  1. Depends on the usual 100 variables. What track, what level of mods, whats the budget blah blah blah. Your question is about as vague as an arts student. More information = better responses. That said, buy a EVO 6 and forget about the GTR.
  2. On factory turbos you wont be making useful power @ 8000rpm anyway so stop with that. Especially 8500rpm, not a very wise idea at all mate.
  3. np I got a PM from you as well - I'll reply Sunday when i sit down and go through the 50 odd i have to read
  4. Dont need two threads mate - Seriously though come on... I've already had to lock 4 other threads because you wont use the search function. Bit more effort in your corner please.

  6. Oh come on why go and spoil it?
  7. He doesn't know what he's talking about - I do though By law, the officer does NOT have to show you the radar gun in Victoria. You may request to see it, however they do not have to honour this request. That said, it might have changed in recent times, although i doubt it.

  9. Ask whoever built it - they would be in the best position to make that call
  10. Just trying to get it 100% clear It's not legal far as i know given the mods that need to be done for compliance for the taillights so they all come on under the brake pedal/headlights
  11. He is on a corp connection. Not private/residential.
  12. Well over 8,000? I hope its not a factory motor. You have a few problems. 1. Bad plug choice, most likely they have fouled again. Go back to $4 copper ones. 2. Sounds like coils or other ignition related issues So two things to fix - forget plati plugs. Waste of time and money.
  13. You gonna pay for the rebuild in 18months if that isn't true? I mean logically his tuner is giving him reasonable advice. 280rwkw is a nice and safe limit for a stock bottom end. If it were my car i wouldnt be pushing any further either. Just because it makes that power fine now - doesnt mean after a year or two of of it'll still be the same story
  14. Do you think its worth 40rwkw @ 3200rpm though? Just as boost is ramping? I know the centre is where the bigger difference is, but thats not whats more notable about this setup (not saying is less important etc)
  15. haha ye would be a great chance for someone starting out/living @ home etc. I doubt apprentice wages would even cover my rent a month lol
  16. On the rear of the car or front?
  17. Will do it shortly. Someone forgot to tell me about you mate...
  18. Sell it for a profit then Call RE and discuss with them direct, im not sure what the arrangement is at the moment and im not about to give my mates details out etc cause of that. RE do tune as well. Give em a ring either way if you are interested in it. If not then don't haha
  19. The guy i mentioned does not work for RE. He only tunes on their dyno, one of my best mates Personally I'd go with the stock ECU, cheaper cause its free. The EVO factory ECU's are phenominal. You can even setup anti lag.
  20. Rebuilding the head... what are you on about? Take it to a decent performance workshop.
  21. Are they aftermarket or factory ECU tuning? The factory ECU is 100% tuneable in basically every area. Better than Nistune
  22. You can tell whats caused it. It's coming onto boost that much earlier though that it wont just be turbo - you don't get 40rwkw @ the same RPM (3200) as this is where boost is just ramping up if you look @ the old graphs and simple compare the torque/power curve. You don't need to see a boost plot to have a fair idea of whats going on. Peak power/boost, I'm not really worried about here, its the huge improvement in response that is awesome. It's all happening much much sooner that is more than just a turbo change that's for sure.
  23. You do know that HKS V-Cam is $5000 on its own, just for the variable timing. Thats not including the 8-10k for the rebuild and all the rest
  24. Call RE Customs and see if Matt Lowth (close mate of mine) is still tuning via them - If he is, he is the guy you want Otherwise RE also do tune as well i believe. Uses the factory ECU and so on so nice and affordable, no drivebility problems. His own car was making 280awkw before he sold it, one of the fastest street cars i have ever been in
