I have the same dilemma with a rb20de cefiro. It's auto and I want to keep it auto. Can I use a link rb26rb20 plugin? Do they have a built-in map sensor to do away with afm?

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
Griffin replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I was amazed how light the alloy ones are. Why is the 9174 so cheap? That part reason why I got it. I still haven't got a rear housing yet . Got stuffed around by Sparesbox. Was waiting til gcg got them in stock as shipping from overseas was a killer. Will be using 1.05. don't have any power goals, whatever it makes on 26 -30 psi on e85. -
Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0

I've got one to go on my 26, it's an alloy chra as I was given that due to no iron ones in stock. Not sure if there is any benefit. I haven't started fitting it up yet. -
Tb48 turbo sizing help I'm in the process (slow) of building a d22 navara powercruise car with a tb48 turbo engine. Will be automatic. So far I've got the engine and a Borg Warner s476 airwerks with 1.26 rear. Just after thoughts on suitability. I'm not looking for suggestions on the perfect $4k turbo I should use. I already have this one. I'd say the goal is around 800 who. Also if anyone is able to help out with supply/ fitting an aftermarket ecu in Newcastle area I am able to return the favor with fab/welding. https://www.full-race.com/store/borgwarner-airwerks/airwerks-sxe/borgwarner-s400sx-76mm-1-10-a-r-t4-turbo/

Recommend me a turbo/cam setup- RB25
Griffin replied to ironmcl's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm fitting a 9174 soon with 1.05 housing. If I was in your position I'd go with a neo engine and 8374. I've used Borg Warner turbos that are essentially s300 airwerks and love them. I did have a neo manual stages years ago with a trust t67 which was ok but poor compared to today's tech. I'm looking at fitting vcam to rb26 too. I'd definitely keep vct. If near Newcastle I can take you for a drive to give you an idea. -

Rb25 neo engine and efr 8374 ewg. I've got cams with a lumpy idle and it's annoying. Talking rb26 though but stock cams were better anyway. -
Is there any difference having wastegate on manifold at / before collector over the turbine housing?
-
And what manifold and wastegate?
-
1000 rpm going from stock exhaust manifold to an aftermarket one?
-
I wouldn't bother.

Plug the pcv valve. I've seen oil pushed out of breather into air filter inlet .

I run 305 on 10.5 inch rim.

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0

What did you end up getting? I looked into getting a housing and clamps kit from overseas but shipping meant it was easier to source locally. Who is stt Paul? -
Efr turbo housing and waste gate options.
Griffin replied to Griffin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I was actually thinking of a pair of 38s. I don't see why it would not be sufficient either. -
Efr turbo housing and waste gate options. Im about to start fitting a efr 9174 to rb26 with 264 cams on e85. Custom manifold. Is the 1.05 ewg t4 ts housing the way to go and what size waste gate/s will I get away with? Will run 25 to 30 psi.

What would the real world difference be between those 2 housings?
-
Better off using a neo head . Sell the 26 head you have.

Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
Griffin replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
9174 alloy supercore finally arrived today. I'm surprised how light it is. The housing I was looking at adapting won't fit so I'm looking for a t4 1.05 TS housing if anyone has one for sale. Anybody have any feedback on the alloy core vs iron core? -
I'm looking at vcam with the 9174 on rb26. What do you thinks the gains and cost will be? E85 already.

The people at Sparesbox are all very nice to speak with, I'm just not sure they know what they are doing. I was told today the 9174 steel centre has to come from Borg Warner. They can get an aluminum one from the warehouse in the states . They've agreed to send me an aluminum one at the same price. Fingers crossed it happens. Good luck with your smaller one.
