  1. Yeah these tyres are full slicks; they have about 1mm of tread depth inside the dimple remaining, so i have NFI how much that is relative to new, or how these will go really. I got the hub locator today, fits perfect. About 10kg per corner weight saving is massive. And how cheap are these relative to say a Rays TE37? I suppose the rays wheel would be a better item, but at least $1000 more, EACH.
  2. I've previosuly been running Enkei GTC01's in 18x10" on the track, with 295 RE55's - they have been great. However Enkie only make these rims with a 22mm offset, with the wheel sticking out on the front, which is not ideal, and tucked in on the rear. However some new wheels came in last week. They are "Rota" 18x10x15 and 18x9.5x30. I think these are the ideal offsets for the staggered setup that our R35 needs. Now i have got hold of some (2nd hand) Porsche Cup Michelin 270/68/18's which fit these wheels PERFECTLY. There are some things to sort out (make sure caliper clearance is ok, it is not touching but it is VERY close) and i need a correct size hub locator. When i have tested all this out i will report back. Total cost for this setup thus far is $2300 INCLUDING tyres. Here's the best bit.... total weight per corner is 20.9kg. That's a saving of 10kg for the rears and 9.5kg for the fronts (vs stocker bridgestones). PM me if you are interested in buying the wheels and/or tyres. However as mentioned i still need to make sure they work on the track I have high hopes.
  3. Cheers, thanks for that. 8.30 it is.
  4. Richard, as far as i know you cant get RE55's or the Dunlops in 19" - this is the reason i went with 18's You can of course get 888's now in 19" and even 20" but to be frank i dont think they are suited to the R35. Btw, i just yesterday picked up some new 18's with more appropriate offset (30mm fronts, 15mm backs) and put some Porsche Cup slicks on them. Should be trying them very soon
  5. Looks like the weather might be "interesting" on Sunday. Given i just got slicks, i may not be able to run. Question: what is the latest time we can present for scruitineering? thx.
  6. Big thanks for that info, much appreciated. With only one round to go i am leaving things as they are. But definitely interested in the swaybar option, especially given cost and ease of install
  7. LOL! I am sure it's great/entertaining regardless. I'll need one of these more linear tunes too in the near future, looking forward to it.
  8. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the results Munro. My current tune (distinct from yours) comes on with a massive rush. So whilst it's "bad" when driving in anger at the track (it induces wheelspin if you run VDC on) it's actually quite exciting for the street, provided you dont go too nuts. A bit rollercoaster like. A more progressive application of power may not be as "exciting" though. I am sure an argument will be mnade that it's better/safer for your engine (to have a more progressive application of power) but i am left wondering how entertaining it will be in comparison.
  9. Great, will there be a published/accepted entry list? So where are the other Sydney R35's, cmon boys and girls, should be great fun. South circuit, all you need to know is "turn left!!"
  10. Just sent payment, group 1 please Hope there are still spots available.
  11. Just sent money through today, hope there is still room
  12. $1200 sounds relatively good priced, and the sway bars just bolt off and on dont they? I mean you dot need to drop any major components to fit them right? With Bathurst, is that the "drive bathurst" event? Any details?
  13. No but tempted to look at the swaybars. Anyt suggestions? I heard that Whiteline are working on a prototype for the 35.
  14. AP Replacement rotors, tried Carbotech XP12 pads (too noisy for the street though) & Ferodo DS2500's (good for the street, not as good for track). Motul diff fluid, Mobil engine Oil, Willall trans fluid & Brembo LCF 600 brake fluid. That's about it i think. As for rules, they are here: http://www.supersprints.com.au/rules-and-r...Regs%202009.pdf It depends on the class. In 2D (the class i am entered) rotors and pads are "free" to use whatever you like provided they are not increased in size really. cheers
  15. Done about 12 track days thus far, with another two this year. I swap out trans, diff and brake fluids in my garage. Can't afford to use Nissan (too exxy and their fluids arent as good anyway) so do it myself. Replaced rotors & pads too, easy. That's about it. Car has been bulletproof thus far.
  16. Looks great. Does anyone in Australia/Sydney do this, is it exxy and does it wreck the underlying paint?
  17. Well this is it, the final round of the NSW sprint championship will be held at a Day/Night meeting at Oran Park, Saturday 17th of October. It's relatively crowded at the top for outright points, with only 1 point separating the top three for the State title.... (I dunno why they have 2010 on the point sheet, typo maybe) Anyway given the R35 has already won my type (2) and class (2D) championship, i'll probably be running a tune + slicks + reduced weight, and enter in class 4D, to enhance chances for outright points on the day. Depends on what happens at an upcoming test day, who knows maybe i will go backwards. Anyone run slicks on an R35 around a circuit? Any tips?
  18. This is exactly what i found. The 0~100km/hr was slower on the WSID prepped surface, which sort of had me stumped. What you say makes sense.
  19. Nice, congats on that sub 3 second time. That is just insane for a street car, and on the street no less. A lot of quick cars at the strip would have a hard time getting that 0-100 on a prepared surface let alone the street.
  20. Good stuff. Was that with the new tyres? Also, was the 2.9s run with VDC on?
  21. certainly hope i do significantly better than a 50 or 49!
  22. Great vids Stuart. That i-race stuff is a bit crazy. And the 15.x at OPGP was great, nice work mate.
  23. so the original 7:38 time has been replicated by a car mag, surprise surprise. - who was driving? Makes you wonder how/why Porsche test drivers just couldnt do better than a 7:54 in a GTR oh hang on, no need to wonder, it's actually pretty obvious really
  24. Let me know how you go with the Dunlops, very interested ion getting a set soon too.
  25. It says somewhere in the article they had dramas removing the carbon undertray which meant they couldnt dyno the car, probably due to clearance issues (or maybe they didnt want to get it dirty, lol). Maybe it has an aftermarket undertray? anyway i removed my complete undertray in my garage with $2 tools, so dunno what's up with that. And yeah it should have about 340awkw. Their estimates are a bit rubbery. Interesting article though.
