  1. Looking good Dane. Do me a favour, and feel free to tell me to get stuffed...but i think the thing that will make your car will be the carbon flush fit headlight kit that deletes the pop up headlights. If Greg's Onevia was white i would have bought it already as my daily. I wuodl throw the headlight conversion on it and be stoked! I would then change my name to Ben and track spec my GTSt. It seems all the cool kids with track GTSts these days go by the name of Ben
  2. 356 by the looks of it, But be warned, with that sort of clearance a simple rock may end up machining your wheel and damaging your rotor...plus the Wedsport wheels typically are pretty good for brake clearance, with their cast wheels being similar to forged wheels for their ID clearance. For instance i can promise you that Work WD9s, AVS Model 5 and Model 6 wheels will not go remotely close to clearing the brakes in Duncan's picture
  3. If the Bens end up going Proflex, keep me in the loop. Good things come in threes 1180kg? Once i know how much my car owes me body wise i am keen to keep saving and get a carbon tailshaft and PPG gearset. Probably get better value out of that rather then upgrading suspension to Proflex from what i am currently running If you have a few dollars for an RB20 PM me as i have come up with a pretty good RB20 combo that i am also keen to try when i get back to Aus It will be perfect for what you guys are doing.
  4. So what is the plan for cage, suspension and running gear? Very interested to see what weight you end up getting the car down to. LOL, so many of the cool cars you see for sale or being built up are in Tas
  5. What is going on, people wasting all their hard earned only lowly GTSt. LOL if anyone wants to buy mine and save themselves a fortune
  6. Cant wait to see your results. I wanted a 300rwkw std RB20 But looks like you will get there first. i have upgraded my fuel system so i should be able to make it, had a 10cm housing for the 20G, have the new Plazmaman inlet and 6boost manifold...so i had enough new/better stuff to hve made it. Still mega keen to be running this stuff when i get back
  7. What ECU are you using now? Link?
  8. Well i have a Plazmaman manifold laying at my place. My car is still at the panel shop and i am still working in India. So if you want to trial it on your car to see if its better then what you already have. Either buy your own or just buy one and replace mine. We can come to some arrangement. Personally, i think that multi throttles are the way to go but the GTR ID is too big which means $$$$ to get smaller throttle bodies
  9. LOL, man if its real wet and raining go out with 34psi. If its damp and not raining go out with 32psi. At the end of the first sesssion jut check them and have a think about how they felt. LOL, thats what i would do...lol problem is it may not be the correct thing
  10. LOL, so if anybody stumbles accross one of those cranks in good condition then i will be interested
  11. What is the body like? If the body is free of rust and reasonably straight i would be very interested. VERY interested but needs to have a straight body
  12. You have not been reading the papers the last 3 years. It would save the State Govt 10million dollars a year if they just got shit faced drunk and naked and burnt $20 million in a big camp fire in the middle of Albert Park every year. The event loses money and costs the Melb tax payer lots of money. Shame to see community groups busting up more motoring events
  13. Yeh, but 4 doors, i would prefer a coupe:) And i will always have the lil 32 for getting stuck into some driving. I use to like driving the old Impala around. Its a shame my brother and I didnt get to use it as much as we planned. Some cars are special enough that you enjoy just plonking along in them...maybe its not for everybody, but HK Coupes, 60 Camaro and Stangs...i completely get them and you dotn even need to be "ripping burnouts" Anyway, seems like no Camaro. LOL, time for a PPG gearbox and carbon doors for the R32
  14. My car is slow by today's stds, sonds fast ad looks gay as its too high. If i deck it down to 325mm it will sound fast, look fast, and still be slow...so i have kind of made progress:) Be interesting when my car finally sees the road again how much good the E85 does on it with the new manifolds and bogger exhaust housing.
  15. So people do realise the BMW are dropping all in line 6s next model range. Ditto Ford, Merc and Holden already doing so. Nobody is making straight 6s. Does anybody actually make an all alloy straight 6? Didnt think so for pretty obvious reasons. Even the M engines are all cast iron blocks I can live with the death of the straight 6 if all the replacements are 2.5-4.0L V10s and But they wont be so it just sux
  16. I would be stoked with those results .... no flat spots
  17. Poor QLD raceway. Who designed it. Wasnt it funded by the state govt? How did they get it so wrong. I suspect it is the worst track in the country, my god it cant be worse then Calder? Yeh actually, Calder sux pretty hard. But any track is still awesome fun
  18. Firstly, i dont want this to turn into a vs debate. They are pointless, 1 n 40 people may change their mind based on what they read...otherwise its just a disagreement which is fine and good to see different views , but past that? That said... Is that the point though? Have you ever been in a Camaro of any year? Know anybody that owns one? I dont get the "...countless American cars" either? The GTR is a turbo 6 like countless Japanese cars. Its AWD like countless Japanese cars. It drops bottom ends like countress R32/33/34 Skylines. Its ceramic turbos fall apart like countless Skylines. Being more advanced and faster on the track means fark all to some people. Like me. I drive like a boring fart on the street. 32 years of age and never been booked for anyting. I, like many have my fun on the track where if you have done track work then you will know being fastest has very little to do with the fun aspect of it. Thats why i have a GTSt, whilst pretty well modded isnt as quick as half the newer cars getting around today....but people who have driven my car jump out understanding how it is loads of fun. So all i want is a car that i think is cool, sounds the part and has a few little modern comforts missing from the 60s muscle cars....making it a daily driver capable car. I dont want to track it. I bet less then 5% of performance car owners actually track their cars. AND, speaking personally, what is more advanced....in my eyes advancements are ruining cars. SHOVE YOUR PADDLE THINGY GEABOXES, SHOVE YOUR AWD, SHOVE YOUR TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITY CONTROL. Others may not share that view, but some may. I will for sure drive cars with all that fluff and enjoy them, they are different and still enjoyable, just different. You can stll enjoy butter scotch ice cream whilst still preferring chocolate almond Thats why they make different cars for different people. Hey, they actually make different cars for the same people, some are lucky enough to be able to afford them and enjoy the difference. LOL, sadly i am not one who can afford, though I sure as hell would enjoy them. But agree that they are not worth 150k, like i have said, no car is worth that much to me. Triple my income and i would rather work less and have a GTSt
  19. And occassionally dont come with the fittings they should. Or the wrong size fittings. Or with damaged threads, or end up denting your sumps. I hope they have got control of their quality again as during 2007-2008 it went to shit. Dont know what it is liek now
  20. Anybody understand why std RB20s dont breathe? Legend01 made 280rwkws at 1.5ish bar with a 3040 on a std motor...all good. AD4M made 300rwkws with a TD06-20G-16cm on std RB20 untl it melted a piston...no breathing. Ran a 12.00 in a manual 4dr. There mut be something inherently different in their designs ?
  21. COOL! Good luck with your plan. Sounds like a big adventure
  22. Still on yout first two laps really push for temperatures...in the wet you can really notice the grip difference when the tyres are hot. In my car its hard to feel the difference after the first lap, lol sure as shit know when they are gone though
  23. Come on Nick, you know me...can you really see me driving a rep mobile M3? They are a nice car but not for me... And at 70-80k i would buy a new one. Seriously, its the only car i would. Otherwise i will stick with my POS R32 GTSt, it does everything i need from a car, only isnt a muscle car Not for me Actully if not a new Camaro the only new car i think appeals to me is ..
  24. Dont forget that these kits were probably floating around when there was no RB25, the RB26 was very exotic, or perhaps even ates back to R31s when there were not RB26s. Have not seen them for sale for a few years, the last kit was in 2004 when i first moved to Melb and there was a HKS 2.4L kit for the RB20 on yahoo. Used its own pistons.
  25. Somebody posted earlier that the HKSA crank may have been the old 2.4L stroker crank for the RB20? Well looks like thats what it is based on this yahoo auction. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b101870199
