  1. Also the RB25 head is MUCH friendlier. I remember long ago someone did some testing and there was 25-30% more flow. Not sure under what conditions etc. So I guess as long as you kept a stroker RB24 and didn't ask too much flow you'd be ok, but there is a fair money in the head to get it working right which people don't think about sometimes.
  2. ^ and with good reason, making them response driven from the exhaust side maybe hurts too much in the top end? You could build the head more specifically for response, but expect once again the top end to hurt (and you wouldn't make that call if you put -5s on). Well on 98 & 2.6ltr, you have little choice as it's a tall ask even for -5s. You'll get to 370rwkw but you aren't going to have the response you want. -9s will give you 330rwkw pretty much as max and will get as close to your response aim. Many threads have sorta gone along this way and 10 pages later - it's simply a case of you need to make the choice. This post summed it perfect:
  3. Not always as you never just rebuild the one shocker(if that's the issue). You always do the two or the 4 so the car balance is even.
  4. If you wanna hold your own at track days you'll be spending more time and money in suspension, geometry, brakes, rubber, diffs, transfer case etc etc. Over worrying about the outright power. There is a solid 10k in those things, more if you get even more serious. Prime example here in Vic is everyone said you needed 380rwkw to get a GTR into the 'teens' at Sandown. Then one day it was done solidly with 330rwkw and full weight. It came down to the things mentioned earlier - and a driver with experience and knowledge of his car Put -9s on (so its still responsive around town), and spend time/money in getting the car sorted in the more important areas - especially seat time, as you'll chop times consistently for years In most cases especially as you develop the car. Enjoy milling over that for the next month lol
  5. Take it to PM lovers Thread has run it's course now well and truly. People should get the idea by now.
  6. Stock AFM/Stock injectors - either/or really. Limit will be as said, 290-300rwkw It's been covered many times the limits of both stock parts, hit the search if you want more info
  7. Paul - Had a chance to call past IM yet to see about 380mm? Everyone else - Updated as below. Added on - Race pad is $150 extra. Ok with that? Deposit - not required. No money until we get to 10 people, I'll PM everyone once we get to 8 so you can get pennies ready Added on - Race pad is $150 extra. Ok with that?
  8. 1000hp+ All comes down to the machining, balancing and assembly - Get it wrong, no crank will last.
  9. Bump. Dash/Cluster are long gone now. Series 3 GTR Door Trims - $375 Diffuser - $350
  10. I wouldn't go so far as to say horrid. You're not meant to swallow it lol, so you really can't taste it that badly. It sure as well works though, every 3hrs for 12hrs and 9 times outta 10 these days any throat tickle i have, totally knocked out and I'm fine the next day
  11. In North Melbourne - TruTrack They are hella busy though, so you'll need to book in advance. If it's knocking it could just be a worn strut top if they are aftermarket and old, pretty common and cheap fix (just buy new ones). Be prepared to pay though if it's something else... It'll get expensive pretty quick if it's rebuild and what not as you'll do both fronts at the same time etc. There is another place out in Bayswater that is doing some interesting things on a very affordable scale (ie, just replace the lot with new stuff) that a very good friend of mine has started using (it's custom gear, but very well priced). If you need more info lemme know.
  12. Like all other business/traders wishing to trade here on SAU - you are required to become a paying trader before you can do so. Please see below for the information about it: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/294953-are-you-a-business-want-to-advertise-on-sau-click-here/ Thread edited/closed. Admin.
  13. Don't have another lying around to rule it out? Surprised it even idles actually with a stock ECU. Pete's Q about the gasket was probably more along the line of is it 100% sealed. Often something overlooked and easy to get wrong when changing, has it been checked that it's totally sealed?
  14. That should be pretty easy to work out... Aside from that, what is controlling the car now while the 270 cams are in it?
  15. As in EC was turned into "Sydney MSport Park" after a revamp/cash injection from the NSW Gov't & ARDC... The track length was cut down and the prices were jammed through the roof. A top shafting for people that was.
  16. Stock ones leak ah idle/low throttle - on purpose - do you realise that is how they have been designed? Plenty of people here running stock ones at 300Kw/20psi that don't leak under load, its like all things, age and condition of components. You are one of the lucky ones with no issues, so good work there. Plenty of before/after posts around for people to read to show that there can be issues, most of it related to the tune as you need to compromise sometimes with the fuelling (non BOV) to stop the stalling. so its not essential. But doesn't hurt - that's where the decision gets made really by the OP Not one person has said anything remotely close to that in this thread, or on the pages of this forum for YEARS now really.
  17. Easily a low 10 you'll find. They are doing that now with less power
  18. No difference. Turbo will decide the power. You'd just run a bit more boost and build the head differently if going 2.5ltr or 3ltr
  19. Hi all. Next time a GB is started outside the GB area, it will just be locked by Admin/Mods without warning. We've told you guys enough now. We have the section there for a purpose, we need to use it. Nothing wrong at all with starting a thread in here to advise people to take a look or anything along those lines, just need them in the right area. Also we will let this thread run it's course given it's not far off - but in future, please just do the right thing from the start. Thanks. Admin
  20. Sold my cars 9 months ago to kick off a restaurant Couple of years I'll get back into it and probably look to building a dedicated car (trailer/no reg). Just ensuring I keep up to date with various events/classes/regs as they evolve, I've been keen to see what the Ronke's series would do when it was announced last year
  21. Yeah I had a good look over the Regs as well... They are quite interesting lol, but then it's first year, always going to need work
  22. Closed/Edited - Business Trader ad. If you wish to trade here on SAU, you are required to become a paying trader like all other businesses. Please see this thread for further details: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/294953-are-you-a-business-want-to-advertise-on-sau-click-here/ Thanks Admin.
  23. Agreed, I'm thinking that as well, pretty hefty front is there is nothing in the rear. And in terms of handling/balance - what are the issues you are currently having? It's too taily happy? Front understeer or doesn't respond too well? Also agree RE: Tyres. KU31's are terrible... I have them on the front of my Commodore lol, I wouldn't put them on a car that I actually wanted to handle properly. If you complimented the front with RS-Rs to match the rear you'd notice a major improvement there for sure. There is also the cheap Achillies semi on the market at the moment that is around $200 a tyre in a 265/18 - They are starting to get a reasonable reputation for the people on a tight budget.
