  1. spotted a very clean ADM GTR this morning on Victoria Rd GTR 091
  2. man that is a lot of car for that price.
  3. OK threads merged, I didn't realise it was the same car. I guess John has driven this car a bit before as well.
  4. bad news for me, good news for someone else. I have to be in Melbourne that night for work
  5. sad outcome. are you changing your forum name to Buy It Mik?
  6. I did this course last year and can highly recommend it. There was an excellent mix of theory to explain what you are doing, and practical tuning.
  7. yeah my 2nd hand trailer came with 5 car tyres, it wasn't until the 3rd one blew out (snapping some studs as it left for a cow paddock) that I moved to light truck tyres. never had an issue in 000s of klm after that. yep, slow learner
  8. lame dancer is lame. BTW they were 5th and 8th again this afternoon until about 3 laps to go (they didn't pit for tyres and lost a few spots to the cars that did). So the speed poorer today, but not by an order of magnitude
  9. yeah agreed....although they went to the trouble yesterday to point out they were still 1-2% down on top speed compared to the falcodores yesterday (a lot on a small track). But that doesn't mean there wasn't a gain in the midrange somewhere. ultimately supercars is a parity formula, so there will be adjustments to different cars at times. And the cars that get the adjustments will be happy, and the ones that don't will have a sook
  10. yeah I did enjoy the paying customers beating the Kellys too, just an added bonus. Rick was 14th, Todd 24th. I'm not sure the Nissans suddenly have more straight line power, if anything they are just getting back to even. More likely that Winton is too tight to let the hp difference matter. And yes Roy....they've all been sports sedans for 20 years now. That doesn't change the fact it is great to see Nissan putting money into motorsport, and getting something back for it today.
  11. all blacks game first
  12. For winning the v8 super taxi race at Winton today. I didn't expect them to come close to winning in their first year, but they led pretty much from start to finish today. Great job for such a new car.
  13. Is that the one they were advertising "with so many cameras you won't miss anything"? If so, they need to add "even a parked Stagea"
  14. Also, I saw and approved your build thread this morning, so you should be able to see it and make further posts there now.
  15. weld a plate (or a big washer) I reckon. and replace the bushes too
  16. unplugging the AFM should not cause an issue, unless you were very unlucky and something broke while you were doing it. If you changed the intake I'd suspect a boost leak somewhere. Double check everything including all the clamp being tight. Also it can be hard/impossible to see if the intake is on the AFM properly so you may need to do it by feel.
  17. don't worry about the compression. if you lost half of it you would notice immediately the first time you put your foot down. shelly, did you get a flat battery? if it's the alternator you will almost certainly get a warning light on the dash. plus it's easy to check with a multimeter....you should have about 12v with the car off, and more than 13.8v when it is running
  18. hijacker! once you find the broken wire it is easy to fix. if you find a lot of stuff you can replace the whole loom in a couple of hours if necessary. finding the problem is the hard part.
  19. you have beaver too? but in this case the rear wheels are on the sloping section? I do like the no side rail idea.
  20. Hey Daniel just so I am clear, the loom into the ignitor and into the CAS is not the same as the short loom between the ignitor and coil packs (which yes, is often crispy!). You should check them too, we don't want to see you stuck again! (new thread, or season 2 on this one???)
  21. I spotted an Orange 33 with no rear wing boosting past my little shack at about 8 this morning, and then a black v36 near Majura Park shortly afterwards
  22. sounds like a reasonable start. I would go a little more camber in the GTR but I think your car is strut front end, right? I'd also go less toe at the rear but again it is different to gtr setup.
  23. yep more castor, less camber. Castor is dynamic camber so you get the benefits without the drawback on straight line traction. you have too much caster when either: * you cannot turn the steering wheel * the wheel fits the guard or firewall
  24. Hey great news to hear it is running, and well done to the guys who were able to heap over to lend a hand....that's how car clubs should be. However....just because it is running now doesn't mean you have no problem. As Peter Brock once noted, he never met a car that fixed itself. Whatever was wrong still is, and it will let you down again one day, maybe in a less convenient place. I would suspect bad wiring as the most likely culprit (I think someone else said that a few pages ago). Get the car started, and the jiggle the following wiring: *Into the ignitor from the engine loom * from the ignitor to each coil pack * into the CAS. I think it is likely that when you fiddle with one of them the car will start to misfire or even stall. When it does you know which part of the loom is the problem. Don't tug on it like a 14yo boy, but don't be to gentle either because you may not make the issue recurr.
