  1. Great work by the organisers today, I thought the day went really well. And like Ron said, the weather was anything but usual for Wakie in July. A huge thanks from us for John, Ben and Dave from UAS, they got our race car back together at about 5pm yesterday and it ran beautifully all day. We did about 15 sessions between Kel, Neil and I, so at least 150 laps. And got though 140l of fuel too (just for you Ben ). No sign of issues with oil or water temp despite almost continuous running. Tried to give as many people a run in the car as we could, but in the end I think we have a turbo seal problem so I parked it.
  2. Congrats on running the car at Wakefield today - some niggling problems I think but that is normal for a first day out. well done
  3. wrap up over here! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sa...ea-t329268.html

  5. hitting the road now. its cold. but not as cold as wakie will be
  6. that doesn't just happen mate, something is wrong. right master cylinder push rod? brake pedal OK?
  7. It's all true. UAS jumped through all the CAMS hoops AND got it finished 3 hours before I had to leave. A+++ would buy again. definately driving down on its own to put some k's on it. but I will bring the trailer to make sure I don't need a trailer (kind of like an umbrella). leaving early tomorrow....see you's all down there.
  8. lol personal. I've got one of those in the navara ute. got it for $10. for race use, a suede wheel with no/little dish + a just jap quick release is the way to go. for street driving any leather 330mm wheel is good. I think 350 is too large and 300 is too small (although mark swears by the small wheels). 330 suede for me from OMP or sparco.
  9. hmm they must be back. I had my nissan go missin there a few years ago
  10. drop Risking a pm, he has a 32 gtst shell with a cams compliant cromoly cage going cheap
  11. that's it....I'm respraying the front of the race car and dropping a brand new motor in it.
  12. filthy ricers! I understand Reece's car also has 5 reverse gears and 1 forward, just like their tanks.
  13. Liz we are full so we can do a refund. send me your mailing address and I'll organise a cheque. unless someone takes your spot first
  14. damn straight there will be people left....we have over 40 cars + passengers + spectators....plenty of people coming along. Bring your jackets!
  15. lol 7 bar sounds nice. might have a bit of trouble holding the head on. in unrelated news....I saw pics of the super turbo's older brother today....its a 1985 K10 March Turbo. Love the dash and steering wheel...
  16. while we are chatting about CR instead of turbos for a moment... I just checked old v new paperwork. I have had heads cc'ed at 63.5cc and 64.5cc. Had the one today been decked? It was the lower cc at 63.5 so higher CR. BTW overall CR will be affected by chamber size, gasket thickness, piston style, block height and even bore. lots of variables....
  17. I know Nathan (Nathan) and Kevin San (not sure of nick) have 2 in good condition in NSW. Nathan is working on at least 1 other one as well.
  18. Just spoke to the cafe-ers today, they will be open from 8am for hot coffee...
  19. I don't understand why we can't just cut the power to the hydraulic pump. that's where the preload comes from
  20. yep it says "an intake restrictor". that got a bit tricky for GTR with 2 intakes but the mighty march only has 1 intake. I figure the only chance for a turbo car in IPRA is either spend way more than 1 can afford, or something light and small enough that the restrictor won't limit power. No chance of 900cc making make 350hp so I am safe.
  21. what is your intended use? cams racing? AASA racing? ANDRA thingy? among other things, CAMS require the main hoop to be 45mm with 2.5mm thickness, or 50mm with 2mm thickness. Other members carn be 38mm 2.5mm thick or 40mm with 2.0mm thickness. Assuming it is a japanese bolt in cage it almost certainly doesn't meet the CAMS requirements. Also watch out for the design of the A pillar mount - if it has more than 1 bend at the windscreen it is not legal (most around the dash cages don't comply as they have an S shape.)
  22. assuming it is front (rears generally have the thread to pull it off the handbrake drums), it is likely just light surface rust sticking the caliper to the hub. so, as said above bashing with a rubber mallet or similar will do it sooner or later. hit the face of the disc with medium hit around the outside and it will come free.
  23. I'm running the 245/45/17 federals, but on 17x8" rims. I don't know why you would go that narrow on 9/5", go for 265 instead. The federals are cheap for a great performer.
  24. night shift this week. at least there is nothing to do but whore in Noddy's thread.
  25. I don't see the issue. You will get much better prices and service from Just Jap than Nissan anyway. It took Nissan dealers 10+ years to start supporting imported r32s (and later models), but now they happily supply anything and keep a lot of stock on the shelf.
