-
Jesus... 109 FTW!

Age and heat, combination of the two. 15-20 years, similar to AFM's, and not as common in terms of death. If you are destroying them for another reason then that really isn't classed as "normal".
-
huh? i don't get it... its the only way to get into the place... same directions as last year that worked fine?
-
they were daikin, not excedy. there was a difference, hence theprice

Best Gate Size For My Application?
R31Nismoid replied to snozzle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nah this was going back 5 years. Was a old progate from memory. I think i have a picture of it somewhere, will check later. Turbosmart stopped making 45mm gates and went to 48mm/teflon coated for a while and now have 45mm's back again, although this was a few year ago. -
Best Gate Size For My Application?
R31Nismoid replied to snozzle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Talk to Kyle and ask him. People have had boost creep issue's on those manifolds with less than 50mm gates (from reading a few threads over the years). Not sure of the exact reason behind it. I believe a 50mm is recommended at a min to stop this. It does go against the theory, which would suggests a 45mm gate would be perfectly fine. For my GT30 (600hp) I used a Turbosmart 45mm gate and it was perfectly fine @ 24psi. And for some theory reading, have a look here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ex...zes-t43638.html -
ill be on tomorrow day, and after 11pm no time tonight

aren't they both the same .7 A/R? i was under the impression they were..

We are in a transition period - I'll make an announcement about that shortly so there might be minor delays
-
Aftermarket BOV's will only make it worse.
-
Well a part cracking etc is not body fault. Easy to blame, but look @ the bigger picture.
-
What... BOV setup? Intake piping setup? They shouldn't surge, the -5's/GT-RS flow more and are known for it in certain conditions
-
You can run 11's on the factory turbos. If you do not have a spare 20k, then FORGET buying GT-RS. They are a 450rwkw+ turbo combination, which requires a myriad of parts to back them up.

Parting Out Whole R32 Gtr Black!
R31Nismoid replied to mikey1717's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Read the forum rules and try posting again when you comply. -
If you are only revving to 7500rpm, the T04Z really isn't the best turbo choice mate. It'll be making power to 8k without a problem... Given it's a 440rwkw odd turbo. A GT35 would be better and would move the power band to the lower RPM in much better fashion. Also it wouldn't require as many rev's or risk the pump given the small drive. That said and you are determined to keep that turbo for whatever reason... Was there any head work done as part of the rebuild?

Best Bang For Buck: Oil Pump For Early Rb26 ?
R31Nismoid replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm saying changing the oil pump is not going to magically save your stock motor @ those power levels and you will still potentially have a failure due to the smaller drive. Especially trying to pump 400rwkw through it. If it was 300rwkw, no problem. Most R32 GTR motor owners know they are on borrowed time even @ that power level (for one or another reason). I wouldn't buy a $$$ pump now, just run the motor till it dies and then follow your rebuild plan. -
^ ye i'd be checking that. I run a 044 off my surge and don't have any issues like that!
-
You do it again... 1st graph, ends @ 6700rpm 2nd graph, ends @ 7000rpm Both virtually fall over in the exact same place, a minor variance across two dyno's is all they show. I don't believe the stock cams/gears are causing issues. Guilt Toy - factory RB25 cams/heads, no cam gears etc. Admittedly it was a GT35, but if they such problems with smaller turbos, he'd have a bigger issue with a turbo that flows another 150hp more now wouldn't he? RB26 cams are only marginally different in spec and run 400rwkw (as another example). Anyway I'm out - you blame everything that has been proven not to be a issue Oh Scott - we are talking about 2k price tagged turbo's now (bottom of pg51 this carries from), and will they have the same "issues" as the current cheaper ones. For 2k I'd want to have such questions investigated/answered.

Well 3/4 that i didnt understand.. But is the car actually build plated as a GTS-T? 4 stud or 5 stud? Sounds like this "reliable" selling isnt quite as reliable as you would think - I wouldn't be going near that if you wanted 280rwkw TBH.
