  1. Yeah just so that when it does make the slightest noise (and it literally is non-existent) - people dont come back and complain. As the plates get lower/wear they will get noisier, just how it goes.
  2. Yeah exhaust wheel isn't the only factor - comp wheel also Ye N1 block has extra ribbing - but people have split them @ the same levels as normal ones. So it's not really a set in stone "advantage" even @ 400rwkw.
  3. R33 N1 turbo's IIRC were still larger than R34 N1s as they make more power but are noticeably less responsive 1. As i said, it's identical. This means no problems. 2. Again as i said crank snount for the oil drive, turbos and honestly - fk all else. N1/NUR motors still have the inherent flaws that any decent rebuild should well and truly fix.
  4. Blind leading the blind
  5. 1. Yes. Identical 2. Not really. Just the better drive for the oil pump, about it. 3. No. They have shitty lag fest turbos. 34N1 are basically the same as Garrett -7s, best for response and around 300-320rwkw End of the day N1 factory blocks have not proven to be stronger than a normal 26 block. N1s just cost more yet still retaining the oiling issues with poor returns and no restrictors in the blocks. So in summary, they are a waste of money - better of rebuilding in todays day and age
  6. Skylines are far too front heavy for the rears to get the same level of heat/cracking going on. Most people will replace the fronts twice before even touching the rears once in most cases.
  7. Kando "master" thread: http://www.skylinesa...dynamics-turbo/ And plenty of others http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/339433-lets-talk-td06s/ http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/413835-trust-td06-20g-how-to-tell-8cm-or-10cm/ http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/405808-can-these-be-low-mounted-on-stock-rb25-neo-manifold/ Try reading some of those, more than enough info to get you started. Cheers.
  8. You'd hope not. $700 to lip guards, $1300 for injectors... Strong markup is strong.
  9. Have a quick search through the Vic section - searching with "workshops". You'll soon work out who the common ones that people use are, and those that generally are places you steer clear of. Or you could also read the Sticky Thread in this section that has Workshops listed that most SAU people use and trust... The workshops that don't make it in there, I wouldn't be using personally.
  10. No-one has ever said anything about response from a type of BOV vs another, that's just silly. Vented is worse because of the stalling - period.
  11. Just youtube "SAU-VIC DECA" - there will be heaps of footage of skidpan and also the back-track type stuff. Not your traditional stuff, little more speed involved but I managed to get a R33 around pretty well when i remembered which way to go 33-R brembo's are overpriced and a waste by the time you get new rotors, pads, rebuild (and paint) the calipers etc.
  12. No way overkill! I've competed in GT-Rs for the last 18months at our Vic SAU days (max speed is around 140, avg about 60-80) - and the GT-Rs go just as well as the 180s etc. Just gotta learn how to drive them and set them up really. Good diffs, suspension & brakes will make the world of difference. Of course power will also help and either way if i was you - change those turbos before they fail and potentially take the motor out. For a good khana setup if you put on say: Garrett -7s / PFC/ Tune Nismo Diffs & transfer case rebuild & a high volume sump 18s or 17s with good rubber Brakes (perhaps the GB? Link in sig) You'll have around 300rwkw, and it will be super responsive & nimble (well, as nimble as a GT-R can be) and handle like a RWD or AWD car as the diffs lock hard and are good for tight stuff to get the ass around and then straighten the wheels and bury the pedal and 4 wheels drag you out I had larger -5s but for that type stuff on a 2.6ltr they are too laggy.
  13. Yes suspended - Which IIRC, counts the same as un-rego'd because the registration is technically not valid as you are driving outside the conditions of it. After 1 month they DE-REGISTER the car fully at that point. Either way it's not a slap on the wrist that you are expecting - so carry some KY if you intend. Also bare in mind insurance won't cover you, nor will TAC should you end up in an accident
  14. Did you really just say that? Wow man... Throttle control is about using the throttle so that you do NOT wheelspin, whilst using maximum amount of throttle. Watch V8 Supercars on TV when they have the camera on the pedals. They don't mash it out of the corner - they progressively apply the throttle so that the car does not wheelspin, and is thus - faster.
  15. That's what makes the Nismo Coppermix so driveable. It's not filthy heavy like a OS twin plate for example which over time is like kicking a bag of sand over and over. The first 500-1,000kms it will be a little bitey, it will settle down though. So give it a little while before worrying about minor shudder.
  16. $500 or $550, cant remember the current un-rego fine amount, it might well have gone up too.
  17. You talking from a power/V8 point of view or a build quality/reliability/warranty one or something else? What do you want out of a car etc etc.
  18. But it's what the Japanese do, it's gotta be better because they make it in a kit form!
  19. MPH is spot on for the power. Good work!
  20. Only because of Import Duty, GST and so on. Take the 15% tax off the Jap/Euro Imports and all of a sudden they are far better value than a Commodore/Falcon realistically. It's the only reason there is still a local market for the time being.
  21. In what way? They vent air and it's driveability - nothing you can test on a dyno really.
  22. haha ye pretty much! Good, opening will be mid Feb sometime, we should be in there end of Jan to start setting up once fitout is complete etc. Will do a soft launch over a week for family/friends and then go the larger opening week etc. Cant wait to get in there really and start doing it We got approval for a Facebook page so will have a few offers for people and what not: https://www.facebook.com/SquiresNunawading
  23. Well talking about things doesn't really have means for getting into trouble, and what you do O/S is just that... So ye, not much trouble to get into really.
  24. City Grill Room 535 Little Lonsdale St Pork Ribs and Steak = win. Definitely make the time to go there if you are after Ribs/Steaks. Mates of mine were there last night incidentally haha.
