  1. If you need more room you can ditch the bonnet catch. I got rid of mine to make room for the oil cooler and replaced with locking aerocatch pins.
  2. I wouldn't know a bin file if I fell over it but someone else might if you attach it. Did you use a wideband to tune it? Dyno will give you better answers than just looking at the numbers.
  3. You can't easily get your R33 ecu "reflashed" so you will be better off with the R34 ecu (you can get that Nistuned).
  4. Depends on what pump you are using. I have an N1 pump RB30 block S2 head and I'm successfully using 2 x 1mm restrictors (street. track and to come - drags).
  5. Make sure whatever you use can be Nistuned if you are not getting a Link etc.
  6. Not without a ridiculous amount of work.
  7. And now 8s http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/418761-rips-mgawot-in-the-8s/
  8. Go the hypergear. Read the hypergear thread.
  9. All the info you need is at the top of the page under RB30 conversions. Then look at Rb30 Hybrid Upgrade, All Dyno Results to see what bits you need to make the desired power level.
  10. +1 for bin turbo timer - its just something else to go wrong.
  11. I think Rips latest engine in the Stagea will be revving at least 9000 but he is being a bit cagy about the actual size. I would guess its a 3.2 although he could be experimenting with something bigger.
  12. Ask Bass Junky what numbers he would need for a run. He should still have the patterns etc.
  13. Sorry can't delete my stupid post...
  14. I have had two cheap Chinese no name cam gears and both were fine. I was advised to replace the bolts with better ones but the engineering supplies shop said they were already of a high quality. Once you have finished tuning you can loktite them if you are nervous. Sometimes the gradations are back to front but that shouldn't be a problem if you know what you are doing. The actual markings seem perfectly ok but in any case all the tuner is really doing is turning a little one way then the other till the dyno gives the answer. In short I see no reason to buy a $350 gear instead of a $70 one.
  15. Genuine part in Melbourne $438: http://www.ebay.com....=item2323a63303 Second hand one in Adelaide ($179): http://www.ebay.com....=item416e9db24c Cheaper second hand one in NZ (I could get it for you if you want -about $100 posted): http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/nissan/electrics/auction-553161714.htm
  16. Nearly all S1 Stageas had the R33 S2 motor with metal Mitsubishi CAS. The very last of the series though had the Plastic covered Hitachi CAS. Maybe you can remember seeing the Mitsubishi logo on it?
  17. I have had my Walbro for four about years. Hard wired it when I got the highflow making around 250awkw - for the last year or so its just been a lift pump - still going strong.
  18. Your leakdown test was what I understand to be in the unacceptable range (15% leak) so yes there is an underlying problem. Who did the leakdown test and did they offer any analysis? My engine runs fine without fouling plugs - my compressions are way below yours but a leakdown test resulted in 5% to 8% range - not flash but I have no discernable problems.I am not suggesting that incorrect heat range for the plugs is your problem - I'm just suggesting you try a hotter plug (or full set if you're so inclined) to see if it will fix your symptoms short of pulling the engine and stripping it down.
  19. Just put the hotter plug in #6. There's no reaon why it will "prolong the fouling". It will either cure it or it won't.
  20. AWD auto and manual you can use the same driveshaft but you'll have to ask Ian if they had to make changes to his 2wd driveshaft.
  21. 15% leakdown is not good. How does it compare with the others? Try a hotter plug in that cylinder.
  22. I suspect that the base timing is all they have done because it can be changed by altering the CAS. It should be simple to tell if you have been ripped off or not. They should be able to supply you with before and after charts showing the power curve, torque curve, boost and afrs. Sounds like you should get a nistune chip and check on this forum or ask people from your area for an experienced RB tuner.
  23. IFF they are able to alter timing and afrs it will be fine.
