My Stagea Is Really Starting To S*#t Me
KiwiRS4T replied to msports180's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Your mood is understandable. Lock the car in the garage and have a few cold drinks and look at it again in a few days. Why do you think you're running lean? Do you have a wideband sensor? the most likely fix for overheating or even just temp guage rising, esp when using aircond (yes i know aircond is a sore point ATM) is a new radiator core. And don't buy a 4wd - they are more likely to crash and more likely to injure occupants if they do! -
Buyer's Guide - The Nissan C34 Stagea
KiwiRS4T replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I have a series 1 and I love the look. The M35 don't look as cool in the photos but to be honest in the metal they are quite a good looking car. Apart from appearance the main difference i would say (people's opinions will vary) is that the M35 is more modern and better equipped from stock but the S1 and S2 have much more go faster gear available if you're into that kind of thing (like me). But the M35 turbo with just a decent exhaust and some better suspension is pretty rapid. -
That is the S1 pinout. I have the most common ecu #23740 OV300 and I have fitted boost controller, SAFC, SITC, Innovate wide band sensor, speed limiter cut and identified power sources and earths no problem. There are two other S1 ecu types.. there was a long thread a while back by people trying to install aPFC

That's the one (in the DIY section above). Works for S1 stageas.

260rs S1 Suspension/coliovers What To Get?
KiwiRS4T replied to chef_stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I second rb26stagea's comments. The need is obvious when you look at the huge expanse of metal behind the driver without so much as a parcel shelf to hold it together let alone the rear bulkhead of a saloon car. I got a greddy rear strut brace through the mini group buy and the brackets bolt to the tops of the rear sruts and the bar is attached by a hex headed bolt and nut so if i need to transport a fridge/freezer I can pull the bar out in less than one minute. (Excuse the mess in the photo background - I am currently wrecking this car but the bar will be going in my new Stagea) -
Aftermarket Radiator For S1 Autech 260rs
KiwiRS4T replied to Mathias1986's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
What I do is go to a radiator shop and ask them for the options for bigger radiator. From their database (or experience if they are any good) they will look at your stocker and note where the connections are and should be able to offer you a range of alternatives (price and size). -
260rs S1 Suspension/coliovers What To Get?
KiwiRS4T replied to chef_stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I think some people confuse the terms "coilovers" and "coil springs". Stageas have seperate shock absorbers (dampers) and coil springs. A change to unitary coilovers (google the term) in NZ at least, requres certification and is anyway not recommended unless you have the need (for regular adjustment -say beteen different tracks and normal road use) and the money -cheap coilovers tend to be nasty and good ones will be quite expensive. -
260rs S1 Suspension/coliovers What To Get?
KiwiRS4T replied to chef_stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Read the first few pages of the suspension thread to get some idea. Main conclusion Bilsteins for everyone, tailored for max handling or ride, rear sway bar upgrade will improve cornering with no detriment to ride comfort and springs are a matter of choice Eibach come from the people who brought you Bilsteins, Teins can be fierce, low mileage cars try keeping your stock springs with new Bilsteins. -
This guy sells the complete cv joint for less than Nissan charges for the boot. He may also be able to supply the boot only. Send him a question quoting your engine no and other details he asks for and ask if he will post to AU. (if he doessn't but he has the item I could get it for you and post it but i am hoping he does because a number of other members have indicated interest). http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-201624551.htm

As aboveHere is an ecu that should do the job - you would probably get it for $100 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-201804598.htm or for a little more: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-202194379.htm

Uk Stagea Owners Club Now Started
KiwiRS4T replied to RSVFOURUK's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Well done. I was under the impression there were only 2 or 3 Stageas over there. Now you'll have to have a rally and impress the locals with your unique cars! -
My teins cost $300 for four. My height is determined by the settings on the Bilsteins - lowered about 35mmps I am not saying to get teins ..mine are a bit on the hard side... but they were not expensive. If your car hasn't done too many Km you could try just getting the Bilsteins and change the springs later if necessary/desired.

Can do you one bolt and front cupholders for AU$35 posted. -
He's talking bollocks. Have a look in your phone book and look for a proper suspension shop - possibly a race supension specialist. if oyur Stagea is lowered 30 mm or so you can still get proper alignment with the right parts (and I'm not taking repalcement arms) but if you've dropped it to the ground you could have problems!
-
Well you could be right but I would be surprised if anyone was selling half a cv joint. I took it that the inner joint referred to was the one at the inside end of the half shaft. I guess if someone is going to buy they could ask the question first ...and anyway its cheaper than Nissan want just for the boot! (BTW today is a public holiday in NZ so you may not get a reply until tomorrow)
-
This looks like the complete thing - joint and boot for NZ$55 + postage:http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-201624551.htm Aussies can join Trade Me and most suppliers will post to Aus for a few dollars more postage. You could ask this guy if he does boots only but even with the complete Joint its less than $74 (ps if they won't post to AU and you can wait I'll get what you want and post it)
-
Dunno but when they replaced my windscreen they took down the tint number (apparently there are three or more different ones ) to make sure they matched it. Just ring your local windscreen replacement outfit and if they don't know the answer tell them to find out - shouldn't be too hard.

If you have a stagea with three rows of pins in your ecu it is probabll as per the pinouts in the DIY section above^

THis is a joke? Wrote the car off after hitting a culvert after running off the road - airbags and seatbelts saved my life - they won't be much good to you. -
