  1. You'll get stung for it like that, no doubt. To inspectors/police/etc, merging the wastegate pipe after the cat is the same as having a screamer pipe, albeit without the noise. It breaks the rule of having EVERYTHING that enters the engine pass through the cat converter, and they're even picky about that over here in the nanny state
  2. Voltage isn't the problem, you can get 14v down any wire you like. The problem is current. You need a wire that is capable of carrying the correct number of amps (the exact number escapes me now, been too long since I did it) to the pump. Otherwise that wire becomes your fuse.
  3. Head off. Or risk swarf in the cylinder. Better to take the head off.
  4. Mum said it's way too far for me to drive unless your parents are gonna be there? Maaaaan, mum's blow And in your case... She should have swallowed.
  5. Definitely do it mate, read the latest posts in the Hypergear thread to find out why...
  6. Depends on how much it flows, if it is a restriction then it will change the load points. But if it's a well flowing cat then it shouldn't change the tune much at all. I did a back to back test on my car with the exhaust on/off from the front pipe back, made hardly any difference. Safest to get it checked first, but you shouldn't have to baby it TOO much.
  7. Decats are worse
  8. It's most likely nothing to worry about mate, most petrols have sulfur in the additives. Some are better/worse smelling than others. Are you filling up from the same petrol station every time, or have you recently filled up at a station you don't normally fill up at?
  9. Hey Dori, Put me down for the R34 passenger headlight intake and R34 cooling panel mate. Also, any pics/price on the Top Secret style diffuser?
  10. What petrol are you filling up with?
  11. Yes it is one piece, you have to cut the section out in the GT to fit the GTT gauge holder. But underneath the padding, it's all exactly the same, so the bolt holes etc. are all there. Very easy to do if you've got a steady hand and a scalpel. Your carbon/kevlar parts sound the goods, have you got a website or is it just something you do as a hobby? I tried working with carbon fibre once, ended up ruining my gauge holder lol. On the look out for a 100% carbon replacement for it, so if you are successful and plan on selling them, let me know!
  12. I stand corrected... $550 - $5000.
  13. How do you mean it wasn't cut out?? This is how my dash looked previously (ignore the somewhat ricer interior, I was young and stoopid) and all other GT's I have seen: Underneath that section where I have those gauges mounted is exactly the same as the GTT. My interior now looks exactly like a GTT's, one couldn't tell the difference.
  14. Well Matt has always been a nicer guy than me! Price for converting to E85 is pretty subjective mate, there's so many ways to do it. I've seen quotes from as low as $1500 all the way to $5000+. The way I believe to be the best and the way I would do it is also the way Matt has done it. Not cheap though.
  15. Just bumping my post count, don't mind me. Oh, and cool thread mang.
  16. Haha thanks mate. Should still work with the hole further down, I forgot to mention I had to trim one of my silicon joiners. If it's further down you should be able to get away with it using longer joiners and perhaps cutting a longer piece of pipe off your cooler piping if that's what you are using. Just don't forget to have a bead welded onto the pipe so the clamps have something to hold onto.
  17. 18. Because we are cheap bastards Birds Do wish I had gone with the 044 back when I did my fuel pump, didn't think it would be necessary at the time though. Nor did I realize how good a noisy fuel pump sounds!? Interesting that it failed on the dyno though, was the fuel pressure not being monitored or is it just one of those things?? Makes me want to check my fuel pump, though I have rewired mine and has been sweet so far.
  19. What car and fuel? On 98 it should be fine, on E85 those injectors might be a bit on the small side. You might also run into problems with your fuel lines, I've seen a few cars hit a wall in power at ~320rwkw with the standard fuel lines a restriction. Others have gone over 400. The pump will be pretty close to it's limit, but should still be ok.
  20. It was most likely left off intentionally, most good quality wastegates will come with their own flange when you buy them.
  21. It's two/four clamps, not hard at all!? lol. Also, 250rwkw is very easily achievable, you don't need a manifold or anything. ECU, injectors, turbo. Assuming you've got the other bolt ons already, exhaust, FMIC, etc.
  22. I know it's not the same style plenum, but should still be similar enough/relevant. This is my setup with my Plazmaman plenum, I went back through the original hole: Was actually very easy to do, just bought two 90 degree silicon elbows and then cut my existing cooler piping where I needed to make it fit. Used a small offcut from that piping to complete the bend: Should be able to do something similar with the Greddy plenum.
  23. +1 for Penny, would look mint with the rest of the car.
