Warning: Car Theif targeting cars at Macquarie Centre

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have just been informed by a friend that his white R32 GTST was stolen the other night while parked at Macquarie shopping centre in Sydneys northern suburbs. He was seeing a movie and came out to find his car space empty and no sign of his R32 anywhere. Upon calling security they confirmed his rego and said his car had been found on the bottom level of Macquarie carpark blocking traffic - The theif or theives had by the looks of it tried to push the car and didnt appear to have succeeded in starting it.

The police that took his statement kindly commented that their is some young tool around 15 years of age who is known by police for having a thing for Nissans and he repeatedly steals Nissans from Macquarie along with other cars. They also mentioned that due to his age he continually gets away with it and proceeds to do it again.

Police apparently also added that many of the cars he steals are found in the housing commision parking in the area and funnily enough they also made mention of the address of the offender saying that it was clearly his work, they recognised the signs ie the drivers seat so far foward it almost touched the wheel etc etc.

Im sure these facts will interest alot of people who are sick to death of their pride and joy being stolen and ripped off by these theiving scum.

Be careful people!

guys im going out with my g/f to the movies tonight out at penrith.......

i hope no one comes to visit him tonight with a basball bat....

and even if they do it wont be me coz like i said ill be at the movies with my g/f

:)

pm me address please... just curious as to where he lives thats all

My car was attempted to be stolen from maq centa, unfortunately all they did was get down the ramp to talevera rd, and then they realised the engine wouldn't start so they tried to roll it in neutral. It wouldn't roll, so they dumped it n ran. By the looks of it they had tried to get the steering wheel and stereo out but failed.

From then on I left my car at work in Nth Ryde n went with a mate in his bomb :)

I've had a fair few friend loose steering wheels n sh!t at maq centa... think its about time they installed cameras.

It'll stop them from taking the whole car, but it hurts just as much when they scratch or take something small.

I still want to give this young meat some westside lovn. He can be my personal b*tch to whip...

heh, maq centre has been RENOWNED for a LONG TIME for this!! i know a HEAP of people personally who have had their cars stolen/broken into/damaged while it has been parked there...

never go there!

I've heard exactly the same thing ages ago Prank, Macquarie shopping centre is just too ****ing dodgy - I've never had any problems with Westfield at Chatswood, Hornsby, and Liverpool though - any one on here heard anything about those places?

But yeah definetly steer clear of macquarie :-/

I have heard rumours about Macquarie Center but i wasn't sure how credible the allegations were. Now, after reading this forum the truth has been exposed.

I have parked my Skyline there many times before, thankfully nothing has happened, but now after reading this forum I am thankful my $8000 NISMO wheels are still on my car.

Thanks for the warning, I'll stick with Chatswood or Hornsby Westfield.

Cheers,

Simon :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

they mainly target Tuesday nights where most are there to watch a movie or Thursday nights... some watch movies after shopping?? I haven't heard much of stuff happening during the daytime though, I used to work in North Ryde and goto Macquarie Uni and parked my car there alot of times.

Yeah, Livo Westfields is surely a no go zone and also Parramatta and Burwood Westfields. I personally know of people who's had their car done at those places. I guess the best thing is to stay clear of big shopping centre carparks alltogether, especially at night.

A basic tip is to not draw attention to yourself before you park. That is, don't rev your motor so the world can hear, make your BOV scare the crap out of old people, and also don't pump your stereo out loud before you park. Doing these things simply announces to theives that you have arrived and got gear worth knocking off.

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo :-D
    • Echo the awesome sentiment 👍 Definitely a car worth saving. Looking forward to seeing updates as well.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
