On E85 you should make 440-450rwkw with just -5's given they do 400 on PULP (motor depending) GT-RS's should be near on 500rwkw/E85

And an entire 4WD assembly in there... The thread you linked - he got lucky. It happens. I guess you could try ring 100 different VASS engineers until you find one silly enough to say yes - that is your only option in terms of "where too". Or paint over it and pray. But im guessing it's listed on a defect notice so you might not be so lucky as to get off that way. It's always been that way, and engineers were always going to come down on it harder and harder as Police are defecting people more and more. It's just how the cycle goes. You can get one engineered installed that fashion - just not with airbags as it's deemed to be cutting into the chassis in a non factory way. It's not about money making, VASS engineers have thier reasons for not signing off - You'd know that already, given you would have asked why they said no Datto's don't have airbags, so yes it is a relatively simple conversion. You can have a front mount, just within the confines of Victorian law.

lol the two easiest things in the game to counter/stop lol ye I'm finally in 3 or 4 leagues of Plati and one Diamond, hopefully get some more teams up into Dia soon
-
Sounds like you are in Vic? Yep - no engineer will sign off on that with a model that comes equipped with airbags. Liability thing more than anything else. Common knowledge really and you should have consulted an engineer before making modifications, not after. Nothing you can do about it - sell the car to someone interstate and buy another. GTS-t and GTR are not the same chassis wise anyway so not sure what your point about GTR's is exactly. And of course a SR20 into a datto is easier to get engineered, very simple conversion and within the confines dictated by VicRoads.

I also agree. In response trent, even bringing the ramp rate up and earlier/more power it'd just drop off sooner anyway so you still get a reasonable idea of what to expect. (^^ in reference to what im gonna go into below) It's interesting regardless of housing size all these turbos have the sameissue. (im assuming also different turbine wheels as well as housing?). Power drops sharp come @ 6500rpm again, leaves only around 2500-3000rpm power range (3500/4000-6500) Given boost holds but power drops its looking like the rear housing is just choking it up too hard. Really need to see these things hold 7000rpm if not a tad more IMO to give you a better spread. They make power like a 500-550 turbo (with the lag), but nose over like a 400-450hp turbo. Kinda odd...

European Based Company Wheels Varrstoen.eu
R31Nismoid replied to varrstoen's topic in General Automotive Discussion
You read the information in the Trader area. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bu...se-t294953.html Youe business also must be based in Australia. -
I bet you don't have a fully seam welded engined bay thats been filled & painted in most area's Gotta be veeeery careful

Tell your mate to sign up - read the forum rules.

Oh it still takes me just as long - i have issues with RB25 gearbox in a HR31 shell so it's gotta be dropped from the bottom... Still a cvnt load easier. But yes, definately easier to go from the bottom IMO. It can be done from the top as well though, just more time consuming and careful leaverage when the motor is on the crane to get it over the rad support etc.

Interestingly a friend of a friend works for Tim Pallas I've been working that angle lately and I unleashed quite a volley a few weeks ago whilst giving her a lift home. I will continue to persue this avenue although I doubt that I'll get very far ... but you never know. A "forum" for Enthusiasts to speak and ask questions is what im gunning for

God bless my HR31 engine bay, no ABS etc room amore

Turbosmart Dual Stage Questions
R31Nismoid replied to Samuel Leonard's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No it's not 1psi - they "vary" at best. I believe its a full turn for a PSI if memory is correct. But they are a shocking boost controller (a turbotech valve for $30 is better as an example). Fuel economy is controlled by the right foot mate, not how much boost you are running. I can get 550km/s to a tank with 270-280rwkw @ 17psi or so. RB25 and RB26, both returning about the same. So clearly showing right foot and driving style play far more of a factor. when you make it 5psi or whatever, you end up putting your foot to the floor to go anywhere meaning you end up sucking more juice or just leave it on "hi" all the time making this whole "dual stage" nonsense silly in your average street application. -
Whilst it makes 300rwkw, the power band is not that of say a GT30 which has a good 1000rpm extra to play with. Horses for courses i guess and many factors one must consider when purchasing a turbo. Yeah a turbo might make "X" power, but the real point is just how it makes that power. Is it responsive, how much RPM do you have to work with etc.
-
Yeah funnily enough the whole euro chip'n'tune thing has been a hot discussion between many close mates of mine the past week on email given a few of them have euro's (TT-RS etc). Given you are paying $1500 for a GENERIC based flash tune... It's mighty expensive. Its relative though as the ECU tuning software etc costs 5 figures. It's not like a PowerFC that you can purchase for $1000 and use the hand controller or datalogit nice and cheap So i can understand where the costs comes from - but fact is once you "make" a generic tune for "x" parts then you make your money back much faster/better as Euro people have no choice being select market etc. At least Jap imports stuff is reasonably priced (depending on how many times to have rebuild RB26s)
-
What upgrade turbos without ECU? 1bar is about the limit, same power as everyone else - 250rwkw give/take. Cheap and nasty upgrade either way. Guess thats gonna happen more and more as GTR's come down in price.
-
12-12.3 is what a friend of mine tunes E85 at, and by no means is that 'on edge' either. Apparently much either side of that and it doesnt go so well anyway. 11.5 is certainly on the side of really safe - its probably even perhaps possibly why power is down, a built motor shouldnt be sitting there IMO.
-
So like i said - EVO's already have the bood brakes, turbo & ECU capable of all of that power. The only things that get altered really are suspension, clutch, exhaust and cooler piping. Along with wheels and tyres. Now if you can find 20k in just those parts then I'd be questiong the supplier of said parts and asking why they are charging you almost double
-
Ye i was gonna say also 740's shouldn't be maxed out @ those power figures regardless of a safe tune or not... AFR's for E85 is not the same as AFR tuning for PULP. 11.5 is ridiculously conservative.
-
E85 generally should see 30-40rwkw gain on most street style setups. That's the gain I've seen across what, 30 or 40 cars now and seems about "norm". Either way though you need more boost in there, a 3076 isn't doing much @ 16psi on a 2.5ltr. 20-22psi is when the show will start.

Keep R34 Or Transfer Engine To My R32 Gts-t
R31Nismoid replied to 335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
a R34 chassis will be better than a R32 one - its newer, tighter etc. issue is its N/A, so he brakes and all the rest are average. IMO you neither win nor gain from either option. -
This has been covered before... Plenty of times so not sure how the search didnt answer this but anyway... 1. Whatever, anything from the SAU traders will be fine $400-$600. 2. Yes, REO will need mods. 3. Of course it is, its Jap brand name gear. No surprise its expensive. 4. Next no none. Adding a I/C won't magically give you power really as the factory turbo is only good for a legit 190-200rwkw. 5. Again, SAU traders.

400kw Gtr Fuel/tune Issue
R31Nismoid replied to Travis Trayhern's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
1.0 with a HKS DLI (im assuming thats what you mean?) Perhaps 0.8 at the absolute most IMO given you can run 0.8 with the factory setup/380-400rwkw. The HKS "black box" is quite awesome -
300rwkw = 4" cat at least. I cannot see a 3" honeycomb cat flowing enough. I can feel a minor different with my 4" CATCO cat with a 3.5" exhaust/280rwkw. It's not major, but its noticeable none the less. I'd be going with a big 4.5" CAT personally having doing it again.
-
LOL an Evo with 20k sunk into it only made 220awkw? You can do that on the factory turbo & ECU. I doubt the figures quoted half the time Motor "tuner challenge" is a load of crap, always has been. Just have a look @ last years or the years before with the R35's. They picked the most sedately modified GTR in Australia compared to 350rwkw+ HSV's which obviously are highly modded. There were PLENTY of workshops with signifigantly more powerful/sorted cars.

Any images uploaded to SAU - are compressed when inserted into a post as Paul posted above. You must follow Pauls method however for it to work that way. If you hotlink them from say, photobucket or some other site, sometimes they will compress depending on the users resolution/screen size. It varies in that situation obviously.
