Not only that, i think they were 'optional' as i have a 98 with standard Series II bodykit.

I do agree, but then again, I'm in the 'middle' stage just as you have described. Had the turbo done recently and 'want' a retune.....but, I don't suffer the bad fuel econ. or misfiring, it's just not on FULL potential. Very soon i will have fuel pump/injectors/AFM and most definately will be paying for a FULL retune. I'm quite happy to commute every day on low throttle and lose out on the full potential. I know it's coming and I'm a patient man. Also, i went back to my original FC tuner (rang him anyway) and said that i wanted the new setup to be tweeked to match the new turbo....New turbo being the only change. Pretty much full price again. I can't afford to pay that twice. Details were : Original - FMIC/Pod/Zorst/Power FC on 12psi (194rwkws, the usual for R33) After - Same as above with HKS2535, wanted 12psi there too, does that warrant a full tune again? ..asking as i really don't know but would have thought that 70-80% of the work is already done???? Result - So now on 10psi and low throttle with no change to tune.

Won't have to modify dump or exhaust....but on that note, if you haven't put a 3inch front/dump on yet, when you're swapping the turbo is your perfect oportunity to do it. (and it's pretty much a 'must have' for an upgraded turbo) I've just swapped out mine (R33) for a HKS 2535, i think it would be considered the predecessor of the GT-RS. Perfect bolt on except i didn't have the lines (which you will) It will be like playing with lego, grown up style. jump on nengun and you can plug your car details in and search for the turbo kit. Do it twice, once for R33, once for R34 and see if you get the same kit and that should answer your original question.

3 things...haha

I'll quickly add 2 things for you : 1) people selling new or near new EBC quote Aus prices when everyone knows full well you can get em quite cheap thru Nengun....but they still try. eg. Haggled for a Profec II 2nd hand, wouldn't go below $330. It's 2nd hand !! and new delivered at the time of $380ish. I'd go new anyday. 2) Annnnnd, peeps pay $250-$300 for 2nd hand pieces of shit???? why, i do not know. And i'm talking 5+ year old stuff. I bet the solenoid is at the end of it's life. 3) Aus dollar is going great guns at the moment. Profec Spec-ii thru nengun is $370 delivered ! Crickey! The FC add on is $350 ( i paid $363, 2 weeks ago) That's freegan cheap man !

I've done it once. ..and did it in various stages. Figuring out the front bar was hard enough so i did that on 1 day. (removing it) Vaguely figured out the postioning ofthe FMIC another day. Put it all back and drove around for a few weeks. Came back to it another weekend and went for it. Started Sat and finished Sun

MMM - PM sent Everyone else, these are currently going for $340 delivered from Greenline. I couldn't pass it up, it's on its way!
-
That setup has about 4 different guides in the DIY section. Maybe not complete step by step guides but pics and hints given general good info of where everything goes. Don't be scared to cut the reo bar and the front plastic bar. And you WILL need to cut a hole thru the engine bay wall to feed the piping thru. Just make sure you've lined it up 10 times before cutting.... Good luck

So the Nismo pump sits in the same spot as the standard? I've seen pics of the Tomei one and it's further up the bracket with a longer bottom fuel line to reach the sock
-
I'f you're prepared to pay New price, may aswell go nengun or greenline. 360 delivered for Power FC add on kit. I believe the Profec Spec II is about $380 delivered. Most are under $400 unless you want the real bling items. Way to go i reckon
-
The other point to remember is that the Tomei one (so i guess the Nismo aswell) is the same part number for the s14 so maybe that car needs it more and they just make the one packaging for both cars.

Slide Turbo, Induction Noise, Flutter
Birnie replied to MANWHORE's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Maybe it's time to go aftermarket BOV. I'm thinking about it if i can find a decent 2nd hand one with plumback. (that isn't frigin bright blue!) -
Does Walbro Make A Direct Fit Fuel Pump?
Birnie replied to R33GOD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Tomei pump for me as already stated - $340 delivered from Greenline. Didn't want the Walbro as too many experienced people have had issues with them. Bosche was looking OK but for $230ish, i'd rather pay the extra $110 and get i higher powered, direct fit replacement. Considering it's made to fit with rubber seals on the bracket, it should run silent to. This from nengun site : 248 L/h (Standard 136 L\h) That's nearly double ! -
I think I've seen the injectors hit around the 90 mark at some point but i haven't been pushing it for awhile now as I've upgraded turbo and the tune is not right. So I'm on light foot driving until tuned/upgraded some more. Fuel pump was standard with no FPR..ie standard pressure. No probs there. Yes, S15's will be going in (got em already) Tomei fuel pump as soon as it arrives. And Z32 (got that too) Hoping for 250rwkws, yeah !
-
I think i remember seeing them installed between the pump and the screw-top for the tank..ie just above the pump itself if anywhere. I just ordered the Tomei pump today too for the same reason as you. Well, actually the main reason is the no noise factor. It will run completely silent due to the ready made bracket and rubber housing. Looking forward to putting mine in too
-
Not 100% sure but the guy who did the DIY thread on the Tomei pump had the same valve and i believe he didn't bother. Apart from pump brand, the kit is similar to yours and has the same parts. last i was there, it was lurking in the first page of the DIYs How much was it? '98 R33, nice one brother !

Hey guys, either of the above to upgrade my R33 GTSt fuel pump. Some cash your way of course to go towards upgrading your own. In working order of course (already have a dodgey R33 GTR pump) GTR pump only please R32 - pass R33 - $60 R34 - $90 Thanks Birnie (Sydney <--> Gosford)

1 thing to get, power FC and tune Personally, i'd stay on 12psi but you can go a tad higher if you want. Some people go less to be even safer. There's heaps of standard turbo results in this thread, happy reading... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...5845&st=260

for 194ish, no need for pump/AFM/turbo upgrade No need for fuel cut defender if Power FC or equivelant is used (SAFC i don't know) $$$ saved everywhere so go get that ECU already
-
Just to be clear (cause i often leave bits out) My setup was the same as in same standard turbo too. Your car is basically the same as mine minus the Power FC. and that made 194kws. Have you drivin a car with that power? It's impressive stuff. It doens't sound much as there are so many high powred cars on here but they all probably went thru the same as you and I. I can't comment much on the SAFC but i was on 10psi with no FMIC. The after tune ride home didn't feal that different. It did feal better but it was more of a shrug the shoulders and yeah, it's better i guess type fealing. Putting in the new POwer FC without it being tuned felt like an SAFCx10 ! and better again after the tune. I can see in you responses there is the 'trying to save a buck' fealing in there and I'm the worst for it if (if you can find my response to GTR fuel pumps you'll see) ...but just dump the SAFC idea altogether man, you won't regret it
-
Above post refers to no change to AFM or fuel pump and getting 194rwkws from a Hitman tune in Penrith. (some see a tad more) Fuel pump and AFM is one of my next mods but I've upgraded turbo too so don't worry about those yet until you do the same.
-
You have an identical setup to what i used to have. (about 2 months ago) FMIC/Pod/3inch zorst/12psi. On that setup it felt pretty damn good. My next upgrade (and i recommend your next) was the ECU ! The best mod ever.... It sucks about the cost but it;s the natural next step. Do it! The SAFC is only 25% (if that) of an ECU anyway and will cost you $500 to buy and tune. ..and after that, you'll remove it and replace with a full ECU anyway. How would i know? cause that's exactly what i did (and probably others) So you might save $1000 now but you'll just end up spending it later anyway and when you do, you'll be going Woohoo! why didn't i do this before ! Do a couple more overtime shifts/ a paper run/ (the wall hahaha). just find the cash, buy the ECU, watch it get tuned, feal the smile on your face as you watch it come alive on the dyno and bigger grin yet when you drive home.

Nismo R33gtr Fuel Pump In Other Nissans
Birnie replied to 32vspecII's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I keep getting in the viscous money loop of : $100 - GTR Pump, not bad but if I'm going to do that, may as well get : $220 - Bosch new but if I'm going to do that, might as well get: $350 - Tomei full replacement/upgrade kit from Greenline (latest quote delivered) great pump, made to fit and no noise issues. ...then i go $350, hmmmm, i used to be at $100 and now $350? Then i go back to the GTR pump for $100 and start all over again. Haha
