Beware - R34 Gtr For Sale In Sydney
R31Nismoid replied to R31Nismoid's topic in General Automotive Discussion
+1 Someone else i know called earlier for a laugh. The car isn't even in the country yet, and it would have stock wheels when it arrived is what he was told. So it sounds like the photo's are of an entirely different car to what will be coming in - because you can clearly see the screen shot of the site prior to editing was using identical pictures to the Auction. The photos are just to "make do" for now, as they've been caught red handed. -
Exactly. It's what a lot of people don't realise. My Ferrodo DS3000 would take a food 4-5kms of stop/start to become moderately useful - before that, if I needed to stop in a hurry, wasn't going to happen and it's worse than a your average streer car by comparison. To the OP - 15-20mins of hills run, it comes as no surprise you are having brake fade issues. Fluid aside, you simply do now have the heat dissipation capacity with stock sized rotors for that kinda work. If you do go again, expect to boil the fluid again would be my guess of how it will go down. They wouldn't last 3 laps on a circuit (5mins), so going for 15-20mins on a hill run will be very hard on brakes. You should've upgraded the rotor size/kit rather than buying new rotors/pads if thats the kinda driving you want to do.

As i said earlier - same pad size as the AP Racing caliper in the 356mm size, I think the code is AP5555 from memory. I ran the 356mm kit on the front only - without rears. It didn't affect the ABS at all as Skylines are far more front bias so rears are less important. As for how the kits compare - They are no $7,000 Alcon/AP kit (which they are based off)... But for $1800 - a saving of $5200 - you can't expect it to be identical, but i can tell you it's near enough having driven a mates GTR recently who has a 356mm Alcon kit. I couldn't say there was a difference. Pad/rotor material plays more of a part in that anyway. There were plenty of cars @ WTAC for example with D2 or K-sport brake kits on them, all working fine

Just a warning to the SAU Community from a private source. There is an R34 GT-R that's appeared online For Sale, with highly altered km's. Car has 145,000kms on it when looking at a Japanese listing: http://www.fcautosou...NE_GT-R%20VSPEC Car now suddenly has 29,000kms on it: http://www.allimport...d=4&car_id=2100 Different car you say? Well take a look at the old pictures that were up on the website for a while, but have been altered some time today. Guess it's lucky a screen dump was taken before things were changed to tell the true story Looks like the wheels/front bar have been altered (if the adjusted pics are even of the actual car). As the car has come from Auction - if you are enquiring - ask to see the Auction sheet, although it would likely be "unavailable" or some excuse about it not being purchased via Auctions etc. Buyer beware people.

Im coming home Monday as well, i think some are Sunday - but stuff driving 6hrs home after a big Car Show & a huge Sat night

+1 For 500hp, stock ones are proven time over. If saving money on Rods lets you spend elsewhere on a better turbo/manfold/porting etc - then that's by far a better way to be spending on the cost/gain scale
-
Yeah purchase Nitto ones - feel/look is of paramount importance when building a motor.

Read the links please guys... They have the info on how many pots, min wheel sizing etc V-Series you'll need to do your own leg work. Im not going to be held responsible. I know the skyline/Silvia part numbers but when it comes to v-series interchangeability I really don't know. That said: 330 needs at least 17", some wheels not compatible if internally they are not 17" 356 needs at least 18" Pads you can get from Import Monster, or they are the same as a AP Racing caliper, so you have a massive selection. When I needed pads I put in Ferrodo DS2500 to fit a AP5555 if I remember correctly.

Entry open till Friday for S'n'S / Dinner - seems a few people have not been paying attention about pre-entering

Check-in starts at 4pm So leaving @ 7am - 6.5hrs drive puts you in Goulburn around 2pm-ish. So check into accomm, relax for an hour and then come sign on. Sounds like a perfect time for me. If I don't leave Wed I'll be there 7am Thurs.

Yeah i wish they fixed more of the issues, its my one frustration with the game TBH. Otherwise it's sensational - but just tooooo many bugs

lol ye you will get idiots who do that type of thing in lower leagues/classes unfortunately. You need to learn to use overlords to scout in that instance. Get early Lair and upgrade overlord speed = easy scouting. Plus if he made cannons behind a gate/forge, you just make queens or roaches to push past it and then run in an dominate him. Or use my fav weapon... Nydus Tunnels - to get your troops into his base easily. Thats the thing with RTS - there is always a counter, you just have to know what it is and the only way is via experience and in-game scouting. The best counter to voids early is just to make queens cause they can heal each other easily and do good dmg/range. Not too many towers as they cost minerals/drones so queens offer much better value. Hence I have usually 2 queens at each hatch to heal and defend easily as you can also heal towers with queens Once economy up and running i also make a 2nd hatch @ my main base and then have 3 queens so you can have 10-20 larve ready at any given time if you are waiting for tech or need to change units fast.

There is no drive solution once you go above 3TB So you essentially need a 2nd NAS - this is why they are farken expensive! Or a web host somewhere that you store only the updated content etc.
-
No they are not, -5s and 2530 have never been. The only difference is the 2530 has a larger compressor wheel and a HKS stamped front housing.

lol Karina (Jack's mrs) will be over 8 months pregnant by then - The balls it took to ask for a leave pass for just that one night is something to behold If we could stay longer - I would this time f0 sh0! -
Just remember with RAID5 - you need a 3 bay NAS as a minimum. One drive bay is then made redundant - so you effectively "loose" it to act as a backup drive. So if you have say a 3 bay NAS and put 3x 3TB drives in - you only get 6TB. The 3rd drive (3TB) is then redundancy in case the other 2 drives in the array die. This is why those QNAP and similar NAS drives IMO are absurdly priced for what they are. I built my own server with a spare PC case & a old mobo/CPU. I simply purchased a Perc 5/i RAID CARD and I just use Windows Home Server. So with the Perc 5/i I have 8 slots so i can run 7 drives in RAID5 for up to 21TB when using 3TB drives - to get a 8 bay NAS you'd be looking at over $2000. So yeah my server isn't the "smallest" as its the same size as a mid-tower PC case, but room isn't a problem for me where shelling out 2k+ is Also the 5/i needs a fan on it constantly so it's a bit noisy but again, not a concern i have. A 6/i card i believe is better in that department but the cost twice as much. Still cheap if you need loads of storage however.

Sounds like you've caused your own problem by not running it in properly and stuffing around on first start up. -

I ran a D2 Racing kit on my very own R33 GTR that saw a number of track days and hill runs over 12 months. The kit never missed a beat and i highly recommend it for performance on a budget. Kits include: Calipers / Discs / Mounting Brackets to suit your model / ADR Approved Lines / D2 Racing "Street" Pad Standard Caliper Colour Options: Anodized Black Painted: Black / Purple / Yellow / Red (please specify) Additional non-standard colours can be done for $150 Brake Pad Options: D2 Racing - Street Pad or D2 Racing - Race Pace - Costs an extra $220 (RRP $250) (please specify) Price: Front 330mm - $1700 Front 356mm - $1800 Front 380mm - $2500 Rear 330mm - $1800 (includes factory handbrake compatibility kit, normally $250 extra) Above pricing includes ADR Approved Brake Lines (normally around $150 / $250 ($250 for front & rear). Do some research if you like, but i assure you the price is significantly cheaper than you'll find from any retailer in Australia OR Overseas and includes ADR approved lines to boot for even better value - don't wait to make a decision, it's well over 25% off after having a look around myself Especially you GTR owners, you can easily sell off your Brembo Rotor/Caliper/Pads for $1,200 - $1,400 - so the upgrade is next to nothing for a 356mm kit and a massive hike in braking performance Company Supplying goods: Import Monster - http://www.importmonster.com.au Shipping/Collection: If you are Victorian you can collect from Import Monster no problem, otherwise shipping will be at your expense. There are cheaper shipping options for some, but they are not fully insured. If a group of people purchase from one state, happy to deliver to a responsible person that you nominate which will drop costs even lower again Delivery is expected to take somewhere around 4-6 weeks once a "batch" is done (each set of 25).
