How Long Did It Take To Install Your Just Jap Fmic Kit?
Birnie replied to WTF-33R's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had never done this before and bought a unbranded kit off ebay.. No instructions so got the Hybrid ones which are close. Took my time and did it bit by bit with no help. Took a few weeks to get the courage to go full-on and finish it. CUt the front bar and a few odd bits on days here and there. Removed the front bar and replaced about 8 times bofore finishing. When i finally went for it and removed the SMIC/drilled/cut/smoothed edges...ie complete fit did overnight. Very satisfying ! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...110032&st=0 -
Thanks guys, I need to get some injectors flow tested so I'll take the pump with me and see if they can check it somehow. Thanks guys.

I'm aiming for the same target. 250. I've bought but not installed the following : Z32 with a Tomei plug - New from someone offloading - $250 Mixed 2nd hand and new 480cc S15 injectors - $500 (but have 2 extra) 2nd hand HKS 2535 - $1200. These plus a retune ($$ ??) should get me there. PS. There's a Highflow GCG for sale right now in parts section. That would do the trick. R31Nismoid - A New diff ! Oh crap!

I guess i better add that i don't even know if it's for sale, but if you look and like, I'll find out for you...

Hi Liz, My neighbour has recently had a Gazelle done up with a SR20 and finally got it on he road. He had a second one which he raped for parts which is sitting at the Throttle Shop in Gosford. I have no idea on condition but if your up at Gosford you may aswell check it out. If you do go, it's the last car on the right (i think) He's on Hol's at the moment so I cant ask about it. I'll let you know later though if interested. Would definatley need alot of work. Sorry to hear of you loss by the way..poor little Silvia I can't believe it after all the hype around that car too. Everyone was hanging to see it then, finally on the road then whamo ! Well, i was lucky enough to see at least once Take it easy! Birnie

S15 Sr20det Injector Details Please .
Birnie replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oh yeah, the 'squarish ones fit over the pin'.... they don't see any fuel or any rubbing and I see no reason why they would need replacing. If someone finds out what the top ones are, i'd love to know! Can't see anywhere they'd go, unless it's somewhere between the actual rail and the engine. -
As stated, a HKS elbow for the intake to suit HKS 2535 Thanks Birnie

Birnie replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
When i got the 2nd hand ones, they came still attatched to a SR20 rail so i have som idea. Bottom up (from plastic packages pic) 4th - the little seal on the bottom of the injector 3rd - the big seal near the top of the injector 2nd - these little squarish ones fit over the pin on top of the injector and the half moon/2 screw/metal bracket thats screwed to the rail, holding em in place presses on this to hold the injector in...so the metal doesn't actually touch the injector. (check a pic in the DIY/changing injectors thread) 1st - I have no idea, just came with the batch ?? -
If you aren't running too much boost, it probably is best just replacing your bleeder. I'm on 12psi and PowerFC. It fluctuates but i can't tell from the driver seat. Here's the curve......

Hey Dude/ettes, Bought some stuff from Japan and a 2nd hand R33-GTR fuel pump was included which was a bonus. Now i have it, all hoses have been chopped off, which is fine. It's just the bare unit. The side with 2 holes (both with threads i think), 1 hole you can see a black plastic pin hanging there. If i shake the pump, i can hear something loose but can tell if it's that pin. Does this sound normal to people in the know? If this thing is all good, it's gunna save me another $200 so i would like to use it and I'm only heading for 250rwkws so it's well up to the task. Can i somehow wire it up (not in the car) on a bench somehow and test it? Thanks Birnie

Yep..Super stealth !

S15 Sr20det Injector Details Please .
Birnie replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If someone could elaborate on this it could be useful. Don't know where it was sourced from but considering all the theories on what these flow, it may help. Looks like standard fuel pressure is 450cc and up to 525cc's under the right pressure? (not sure if I'm reading it correctly) http://www.williams.co.tt/s15/inj_side-en.htm -
Thanks guys for your replies. I think I'll just throw it on, when i figure out how, and see how it goes and keep the standard one the shelf for emergencies.

Hey everyone, Just got hold of a 2nd hand turbo (HKS 2535) which seems to be in good nic, not that i'd realy know but it looks good and bugger all play in it. It does hae the usual black crap over the exhaust blades and some discolouration in the compressor blades but no chips or anything. To people have have bought 2nd hand turbos before, were you confident in just whacking it on or did you get it checked out by GCG or cleaned/balanced before hand??? (or anything else i haven't thought of) Any help appreciated. Thanks. Birnie

Painting Calipers DIY : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=97215&st=0

there's a tutorial in the DIY section on replacing the rotors on a R32 but I added a picture of behind where you are talking about of a R33. You can search by mu name in the DIY, shouldn't be many results. Also, someone did a DIY ( i thik that section ) about painting the calipers. They did not remove them from memory. Just removed the wheel, covered everything with newspaper and tape and away they went. Pics were included so again do a search for that.

S15 Sr20det Injector Details Please .
Birnie replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've just bought a set and they are no where near the red shown above. More a shitty light brown Is that the 'Teracotta' colour? (definatley not the pruple ones, seen them before) I assumed they would be red but now with the 'terracotta' talk, are we saying there are 2 different coloured injectors for the same type? I'm hoping it's a yes as I'm a tad worried i wasted cash on these 4. Also, i have a set of 4 brand new ones coming over from Japan. (with a GTR R33 pump...yippee!) I'll flow test these brown ones and give my results Also, I'll give a quick photo of both colours side by side. Oh yeah, I'll also have 2 spare left over for anyone hunting down a set of 4 and need the extra 2 -
R33 Gtst Performance Parts
Birnie replied to robbo33's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Thanks Robbo (free bump) Change your description and i think you'll get more bites. It looks as if you've only got standard parts from the general listing page. Add 'GCG turbo' and watch the questions come in. Thanks again. Birnie
