  1. I thought the immobiliser was a compliance requirement?
  2. I think the 'automatic mirrors' come with the security system. My Sedan has the factory alarm and it has the automatic mirrors, but does not have a reverse camera.
  3. probably worth mentioning that no V35 has a 222kw engine stock.. they are 206kw.. The skyline didn't ever get the 'revup engine like the G35 and 350Z did..
  4. So why are you argueing with me?? Hmm.. wrong yet again.. LEDs work perfectally fine on suitable dimmers, it is the dimmers that have the problem.. they don't like the reduced load of the LEDs in these cases.. Anyway.. I'm out.. you go back to your 'amperage' now..
  5. Lol.. I forgot it is still school holidays. in regard to 'speaking BS' - 1. It's call 'current', not 'amperage' 2. the additional resistors are designed to present the same electrical load as the original bulbs, as the LEDs normally don't, unless they have such resistors intergrated. 3. Decent quality automotive bulbs are easilly as durable, I have seen plenty of cars driving around with LED brake lights in the rear window, or rear spoiler with half of them not working. - and as I said.. 12 years in my old J30 without a single failed brake, parking, indicator or headlight bulb. 4. at no point did I try to 'scare' anyone from using anything, I just disputed your 'really good bang for buck' claim. Facts - 1. LEDs are useful if you want a different colour without using filters on the bulbs (which reduce light output), they draw less power or produce more light for a given power rating, run cooler, and can have a decent lifespan, unless you buy cheap dodgy ebay LEDs which have a lifespan of about 12 months.. 2. LEDs often upset car electronics.. there has already been a few threads in regard to people having the 'auto dimming' feature of their V35 interior lights not work with LEDs. And some reporting 'failed brake light' warnings on some cars due to the reduced load. 3. To make sure we all understand, I will repeat myself in capitals - USE THEM IF YOU LIKE!!! 18 years in the broadcast electronics industry has given me some knowledge of what LEDs are and how they work..
  6. Sure if you like them then go for it. The main benefit is the range of colours if you don't like the normal incandescent colour. Also in the 12 years I owned a J30 Maxima, the only 'bulb' I ever replaced is 2 interior dash lights. I wouldn't be surprised if LEDs have less lifespan than decent quality automotive bulbs. I see some companies now selling 'loading resistors' for those that have retrofitted LEDs and have issues with their car electronics, they are designed to present the same electrical load on the cars electrics as normal bulbs.
  7. Yes, have tried interior lights.. I found the brighter interior lights too bright at night and switched back to the standard bulbs.. but if you like them.. fine. I have a torch in the glove box for finding lost stuff in dark parts of the car. Parking lights are not supposed to be bright, it will probably make them illegal if they are too bright. No. Plate lights.. well, they don't really need to be any brighter. There has also been a few posts of issues with the interior lights not working properly with LEDs.
  8. try this. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/g35-clear-side-marker I would have to disagree in regard to the LEDs.. they cost 'bucks', but return zero 'bang', unless you just like a different colour light.. Plain old lamps do the job just fine.
  9. I have them on my sedan, and was initially going to remove the, but found they are great for leaving my windows down a little while parked in the sun at work in north Qld.. no one can see they are down a bit and if it rains, you don't have a worry, and the car stays so much cooler!! (I park in a secured parking area before anyone quotes the recent news story!!)
  10. I think you can get genuine clear indicators for about that price.. haven't searched for a while though.
  11. No such thing as a 250gt coupe (or 300gt).. all V35 coupes are 350gt
  12. Looking at the mounting instructions, I wouldn't be carrying anything much larger either than a bike or 2 either.. It's bolted to the aluminium bumper frame, which is in turn just bolted to the body of the car. I don't think I would be brave enough to tow even a light trailer with this setup... certainly not the 1500lb (680kg) it is supposably rated for.
  13. yes, both sides are motor adjustable, but the physical housing is angled inward more when in the open position on the passenger side, so if the mirror is set central in the housing, it is roughly in the correct position for the driver. LHD mirror housing will be angled to be roughly correct for the passenger on a RHD car. The motor adjustment may have enough range to correct this, but it will likely be at the extent of the adjustment range. If you are able to adjust them correctly, then it shouldn't be a big issue.. just thought I would let you know.
  14. Umm. Do you realize left and right door mirrors are angled differently? If these are for a LHD car you might not be able to get the mirrors to adjust far enough to line the up for a RHD car. Note- given previous posts, I thought I had better clarify Right hand drive is what we have in Aust.
  15. This is the only one I am aware of.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/346667-servicing-your-v35-list-of-whats-needed/ for the V35, but most items would be the same. some of the V36 owners might need to get together and put together a V36 list..
  16. Sure. Serving is easy as long as you use the right fluid (which is quite expensive). But if something goes wrong, you will still struggle to find someone willing to crack them open. But as a transmission, I don't think they are inherently unreliable compared to standard autos.
  17. There are a bunch of them on car sales at the moment.. But yours seems to have a lot of extras which makes your asking price quite reasonable. I think it is the repair costs of the CVT 'IF',something goes wrong that scares people. Good luck!!
  18. It isn't like you are looking for an uncommon colour either!! Maybe they are commonly damaged and therefore sought after??
  19. sorry, I didn't intend to offend.. just was struggling (and still am) to understand how the RHS of a car or anything else could ever be anything but the RHS.. unless the front/rear of the object wasn't immediately obvious. And your right.. I didn't Google, the idea that this was difficult to understand never crossed my mind..
  20. You will need to remove the black plastic coating from the side of the switches to access the screws. Not sure how much you can dismantle the switches though, you might need a whole switch assy if you are sure it is the switch.
  21. Just on that topic. several aftermarket Y-Pipes for the LHD vehicle will hit on the steering in out RHD car, usually some minor modification with a hammer sorts out it. There is a few threads on that too if you want further info.
  22. Lol.. Left and Right are relative to the observer? I wish I had thought of that in school when the teacher said 'raise your right hand'
  23. ?? how can 'Right Hand Side' mean anything other than the drivers side?? (in Australia)
  24. Mostly.. excluding LHD specific parts or items unique to the 300GT (USA didn't get this specific variant). or things like a speedo cluster, which will be in MPH. also be aware how the infiniti model naming works. A G35 has a 3.5L engine.. so it could be a V35 or V36 body. Make sure you buy parts for a 01-06 model (or 01-04 for series 1 specific parts).
  25. If you have auto headlights, you need to turn the headlight switch to the first position to put them in 'auto' mode.
