  1. I see Steve-o....I assumed from the thread title "SAUNSW - Club events" that this thread was for SAUNSW club events. My mistake.
  2. +1 I've accidently bumped this switch a number of times
  3. Which category for racing. Changing to a non-nissan v8 will limit you majorly.
  4. lol, I think it needs to calculate a little harder....
  5. Hi Steveo, I noticed you included the A$h Nats as a club event - you need to remove it as it is not a club event and all of the income goes direct to a A$h instead.
  6. ?Isn't Kinglake near Bt Buller, Mt Baw Baw, Lake Mountain and THC? seems like you have an excellent neighbourhood to me. Try living in Sydney with: 1 race track they have just split into 2 dodgy 50s lap tracks 1 race track only supercars can run on (that costs $$$millions per year) 1 race track that is only available twice a year (yes, taxis again at one of them) 1 race track 3 hours from sydney with the worst weather in Oz.
  7. Interesting attempt to bring the regs back closer to what their competitors are doing. I still have absolutely no idea why type SV (or now time attack) exist outside the regular 1-4 classes. And they continue to rely on the meaningless rule of "road registered" without requiring "road legal" Andrew, you will be please to know that Time Attack regs say: 2.6.2 Coil over suspension kits are permitted. Hammerhead S13s are unfortunately banned.
  8. Well firstly, don't let that rego go until you absolutely have to! Rego might be expensive, but towing a car everywhere will cost far more (tow car + safe trailer + fuel/brakes/tyres when towing) Many of the overly commercial/try hard events have "road registered" classes of some sort - but they meaningless because they don't require "road legal", just current rego. Pretty much anyone can keep plates on pretty much anything so there is no point sticking to a class like that. The only other events to consider are rallies - these require registration of some sort to complete because at least some stages are on open roads. Full rego is by far the easiest, but most states except NSW have a rally/conditional/special interest rego that you can organise. If not, you can probably obtain a temporary "unregistered vehicle permit" or similar.
  9. Yep, a 110v inverter.....pretty rare option! You would need to run a transformer of some sort to run 240v which would be a PITA unless you had some specific need. Or if your device can accept 110-240v all you need is an adapter for the pins
  10. Welcome aboard Brett....your timing sucks we had a big track day on saturday and you would have been a welcome addition. You should check out the information on joining the club in the NSW section
  11. sorry no idea but I have always just used a full bottle per radiator, together with distilled water. It took 5+o out the temps for me. But I wouldn't be too worried about 105 on a hot day. Oil temp is much more important, I have regularly run the car with water temps over 120 without issues.
  12. wierd eh? even HICAS or ATTESSA (my best guess for a clutch switch) has never been plugged in any car I've seen.
  13. 1 bottle is exactly the right amount for 1 radiator by my lazy calculations why are you looking to use it? Are you have temp problems or just trying to guard against it
  14. hahha good work on the pbs Ben and Lordvanwhateverthefcuk. Those Federal FZ-201s are the bomb (we had them on Neil's car too), and Mick even provided at track support ("yeah, that rubbing looks ok, miles away from the canvas yet"....which sounded to me like "get back out there and keep giving it hell you pussies!") Good day, and a good turn out despite the late date in the year. The only down side is that it was a bad day to be a rotor....did I really see a new record set by an engine failing while driving off the trailer? (all of a sudden I feel better about some of my blow ups lol)
  15. hahaha Nissan are normally so good about this....but there are indeed 2 plugs that fit together the wrong way around and will stop spark on the 32 gtr loom. you'll always remember after the first time you do it
  16. Thanks Darren, how could I forget my mates at Jaycar...I'll drop by ad check it out
  17. very sad to see this; obviously he was sick for a while but no-one should be gone with cancer at 35
  18. +1, first day out and almost no issues, I was stoked...excellent planning and work Neil. It did probably 10x 15min sessions, and no issues other than a tyre rubbing which we can sort out. Pretty hot in the afternoon too. the car handled very nicely, the front end grip was totally different to my gtr and a real pleasure. On the other hand you keep waiting for the power to arrive and it never does damn you nissan with your 7 pound of boost and little factory turbos I reckon Neil will get bored with 150rwkw pretty quickly....maybe he already has? Even so I would guess lap times 1.15 to 1.12ish. No timer on board but there were videos so I guess he could work it out from that.
  19. Exactly correct Andrew, I just want to replace the factory stuff because one of them has failed. I don't want to go out of my way to buy crap ones, but I am just looking to run a factory system from the head unit i have....it will never have amps/top shelf head units/ additional speakers etc etc Thanks everyone, it looks like I should be buying 6.5 front and 6 rear (and perhaps should measure first lol). I'll go low but not lowest available price range
  20. Excellent call....I have absolutely no idea why they have a clutch switch....there are no wired to them, and I can't see where it would be needed even if there was.
  21. have you still got that rotten factory clutch line that goes halfway to the boot and back? If so, best thing to do is ditch it all and use a direct clutch line - or if you don't want to do that, there is another bleed nipple on the loop. You will need to bleed there and at the slave cylinder. Even then it can take ages because so much of the line is horizontal.....get the nose of the car as high as possible.
  22. OK thanks guys, I assume from the replies that any speaker the right size should drop in, something like these would be OK? $80 a pair at supercheap
  23. OK, so I have pulled apart a bunch of cars over the years, but all I've ever done with the speakers is rip them out and throw them in the bin. Now it seems one of the speakers in the rear door has failed in my car. How easy is it to find a drop in replacement? Will a $30 set from supercheap work for someone with wooden ears like me? What size do I need for C34 rear speakers?
  24. Pete, I heard you've made up a story to pike because you were afraid to go head to head in the drinking?
  25. hahah +1, great feature!
