  1. My real name is Duncan, my forum name is just an alias I hide behind. And the 300RS stagea from the dyno day was mine. Thanks for getting this together Eric
  2. ahh interesting, I hadn't seen that style of lock kit before. It's very similar in concept to the factory non-hicas setup on the stagea. I am not excited about the design of the brackets because they have a single bolt, and no apparent locating dowel or flanges against a locked surface. In any case, if a bracket with a bolt that big is moving it will not be a smooth "wiggle" but rather a sharp/clunk unless it is finger loose. also you would see scraping on the paint of the subframe if it was moving. given the inner and outer rod ends are bearings and new they should be easy to check for slack. is the outer end now a bush of some sort instead of the factory ball joint? If so, it might be the whole subframe that is shifting relative to the car?
  3. bloody hell, this build started before the internet, digital cameras, or facethingy!
  4. Your alignment is fine, might be a little taily on the track but that can be fun (personal preference). Plus, alignment would only create instability at the rear if there was a lot of toe out. So, I reckon there is a problem in the toe control. Start at the centre and make sure the lock bar is bolted down securely, then check the inner tie rod ends are tight. But I reckon it's almost certainly stuffed ball joints at the outer/hub end of the tie rods. That was the issue I had, and I had exactly the same "tail wagging" feeling. Unfortunately they are both painful and expensive to replace, I could not find an aftermarket option
  5. Will be interesting to see the data as it collects. I'll bet a gtr motor that top speed relates almost directly to power
  6. Any track is a good track in my mind. And, you will surely learn more about car control at a short, tight track like Marulan than you will at a quick, open track like Phillip Island or Eastern Creek. You can go fast on those big tracks but it doesn't even really feel that fast on a wide track with big run offs.
  7. good luck down there. I've only done one of their events but it was good fun and much cheaper, I'll be back for sure.
  8. well on the bright side it will be a good test of banjo sizing. symptom 1 of too much oil to the turbo will be burning oil at full boost (grey/white smoke) symptom 2 of too much oil to the turbo is the turbo seal blowing. If neither of those happen, it's not too large
  9. lol I had to google onesie. must be a cold climate thing
  10. yeah I'll only be here 3-4 days each week so Friday night meetups won't work for me....happy to hear about any midweek stuff though. PS, it's still f**king cold this morning
  11. how f**king cold is this city of yours? BTW, I am working down here for 6 months.
  12. shouldn't be much if any hassle fitting a fire extinguisher. how is the bottom part of the back seat held down on a v35, is there a bolt? if not, you can use a simple piece of aluminium between the passenger seat bolts like we did in the leaf. randy, facewhatnow?
  13. wtf is that flaky white stuff under the car??
  14. spotted oliver in his grey m35 towing the 180 down to wakie this morning. NB marulan BP is f**king cold at 7am
  15. haha it's early for beer mate. or maybe late from last night?
  16. he looks good in a dress Nissan threw away 6th by neglecting to put enough fuel in....who would make that sort of error
  17. hmm not popular this year after all? anyway, I am enjoying seeing drivers trying on cowboy boots and using lassos. Haven't seen any racing yet today?
  18. c'mon man, even you don't have a 31 anymore! In fact, I think you might have come all the way to the mid nineties by now with an R33? It surely does, electric motor and one gear.....lets see a reverse slalom at the next texi
  19. before and after, 30mm lower needs rims
  20. May be a real car, they are eligible for SEVS import so the price sounds reasonable for 2009. http://www.raws.com.au/SEVSRulingC.asp?RulingID=622 No point trying to compare Nissan OZ / Inifinti OZ robbery to free market prices....they want $86k for a v36 skyline afterall. BTW I'd have to say I'm not a fan of the shape.....worst thing I've seen since Subaru Tribeca or Porsche Cayenne
  21. Nothing to do with my car....but this is an interesting idea: http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/formula-ones-electric-rival-20130516-2jp0h.html
  22. Well 9 times out of 10 those symptoms describe a pop-ed off or split intake pipe. The other time it is a blown turbo You really need to pull the dump pipe off to check the rear turbo wheel if you can't find a split hose, or maybe just check in the front of the cat....
  23. sorry. turns out today was mother's day, not dropping leaf day
  24. Thanks Christian, works now.
  25. I'm not sure of the offset, but the 34 gtr rims I run are an excellent fit, 18x9.
