  1. Tyre shops and Rattle guns... They never mix. I specify upfront; that if they use one to tighten the nuts, I will refuse to pay. I make them list it on their work order. I also make them list that there is no damage to the rims; particularly around the wheel nuts. I didn't pay $600 for 2pak paint; only to have some donkey destroy them. Sounds like you were pretty lucky then; could've been much worse.
  2. Anyone who does engine balancing.
  3. You can; I do, but they don't work as well as the dedicated forced orbit styles, because if you apply a decent amount of pressure, the pad doesn't orbit very well. It's miles easier than hand polishing, and delivers surprising results if you're prepared to take a bit of time. I'm sure one of the resident experts will have a better explanation; but that's it in a nutshell.
  4. We are watching you. Everywhere you go. MUAHAHAHA! I was going to do the random "Go the Stagea!" when I saw you; but I was dragging 25 odd kg more than I normally ride with, so it would have just been a squeak...
  5. Spotted one of them again in Winmalee, while I was taking my lad for a ride this arvo. Nice intercooler stashed in the bumper too.
  6. Hang on; you lost a wheel? Any damage? I'm assuming they're paying to repair?
  7. Two silver C34s on the same road,Old Bathurst rd in East Blaxland; within 500m of each other! Didn't get a chance to wave at either, but hi guys.
  8. At this point; they don't even appear on any of Whiteline's listings. Basically hot off the mould. Full details as soon as I can. Cheers, Dale.
  9. What a beautiful car; I'd be heartbroken to let something like this go... I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding it a home.
  10. Got a set of these yesterday; brand new part from Whiteline! http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/bulletins/Update%20BL-385.pdf I'll be fitting them shortly and putting up a bit of a review. Whiteline have a few new parts in the works for the V35/350Z/NM35. Cheers, Dale

  12. If the earth lead was loose the battery might be low. They do funny things with dying/flat batteries; even if the car will still start.
  13. Macca nats? Awesome!
  14. Bent sill; that's a write off for sure. What did he hit? And they wonder why P platers get such a bad wrap...
  15. Nice work mate! Now the waiting begins...
  16. Lol; it's a good thing for sure, especially for those rockin' baby seats in the back. Hell, even my old R31 wagon had reclinable rear seats. BTW; best new topic this week.
  17. +1. Split BOV Recirc hose?
  18. Hey guys, thanks for the support, but I'm not worried if people use 4bidn to buy parts; we're not competing, and I haven't got a bad word to say about him. We're all enthusiasts; and white anting each other benefits no-one. I'm sure he'll help you out if you decide to purchase through him, and you can always use Whiteline as a resource; their reputation is built on supporting enthusiasts. I think in the original instance Big Fella was referring to; I wasn't able to give the lowest price due to the fact that I was paying a higher price on individually ordered parts, as opposed to Group Buys. If you have a legitimate price; I'll happily tell you if I can do better. Postage does hurt the end cost, as it adds a minimum of $20 to any order; they're on the maximum Auspost length and around 14 kg. It's still stacks cheaper than any other option. I just want to help people get what I have; an awesome handling Stagea, and I've been playing with cars for a long while now, and made a few mistakes along the way, so I've got a fair idea what works, and what doesn't. You're welcome to go your own way. Cheers, Dale.
  19. It's quite an interesting system; on one of my local roads, a constant radius left, there's a dip, then a rise right after. When going 80km/h and above; the gauge flicks right to the top just as the car goes over the rise. No loss of traction, but it's obviously semi-predictive. In the wet, I'm sure you could slide the car sideways over the rise; as it unloads the suspension.
  20. If you need bars, just let me know...
  21. Isn't the 850 FWD? Ended up evolving into the T5.
  22. I fitted one of Leons kits to my car yesterday! I have what would be best described as rudimentary electrical skills; I can install a head unit, and do basic fault finding, but I'm no guru by any stretch. The install took me around 3 odd hours, and I will admit I wasn't in a hurry, and took a couple of breaks when my knees started whinging. I was pretty methodical about my connections, as I wanted the neatest possible job, and also to ensure I wouldn't need to go back and re-do anything. This is a seriously simple kit to install, Leon has done the hard yards to find the wiring connections, but I did move the earth point in the wheel, as there were a couple of M4 threads, so I just mounted the eyelet with a little stainless buttonhead, rather than under the horn spring. I had a few issues in the set up phase; but that was because I was misinterpreting some of the directions. A quick chat on the phone with Leon got me back on track; I was moving the stalk in the wrong direction. The set up was a piece of cake, and the Cruise works really nicely; on my Informeter, it makes 1% throttle adjustments to maintain speed; which is seriously fine adjustment. It reacts very quickly and smoothly to hills. I reckon there is definitely a potential fuel saving to be made with this. My car didn't explode, no small children were harmed, and no baby fur seals were clubbed. It's like anything in life; if you're not sure; don't do it. If you're prepared to follow instructions and learn something; give it a go. Cheers, Dale.
  23. Good to hear you've got the boat anchor going again Craig; what was the cause of all the drama (this time)? I fitted my Commsman cruise control this afternoon; took around 3 odd hours, I wasn't in a rush and wanted to do a neat job of my wire splicing (also tidied up a few existing add ons prior to my ownership). The kit goes together very nicely, with more than enough wiring length to make all your connections, and with a quick "walk through" on the setup with Leon this arvo; I had it up and running in no time. The OEM gain settings are spot on IMO; you can easily notice you've engaged it, without being obtrusive, and it reacts brilliantly when presented with an incline or decline. I ran out of time today to program the steering wheel controls; but it's literally 5 minutes work to sort that out tomorrow. I'm going to add a couple of pics to the install guide on the "Awesome" forum over the weekend; as I moved the position of the Earth lead in the Steering wheel , and I found an easily accessed ignition switched 12v power source. This will hopefully speed up any further DIY installs. Thanks again Leon, if an electrical buffoon like me can sort this install; anyone should be able to manage it. If you don't have one of these; get one now.
  24. Well done Paul, thanks for your effort! The square white piece of card is a template for marking out the wider slot; you just colour with a marker pen and use a die grinder with a rotary burr or dremel to widen the slot. Bash the file in your arse... Powertools FTW!
  25. 2mm Ball End milling cutter. Don't go all the way to the edge, and don't go below the wear limit.
