  1. Congrats on the time, are you now banned from the track, are you going back? Last week i ran 11.1@125mph (at WSID) mods were mid pipe and AP tune (everything else stock, inculding wheels and tyres - bridgestones). I might go out next week with some better/lighter wheels and tyres to see if i can get a "10"..
  2. Well half of that budget would be what i spend on tyres each year. The other half could be some nice seats, harness, and maybe some coilovers.
  3. Thanks Martin, yeah 125mph is haulin for such a heavy car. Here is a 125mph run (11.3's though) ignore the reaction time as the driver was frigging around with launch control
  4. 11.1 @ 125mph ADM, Willall midpipe, Cobb (RE Customs mail order tune), stock wheels/tyres
  5. I watched an R35 at an Eastern Creek (WSID) day today run 11.1 and 125mph with the RE Customs AccessPORT tune in it. This was a tune file as emailed by RE Customs, flash it in and bam 125mph. Car has a mid pipe and was running full weight, stocker wheels and tyres. 125mph tells the story, GREAT work RE Customs. I'll post up details later, perhaps some pics and video. i am shagged right now, looong day!
  6. sounds great please keep us posted on the event, pics and vids!

    Accessport

flashing an R35 right now, with the RE Customs tune. Taking the car to WSID this Sunday for a shakedown! results soon
  8. Interesting Martin. With the sway bars, how difficult (or otherwise) was it to fit the front and rear ones? The front one looks easier than the rear?

    Servicing Fees

Weight saving strategy? ha ha There is probably some method behind the madness. But i would put i in the same bucket as nitrogen filled tyres. Basically a wank for casual weekend warrior stuff.
  10. How many runs did you do and what mode did you find works best? Did you use manual or auto shift? Did you use LC? thx!
  11. Wow that's a cheap group A - i have seen good examples for about $140k maybe the financial crisis is hitting hard! time to load up on classic dunnydores.
  12. Have you seen how much blue meanies go for? aka Group A VK Having said that, you can get W427's today for about $150k, so i find it a bit odd that someone is paying $190k. Personally i dont see W447's appreciating (unless you lock them up for 20 years). They will probably hold their value well though.
  13. Cheers Kel. Any pics of the R34 on the track?
  14. Dunno about the donut king car but a stocker R35 seems to be good for a 1:45 or thereabouts at EC. I am sure better in the hands of a pro.
  15. I've neve had a PS fluid overflow yet, or any other fluids. With brake fluid, i always bleed after a track day (or just before). I think the OEM fluid is about $160 a litre, however i switched to Brembo LCF 600 which i is about $50/bottle (500ml). I completely flushed the OEM fluid out when i changed the rotors and pads. I am not paying $160/litre for brake fluid, given how much i am going to use over the next year.
  16. Hi guys has anyone fitted race seats to their R35? I find the stockers quite good, but i'm after a significant weight saving. If anyone has actually fitted some, i would love to hear about how you did it (including seat rail setup), what you fitted and price etc. Also, once you disconnect the factory seats, i assume you get a dash light about the airbags??. If you put the seats back in, does the airbag light reset itself, or you you need to visit nissan to reset the light?. Can the Cobb accessport reset such lights? cheers
  17. I've done 10 track days in about 4 months and never once reduced fluid levels, no adverse issues experienced thus far. What's the reasoning behind it all? Sounds like BS to me. I guess some fluids might get hot/expand with some overflow? I've never seen it happen if that is of any help.
  18. a friend of mine has done this and he got a 14awkw gain with the midpipe (no tune done).
  19. $15k DD is just silly. I thought $5k was bad enough, but i paid it, given the hilarity and mystery of getting on "the list" at the time etc.

    Servicing Fees

How ridiculous, $1000 to do basic checks before and after a track day. Guess that means i've saved $10,000 thus far. Another 6 months and i would have saved enough to buy a new transmission.
  21. In Sydney i love OPGP, it has so much character. Facilities have been let go ovbiously, but the place just has something i can't put my finger on. I wish something could be done to keep it going. If anyone knows the owner/developer please convince them to build a motorsport community of houses surrounding the track (stuff these golf communities!) i will be the first to buy a block.
  22. Just noticed this thread. It was a top day with awesome weather, best day we've had all year i reckon. It was great catching up with a few of you, and those i havent yet, i will try to next time around. Great video Neil!
  23. Stuart, emailed you link to OP footage. Woudl love to hear about these GTR secrets, i think i am going to need it!
  24. Actually i know of a few that have run up close to 260kw - depends on the dyno. What's important is the gain, and i believe they have since backed it up on another (much higher reading) dyno since as well.
  25. Ditto, those gains are insane!
