly write off his championship with injury, a lifetime of blended foods, straws and wheelchairs or death!!!! LOL you get the drift of what i am trying to say?
  6. Neat car, good to see if finally got a good home!
  7. Whereabout do you live...i am trying to pick the streetscape ?
  8. A dollar spent on the Skyline is a dollar wasted that should be spent on the Radical...you have a real car and should be driving the wheels off the thing. If you want to punt a mushy, heavy road car then we can swap keys
  9. You will end up making them yourselves as there isnt any other way to get them cheaply. Especially since you want 35mm thick fronts which means you are looking at racing rotors. A few years back V8s used 355x35s and it was pretty easy to get that sized rotor for about $550 each. Now that they run 376mm rotors the 355x35mm Brembo and AP rotors are now around $700 each + Hats. SO, for the front, you are looking at around 2K for rotor and hat, 700-800 for mounts because the big Porka caliper calls for a rather more complex mount. You then are looking at around $1500 for rear rotors and about 500-600 for the mounts. Dont you just hate brakes!!!!
  10. Looks horribly wet in Race 3. The grunty V8 Commies looked to be good things in the wet
  11. Mine is now in the centre console. And thanks for the positive posts , cheers!
  12. We decided at the pub that he should change his name to Australias Mark Webber. Come on Australias! Channel 10s coverage sh1ts me to tears! Oh...and RBR think the drivers have to do it on their own...they have one chance and that is Brazil, you have to think Massa is going to be a strong chance to win there and that means he will be moving over for Alonso so if its a Ferrari 1-2 then RBR could be licking their wounds well before the final lap of aAbu Dhabi http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...one/9122092.stm
  13. Will be interesting. If you look back on the year, Mark has had some good fortune but he has made two costly mistakes with his back flip when he should have bagged some very good points and again yesterday, his mistake looping it. But, if RBR want to win, Vettel is now 25 points off the WDC, and with two races to go, and Massa being so strong in Brazil then you have to think a podium in Brazil will be hard to come by with Hamo, Massa, Alonso and the RBR pilots fighting for a step. So, even if Vettel wins remaining two GPs that most likely wont be enough for him to win. If Mark has two strong finishes then he is a good chance of beating Alonso...especially if they can put Vettel between Mark and Alonso Will be interesting....but great to see Button have to hold his hand up and say I suck and will not retain my title of pretty lucky guy to have won a WDC. It is easy to be critical of the guy, but he had such a car advantage early on in the season that when he had only one of the best 3 cars he struggled and now that we have seen him alongside Hamo we see that he cant drive a car that isnt perfect, finishing well below what the car is capable of.
  14. I think i bought it off ebay or online somewhere...cant remember. It has been laying around for along while until i got a harness to move the aircon controls
  15. Webber did himself no favours today. A little bit guted for him...but perhaps a good thing as it will no doubt galvanise him for the remaining two races...and he still has the fastest car out there. But he should have inherited a win today and bagged a 21 point lead in the championship. The important thing is he is till in front of vettel and you have to think with only 2 GPs to go RBR will be making sure Webber is ahead of Vettel getting max points to catch Alonso
  16. its just a sheet of carbon with a few holes cut into it
  17. Housemate is a Subie boy and says a good number of club guys are running them with happy owners
  18. Well, just need ome velcro for Blitz gear and centre console is finished. Next weekend will be making a better means of mounting the data logger on the column....never liked my old bracket. I am waiting for my injectors and thephenolic gasket to arrive before I throw the Plazmaman on. I may be doing it next weekend whcih will save me a quid rather then the mechanic doing it

  20. Will be an interesting race, cant see much overtaking with such a dirty track its going to be diabolical offline
  21. But Oktoberfest is late September So the garage sale of parts has started. Bye-bye all the Tomei RB24 gear
  22. In the final stages of finalising a contract to move back overseas with work, which means some parts I have in storage will be up for sale, if i get the right price then will part with them as they are costing me $210 a month to have in store (along with some furniture etc) - Brand new Tomei RB24 pistons. Increase bore to 82mm. Part No. 1112820112. Asking $1670 - Tomei RB20DET / VG30DETT Valve Springs for Procams or 10.35mm lift cams. Asking $380 - Tomei RB20/25/VG30 Solid Lifters and Tomei retainers for use with Procams (used) - $450 - Tomei Procams 10.35mm lift. Not sure if they are 260 or 270 duration. They come with a set of Tomei solid lifters. All are currently at engine machinest as they came out of an RB24 that suffered a catastrophic big end failure and upon receipt there were signs that the head had been starved of oil and cams are scored. Machinist is confirming duration and that they can be tidied up and used. Take cams as is with lifters for $300 or wait until I have had them inspected and repaired as/if required - Also have a new set of Apexi RB26 titanium retainers. They are heavier then i expected so surprised that they are titanium. They are Apexi and in the catalogue I have access to Apexi only list titanium RB26 retainers The Tomei lifters are perfect for RB25/30 builds that want to run the high lift Procams, though the valve springs are not suitable for the RB25 head. - Also have an R32 RB25 crank that has been balanced and oil drive collar installed. Comes with a set of std, balanced RB26 rods to suit. Asking $1000 bor crank and rods If you want a number of the components then will do a better price for a number of components. All you need to build a tough RB24 is here, pistons, rods, crank, valve springs, reatiners and lifters. Just chose the duration cam you want to run. Apart from the cams the gear is either new or in good condition ready to go. I have been pulling the bits together for a tough RB24 for a long time, but just cant see it happening anytime soon. Also have a Greddy Type R gate that has only seen a few hundred kms of dyno tuning and an RB26 block with near new N1 oil pump and water pump I need out of the way, so offers?
  23. I dont get it...why with 3 GPs to go would Horner be coming out and saying this tripe ... http://en.espnf1.com/redbull/motorsport/story/31746.html ? I think Webber is tough enough to not be concerned and get on with the job...but in a sport where inches matter and confidence / psychology are important why tip the scales???? Come on MARK! Love to see the Mclarens give Seb a chop...need to keep Massa away from the RBRs as Massa will be ruthless when racing the two RBRs
  24. No thanks...woudl rather continue to nurse my little bus along and maintain my record of not being a car breaker....just crasher
