  1. LSX90 is the oil to use. You can add a friction modifier if you want to reduce how "harsh" the bite of the diff is and/or the clunking. And no, don't use different oils. It's all controlled by the clutch plates and gears in the diff. As stated - get it pulled apart and see what is wrong first.
  2. It's 15 years old, its just shagged. Rebuild the stock center or put a stronger Nismo one in. Nismo ones you can also adjust how tight they lock.
  3. Turbo & dumps are sold pending pickup later in the week. Motor here now - $3100 ONO Comes with all the oil/water lines for turbos and full intake/exhaust side still. Literally just minus the turbochargers.
  4. VSPEC or not? If non-vspec, just get it rebuilt or put a Nismo 1.5 GT pro into it. Best mod i reckon i did to the GTR, makes it MUCH more tail happy, could 4 wheel power slide it much easier which on tighter motorkhana stuff meant i was noticeably faster. If v-spec, and therefore A-LSD... read this... (its an expensive trip): http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/399722-change-diff-from-a-lsd-to-mechanical/
  5. One thread is enough Don't spam the forum.
  6. Defense use it as a measure yes, but it's not a deciding factor - there is much more they take into account and if you are over on BMI it's not critically important. I know as my best mate is around 105kg and 5'8", but he is as wide as a house
  7. How can they be the same if the other is stronger? Agreed on the comp ration. 8.2 is quite low nowadays considering the quality of fuels available compared to 10 years ago. Then add in 272 cams and depending on what port work, it'll be pretty unimpressive anywhere that isn't smack on the boost happy area. Can use a RB25 crank though, and 26 rods. Not a major issue, just need pistons to suit then.
  8. $1.60? There do you fill up I paid i think $1.45 the other day, might have been less. ULP on the usual good days has been ~$1.25 so it wasn't too much more.
  9. f**k sake. enough with the workshop bashing. can you not control yourselves for a few days?
  10. well said. They are such a waste of money as they don't save you from any defects at all, and just means you spend double fixing it twice.
  11. I still reckon that's one of the better decal arrangements I've seen on a car lately! Very cool shoot overall... Pity no beatdown of the plane and lol @ the trailer number plate.
  12. It's certainly looking that way with at least 4 engines down in the past 4 weeks across carying classes. Probably more than that given limited info
  13. Looks like VQ rather than RB twins being IHI... Pretty much sums up the typically wild claims of most of these ventures. Care to elaborate what the actual point of the thread is? Are you asking if they are decent or trying to promote a business?
  14. As car is sold I'm cleaning out the bits and pieces I have left over. All items are rare and generally hard to come by, all in great condition. R33 GTR Top Secret Carbon rear diffuser Condition: Used. Still in very good condition overall given it sits under the rear of a car that you'd drive. No actual cracks, it's all surface/coating marks/cracks. Price: $450 R33 GTR Series 3 Door Trims Condition: Immaculate. Not a mark on them, you will not find a better set. Price: $500 R33 GTR Full Carbon Insert Dash by Superior Auto – incl. drivers door panel insert & h.break/g.box boots in carbon style fabric Condition: Used. Overall condition is excellent. Some tiny surface marks here/there nothing you really notice unless you have you face 5cm from it. Price: $900 I also have a Nismo GTR dash cluster. Not sure of it's condition yet. Once I do i'll post a price, pretty sure it only has around 70k kms on it. I’ll have pics in coming days, most of you should know what these look like. Prices are negotiable if you want to buy more than one item. Contact via PM.
  15. If the wheel is damaged, then you are kinda in the shit as that's the part you need. You can just use any old Garrett core to rebuild with, the good bits are the wheels.
  16. You are sick of going through pumps. But don't want to get the tank cleaned. I'm confused, the pump wouldn't block up if the tank/lines were cleaned correctly...
  17. So that's the 2nd motor now?
  18. Mate look i realise you are new to the forum - but please use the search function before mass thread creation. This topic particularly has been done to death.
  19. No, and it would be a waste of money to do so.
  20. Jebus that is one intricate design. Bet it was fun connecting the hoses and the job of rechecking twice to be sure Very awesome
  21. Honestly given pistons are less than $1400, and all you need is a decent set of rod bolts... You are mad if you don't spend that little bit extra. You'd likely never need to strip it down later to build it further. Just take the head off if/when and tidy it up later on and you are good to go!
  22. 2b. It's probably useless as it won't be a proper oil/air separator And yeah, no Japanese? what's with that!
  23. Taking it you've never watched Today Tonight or ACA? Or seen the political votes that action against "hooning" is pulling in all over the country? They are the reasons why... Police are just doing what a dog would do to a postie bike. They chase it down, they don't really know why. It stems from the senile top brass in the force and politics. They've no idea whats going on, so just bring in a whole pound of pointless laws because it's seen to be "doing" something. End of the day, get used to it.
  24. And add to the fact they still don't make you legal. Police officer (in Vic at least) - spots a import with a nice big cannon and doesn't hear anything coming out of it...? Cop thinks "da fuq" and pulls you over anyway to find out why. They aren't stupid... Or you actually come through a random EPA road-side test station, that's when you get the lube out
