  1. from memory there is a plug that goes into the +'ve terminal too, mine was loose on my 32 just use the wiggle method, start the car, wiggle wires and stuff and listen for the motor to change its tune
  2. send it to hypergear, $800 and it will come back with better steel wheels and will flow about 250rwkw easily
  3. Wanted: someone to change my clutch for me (in the corolla)
  4. yeah, the setup that hypergear recommends some silicone elbows and some 3 inch pipe, have a look in his turbo thread for more details
  5. its a combo of heat from the manifold heat softening the rubber and the vacuum on that mine is sleeved twice with 3 inch exhaust pipe, at both sections of ribbing
  6. pretty sure thats the little black box that sits on the firewall above the motor its a map sensor and once that sees 1bar it triggers a fault in the ecu
  7. i reckon it would be on the cards i know that probably 2 other stags would come at least there is about 6 or 7 manual ones in launceston alone!
  8. i want to know when the next drags are on i'm keen to run the stagea and see whats sort of time it will run
  9. i wouldn't mind knowing a bit more about this g3 profile with the fnt built into the housing
  10. just to mix it up a bit the rb26's are getting pretty old these days and the rb25 neo is only down about 80cc's on the 26 but has the vct and apparently the neo head flows better so it could be worth looking at a rsfour-s (factory manual series 2) either way, i think any stagea needs a 3 litre bottom end fuel wise, i get nearly 10l/100km on the highway (with the neo which is supposed to be a little more efficient) and about 12-15 around town
  11. probably have blown a cooler pipe off
  12. it won't work man, its an m35 you have to invert them and bleed it from the sump
  13. yiew, remsa pads ordered from gsl rallysport apparently they are better than the hpx's but not as agressive as the ar1m's got a set of fronts coming for the stagea and the corolla i also added some urethane goo to the front engine mount on the corolla super-dodgy fix ftw!
  14. could be the afm pins coming loose http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/113284-fixing-your-rb26-afms/
  15. anyone got some cheap wideish wheels? something like 17x9 or 18x9 (same width all round, maybe even down to an 8.5) with or without tyres and lowish offset if anything is about i'll save up some cash
  16. i'm the same, i've had the stagea for about 18 months now and i've always wanted one but now i wan't something else whats the spec on those wheels too? thats how i want wheels to sit on mine
  17. wooooo finally washed my car, its yellow again you guys have it easy, i get paid about $300/week and i get by i suppose thats what i get for going to uni, can't wait to graduate and be on $70k starting salary oh, and if anyone needs it, i'll be able to FEA (finite element analysis) by the end of the semester
  18. there is no denying it, the stagea can get a fair way off road, so long as its not lumpy and bumpy the driver could also have something to do with it
  19. ok, sorry i overreacted a little just making sure everyone knows
  20. arghhhhhhhhhhhhh you can't compare torque figures from rolling road dynos its tractive effort which is a factor of wheel size, tyre profile, gear ratios, diff ratios and lots of other stuff only true way to get a torque reading is on an engine dyno
  21. i was always under the assumption that 4wd was selectable and involved a proper centre diff with gears and things that go clunk (and maybe high/lo range) pretty sure awd is when you have a transfer case like ours
  22. you'd probably be fine unless you own an ARX which is 4wd height off the ground
  23. nope, not 4wd, they are AWD
  24. my corolla is alive!!!!!!!!! now to fix a few things on the stagea
  25. was your new clutch a heavy duty one? they tent to shatter the pivot ball
