If i get in ill take it semi serious in that i really want to do a 1:09 at Wakefield with the RB20...outside of that, if you dont spin your not trying as far as im concerned so ill be trying ....and spinning :)

Actually why be modest.... The Rb20 POWAH comes into her own in goold old Goulbourn. Any Vic GTR that crosses the border will soundly have its ass handed to it by the R32 :)

In Vic they are quick, in NSW SBS is bound to get you leaving the pits :D

Well Brisby - from what I gather I think we might all actually get only 1 timed lap. The rest of the time is practise.

So if you are planning on spinning in the timed lap you won't be doing a 1.09. You'll just be losing. But then if I've ever met a loser......

:)

But now I'm really interested to see what cars they are choosing for their "30" since they got 420 entries. I wonder if there is going to be a bunch of HSV's or things like Porka's or even exotics? Or whether it will just be Jap turbo cars.

Since I wouldnt have even known about this event if it wasnt for this thread 420 entries is heaps. God knows who they are.

Actually - I have considered the SBS thing. How funny if it happened to me. I mean I wonder if I will be the only GTR there without sump baffles? I'm pretty sure I'll be the only GTR there with stock internals.

Funny how guys like Tory, Troy, Roy, Tray etc etc can all claim to own the same car:)

...and what Snoman says. If they had their head screwed on they should get the best of everything, which means top Porkas, Evos, STI1s, Skylines (ie GTRs), Toyotas, Holdens and Fords (if there are any quick Fords???) etc etc.

Anyway, time will tell, one timed lap all day will be good actually, it will really help the likes of Fatz...go the RWD local boys :)

My boobs are the result of years of excess/indulgence my friend...all natural.

Im going to ring that guy i crew for to see if he can ask his friend to drive my car..its no BDA Escort, but :D

...and whoever said the truth hurts, its actually kinda funny

Go to any Sprint day at Eastern Creek, Oran Park. Open Practice Days at any track. East Coast Rally etc etc. There are plenty of cars that are prepared by plenty of workshops...so throw in hillbillys liek me and 420 deosnt really surprise me considering there would be Vic, NSW and Brisbane entrants

well your motor is already on its walk to the grave.

So it wont matter if it sh|ts its brick

I remember that day at Sandown, Snowie (the Ice Supra pic). The Ricebucket was pissing oil everywhere and it went all up the side of my nice 33 in right of pic :D

No love for 33's Pete, it's not a slider's battle; now where's my sump dammit? :) Maybe Drunken can bring it as cabin luggage next time he's down.

lol its in melbourne pm me and ill give ya andrews umber

LOL - No-one asks me. I know everything remember :)

I'll talk to Andrew and see if i can get it... worst case i can drop it off too ya as i gotta go to Shan's one day next week to check some stuff out.

Should have PM'd... but meh.

Its only turned into snowy's trumpet blowing thread anyhow.

Cheers Ash, eitheer works.

How can you lot be so interested in what is mostly a waste of effort?

Autosalon/Cabin = pure crap

There's real racing to be done, and now I need a working bee to get mytrack car back out there :)

    • Block bump. $400. As above cyl 6 needs bore or sleeve.
    • I would think making the argument that the travel is limited by a spring flexing against a spring perch as "the same method". Later on in the document they do state that the spring can't bind on full bump travel and cannot come loose in full rebound travel as well. (which is all very sensible). The laws are actually pretty sensible and reasonable. It's just that the people who enforce and check them don't actually read them or know them accurately. "Oh, coilovers? Instant fail mate. Don't even need to look at it." - Guy who will be instantly reported by me. There is probably merit to people who do get defected for height also get defected for the suspension in that state that allows it. I did never consider the people who are complaining about coilovers being picked on are also running around at 50mm off the floor.
    • I think given SAU's knowledge of E85 we can strongly conclude that 10% ethanol in almost any situation is entirely fine. Almost all of the myths against E85 were overblown, let alone E10.
    • From your link See bold text, is this referring to damper settings, if so that may a issue for "some" inspectors, I cannot see aftermarket coilovers having the evidence that "must be available that its functional performance is equivalent to the original" Maybe just remove the adjustment knows and hope for the best???? Meh 5.2 Suspension travel In all instances, modifications to a vehicle’s suspension must ensure the integrity of the system and not compromise the ride quality. At least two thirds of the original suspension travel should be maintained in both directions (rebound (i.e. extension) and bump (i.e. compression)), and rebound must be limited by the same method used by the vehicle manufacturer or if this is not practicable due to the nature of the modification, an equivalent method. If an alternative method is used, evidence must be available that its functional performance is equivalent to the original.
    • They actually don't - They adhere to VSB14 rules just like Victoria. The rules are against CABIN adjustable height, and it quite clearly states that the height has to be within parameters. I asked the VASS engineer to confirm this when I got my car engineered and they refused to engineer the coilovers because they didn't meet the requirements for requiring engineering. (mine are height adjustable.) People "Not wanting to bother" with "Actually reading/knowing/adhering to the rules" should result in fines and immediately losing the ability to issue blue slips and/or RWC's in Vic.
