Skyline R33 Rb25Det - Dont Get Wet Sparks?
scotty nm35 replied to Emiiilz's topic in General Maintenance
^^ as above, are the lines the right way around? Did you wire the Walbro pump to the battery, bypassing the fuel controller? -
Yeh, the carbon canister needed to be moved, and the right muffler 'massaged'.

I think it might Rudi, but the hose for the GTR is bigger, so you may have to find some way to expand the hose, or make an adapter.

Coilover, Slide Vs. Bc
scotty nm35 replied to AndrewEagle's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
They look alright, shame they can't be bothered making them for M35 Stagea's, only the C34's. It's their loss. -
The other option is to ditch the mocal for a 12an 30 row, mine didn't cost much. You could use the smaller Mocal core for the power steering cooler, or it may make a nice trans cooler for someone.

lol. I agree, after feeling the power in your liquid gas setup mate, I am impressed. Just needs bigger injectors.

You only need a very light coating on the gasket, Hylomar still relies on a flat surface. If the flange is that warped that the gasket squishes out one side you will continue to have issues I think. You could possibly try gluing a few sheets of sand paper to a thick pane of glass and using that to flatten it out, may take a while but I have seen it work on heads before. (bush mechanic style)

So you need something like this... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AN-10-10AN-Male-1-2-BSP-BSPP-Female-Adapter-Mocal-Setrab-Oil-Cooler-/380572024115?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item589bdc3d33 But with a 5/8 bsp thread tapped into it? They may not exist, you may have to modify one and run a tap through it. I could probably help you if you can't find something local. Or you could run the adapters if you have the room...

Egt Sensor Location On Twin Turbo Rb26?
scotty nm35 replied to Behind Horizon's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I read about 100 degrees C less in the dump, as long as you take that into account you should be fine I guess. -
Pump E85 - Current Ethanol Content
scotty nm35 replied to tk80's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The GM sensor is available for under $100 delivered now, and with a Zietronics box should work on nearly any ecu, as long as you have a spare 0-5v input... Must speak to you about that soon Trent, I have an Emanage Ultimate to flex tune. Flex tuning will definitely be getting more common in the future. I need to fit a sensor to my Fcon but I am scared of the wiring nightmare in the dash. -
Type 'Rota failure' into Google for me, this is why I generally prefer OEM or forged rims. They will probably be fine though, and the size is about right. I ran 9 inch + 30 17's without issue, yours would stick out a little at the front as they are 10mm further out. To get the wheel to clear you may have to roll the guards, which involves using a machine bolted to the hub to roll the lip in and push the guard out a little, especially at the top. You need to heat the paint at the same time or it can crack easily. It's not something many people are willing to do themselves, best off getting some quotes from a professional.

As Alex mentioned, leaning out the mixture drops the energy available to combust and usually means you need to put your foot down more, just to get the torque required to cruise. I must admit I haven't played around with petrol mixtures a lot, as leaning out 98 is a bad idea generally, but running a huge range of ethanol tunes from 10:1 through to over 20:1 on cruise I now realise near stoich is where it's at. Leaning it out to 15's is going to barely make a difference to the wallet unfortunately. Foot control of the pedal has more chance of fuel savings. Seriously, they are never going to be lean running cars, they are simply too heavy to compete with modern buzz boxes with their skinny tyres and sub 1 ton weight. Thinking a quick retune will gain noticeable savings... Perhaps if you plan to do massive k's to cover the tune costs. Limiting the throttle to 20% would be a better idea.

Pump E85 - Current Ethanol Content

How is Piggaz measuring the content? Does he have one of those dodgy test tubes or a Zeitronics box? I haven't blown my engine yet... -
Egt Sensor Location On Twin Turbo Rb26?
scotty nm35 replied to Behind Horizon's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
On an RB26 I would stick it into the top of each manifold, it was good enough for Gibson... -

Oh no, my ethanol content changed one point and I didn't even notice... Do you really think it matters? -
What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
scotty nm35 replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You mean the manifold to turbo flange? The Gasket between them is a T3 but the flange is a split pulse euro T3. -
I received a Chinese AFM today, it looks exactly the same as the old Nissan one I have here, and works fine so far in another Stagea. I will be installing one in my car to check the air temp accuracy which should give us an indication of it's quality. Hopefully order a batch soon.

True, at least it reads in psi then... -
Hks F-Con V Pro Np5-15 Harness?
scotty nm35 replied to Reprieve's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
The stock turbo maxes out at around 200kw, and you need to lean on it pretty hard to get that. I hope you have factored in the highflow sooner rather than later, once the ceramic turbine lets go... There is always the Emanage Ultimate, I ran mine to over 300kw before switching to HKS. Don't let anyone tell you they aren't a good option, they are very capable with a good tuner on the case. -
Engines have become a lot more efficient, these things run wideband o2 correction... But it's still 3.5L in a 2 ton car... Liquid gas conversion would be the go like Matt said. SV6 isn't going to be any better on fuel, nor is the NM35. Even the missus A4 1.8t only gets around 9L/hundred on the hwy.

Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 !
scotty nm35 replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
And who cares, it's not like you need the extra octane. The 91 'rubbish' will burn faster and with more energy to help the ethanol light up nicely. -
Hks F-Con V Pro Np5-15 Harness?
scotty nm35 replied to Reprieve's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Quite possibly... For the right price. Do you need the complete harness, or just the ecu plug? What are your power goals with the car? The Fcon is an expensive tuning option, do you have the unit yet?
