Slightly embarrassing update to my post about the Heavy Duty Whiteline links... Turns out the orange covers are not a dust cover at all; they're just for protection of the joint & threads in transit... Red faced all round for me, but they were just so neat... Obviously without these in place, the hex on the threads is easily accessible so the nylocs included can be used. Details next week about a group buy on these links. Cheers, Dale.

That sort of legislation can't be made retrospective. Cars must comply with the regulations of their year of manufacture. This is why an HQ holden doesn't have to comply with 2011 emissions and crash ADR's (they'd never make it). It will effect vehicles imported after this is enacted though.

Spotted rosella picking up a set of awesome adjustable sway bars! Lol, thanks mate, enjoy!

This Is The New Recipe Chat Thread...

He's creeped them all out, time for a new state... -
No worries, this forum has saved me plenty of money . Unsure of your budget, but maybe have a look at BC coilovers. Excellent value for money.

You are better off looking for a Stagea kit. There is so much more glass & steel behind the rear wheels on the wagon, even if they do fit (all depends on model) the spring and damper rates at the rear will be for a car that weighs 300kg (approx) less. Ebay sellers will often tell you what you want to hear, to make a sale. Buyer beware!

I was going to say the same thing... Sitting like a shot duck at the end of the on ramp. Watching the other sheep pull up & park behind them is funny too.

So what does it get used for? Just curious.

Now that one I'm not sure about. Because Lennox bridge is Heritage listed, you would think some part of the responsibility would fall to State/Federal govt, but odds on, the maintenance of a key piece of convict heritage is probably thrust upon the council. There is a need to do extensive stabilisation work along that area of the cliff face, I won't even ride a bike up there anymore. The work is extremely costly, I think the issue at present is that old chestnut "Who will pay?" There's also a proposal to close the section of road down from the bridge, permanently to motor traffic and make it a bicycle only area. Personally, I think it's a great idea, as it would remove bike riders from OBR and also from the GWH, as it is a much less circuitous and much safer route. It would also slow the damage that is occurring to Lennox bridge. Obviously it would be gated in such a way to ensure it can be used by emergency services or as an emergency evacuation route. I often ride the powerline trail between Wedmore road and Yellowmundee, and also down off Spurwood road (used to be called Long Angle?) in Mt Riv. It would be around 7-8 km from Mt riv to Yellowmundee, versus 23-25km on the existing road. To build a proper road from Mt Riv to Cranebrook would be an enormous undertaking, a huge amount of material would have to displaced to even out the elevation change along the way. I couldn't see that getting off the ground at all with the short sighted State Governments and Green Group influences we have at play nowadays.

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

That stuff should really be run through the cabin, not under the floor. Just run it down the opposite side of the car to your RCA's. Insulation is too soft (makes it flexible), flick a rock up, get a nick in it, fills with water, nice OFC cable goes black and crappy, high resistance here we come! I also avoid running any kind of wiring near fuel lines if possible. -
She has quite a way at times, not shy at all. Don't know how she got away with it to be honest. Made me laugh tho' Yet another one to keep my eye out for... This came up during the last time Old Bathurst was resurfaced, was in all the local papers. Have you noticed how it goes from 50km/h to 60km/h just after the houso's on the left? (Binya Street) And then back to 50km/h just past the water towers? That's because it's considered an arterial road= state funded. Also the top is in Blue Mountains City Council territory, and the bottom is in Penrith City Council area. However there is CONSTANT disagreement about who is supposed to maintain it, so as a result the coucil avoids it like the plague...

Fitted my set of Sway Bars this morning, bars fit perfectly Only had to remove the centre undertray at the front to access the mounting points. Link to sway bar nuts can be quite tight, so you may need a Strongarm or knuckle bar to crack these nuts. One of the front D bush brackets was a little tight to get the bolt into, but a little tap with a hammer had it sorted. Also, the anti rotation tab on the front link needs to be aligned with one of the unused adjustment holes when tightening, as they will no longer sit on the outside of the bar. Kit comes with plenty of white grease for the D bushes, so don't be stingy or they'll start squeaking ok? On the rear, you will probably need to drop the 3 rear hangers of the exhaust to slide the bar into place, especially if you have a 3" system, but you shouldn't need to break the exhaust at the rear muffler flange. All up took less than an hour to fit, using a set of car ramps. The difference is huge! I've started with both bars on their middle setting, the rear feels spot on, but the front feels a little laggy, so I'll be going to the maximum on the front in the next few days. Frankly, I think you'll all be amazed at the quality of these kits, and the improvement, but, if any of you have any issues at all, please get in touch with me ASAP, and I'll do all I can to assist. Enjoy! Dale.

Hell yeah! I'm just on the middle setting of both bars and the difference is incredible! The back feels spot on, I might go to the hardest setting on the front and see what that's like. I think I'm also going to soften my dampers a little to accomodate the extra roll stiffness. -
Seems like it'd normally be a quiet spot there too, maybe introduce him to your pup next time? There's always one eh?

Mine doesn't dim either, so I just reduced the backlight to around 30%. Still fine in the day, and much better at night.

Spotted PN-MAD's beast in the garage whilst dropping off sway bars. Beautiful colour, can't wait to see it evolve. Also spotted white C34 in Hazelbrook, this morning whilst I was test driving my newly fitted sway bars.

I've had my fun, just going to bide my time on this one. He has my details, so I'm gonna wait until he gets the bill, let's see what happens then...

He started it. Be f##ked if I'm not gonna finish it.

Dear ST 416, You are a bonehead. In future, if you find yourself in the wrong lane heading through a toll, look right BEFORE you swerve across a painted median and into my lane and force me to nearly drive into a concrete barrier to allow for your pathetic excuse for driving. Once you've damaged the mirror on my car, don't assume you will be able to do a runner in your piece of shit, slow arse XR6. It's not fast and you are a hopeless dingbat with the driving ability of a discarded foreskin. Then, once I've forced you to pull over to exchange details, don't start abusing me because you are clearly too stupid to pilot a motor vehicle on a straight piece of pavement, even though it has lines painted on it as a reference point for brain donors such as yourself. And if your fat, loungechair arsed, hippo of of a wife, decides to open her cakehole to weigh into the argument, tell her to go and eat another small country. (Preferrably not Australia; bits of it are quite nice) No one likes seeing fatties trying to argue when all they can think about is the fact that they're going to be late getting to Mc Donalds for their next greasefest. When asked to give your license details, don't snatch it away and think I can't remember what was written on it. I can read quite well, and as it turns out; have an exceedingly good memory. Lastly, don't for a minute think that any of the above behaviour will stop me from reporting you to my insurance company, and ensuring that you have the most unpleasant surprise when you discover how expensive replacing mirrors on imported cars can be. Keep an eye out for some mail at your house in Apollo Drive, Charlestown; you arrogant skidmark on the toilet bowl of life. A grown man screeching like a little girl doesn't frighten me, it just make me more determined to annoy you. For next time, just remember; if you'd been even a little apologetic, I would've got my panel guy to do the job as a favour, and it would've cost you nothing. So, to summarise; Bonehead, can't drive, can't do a runner, can't hide, pay large bill, go f##k yourself. I win. That is all. Who said we wont make 1000 pages with dumbarses like this on the road?

Fitted my Group Buy Swaybars Best Mod Ever. My son of rajab, it's fun to drive now! Fellas, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Bars are perfect, one clamp was a little tight, but a tap with a hammer sorted it out. All up, less than an hours work, what a difference. -
Yeah, I'm a bit puzzled by that one as well. Why run? Things are not always what they seem... Not really on topic, but on this topic; I was on my motorbike a few years back; saw the flashing lights, pulled over with the shits, thought "Here we go, I wasn't even doing anything wrong " One of the officers jumps out, runs up to me; Turns out, the strap of my Ventura bag was hanging down near the wheel, he saw it and didn't want me to have a spill! So he tucks it in, slaps me on the shoulder, gives me thumbs up, runs back to the car. No fine , no rasping What would've happened if I'd run?

Same guy! He's a charmer to talk to, as my missus found out... I had an experience with him you might find funny tho' Was out with my 2 1/2 year old boy for a walk on Wednesday (loves cars & anything with a flashing light on the roof), There he was, parked illegally in Everton Road, sneering at us through the window of his unmarked VE as we were walking towards him (blocking his view of the traffic, kinda, sorta on purpose) When my boy spotted the light rig on the dashboard. "Siren truck?" he asks, Mr Sneery perks up a bit; Me; "No mate, that's not a real police car, real ones have the lights on the OUTSIDE" Little bloke; "Yeah, NOT siren truck" Face drops, sneer firmly back in place. Owned by a toddler, lol! Hopefully he doesn't realise I live just around the corner , but he started it...

Exactly, and that's why they do it But it also means you might have a chance of getting off if they've taken the piss badly enough... You're Mountains too, right?
