what a race. I was heartbroken that schuey couldn't get it done, but deep down i did not expect it. there were so many times this year he (or his team) gave away easy points. like the time he had to queue behind massa in the pits (big mistake, should have brought schuey in first, then massa next lap), the time he got penalised for the quali incident at monaco (i'm still not convinced it was intentional, and even it if was I think he was treated too harshly), we have the mistake whilst pushing hard at melbourne in the latter stages of the race, we also have the blow up at japan and the fuel pick-up problem in brazil quali. if even 1 or 2 of those had fallen schueys way I have no doubt he would have been able to tople alonso. it's just a shame that his long run of excellent luck deserted him when he needed it most. BUT even without his 8thWDC and without a final victory he went out like a true champion. showed everyone that he was class of the field by setting fastest lap, after fastest lap. he also showed kimi how lucky he is not to be his teamate next year.

i was hoping the FI GP corp might appeal to the race director to extend the race by 20 laps lol. one more stint and enough time for schuey to catch and race alonso, then we could really see what's what. he nearly got there but 19th to 4th was a magic effort none the less, and i'm very glad i used my DVD recorder to record it cause I will definately be watching it again.

We will miss you schuey. love him or hate him he brought a lot of interest to a sport we love, and he was great to watch pretty much every time he stepped into an F1 car.

F1 is basically soap opera for blokes. If you want a movie about grand prix racing try Grand Prix. Hopelessly melodramatic in the 60's tradition, but worth a look.

Muz, hate to dissuade you but BE doesn't own the rights to Brabham any more. Nothing wrong with the rumour other than that. Heard the one about Colin Chapman coming back from exile in South America to reform Team Lotus? Young Andretti will be driving for him. Cosworth motors. :P

Just knew you would accept the bait DJR. Yeah I wasn't too sure who owns what now as Brabham have been out of it for awhile and is Colin ("hmmm obviously to heavy .... it didn't break") Chapman really coming back to F1. Do ya reckon the old partnership of Lotus and Senna (Ayrton not Bruno) will be reformed?

cheers

Colin Chapman coming back to racing would be a greater feat than Jesus coming back from the dead, Colin passed away from a heart attack in December 1982.

Says who??? Has that been conclusively proven beyond all shadow of doubt? Oh and I suppose now your going to try and tell me that Ayrton has not been on an extended enforced holiday due to the fact that he was ruining F1 and wouldn't let anyone else win.

Gees, LOL

Didn't really think that question would get any takers at all:-)

i have nothing new of intest to add now that the season is over...

i just wanted to commemorate my 5000th post here in the F1 thread, where we had a great season and i only hope that 2007 is half as dramatic as the one we just had!!

Sorry to see Kimi go, but welcome Alonso...

it was a one off. i think just because it was such a special race, and because it was one of the few rounds at such an odd time for us. It would be nice if they always did it though.

what a knuckle head. how could he say that? It's like saying if schumacher had one less leg he may not have won any titles. fact is mate, your uncle did die, and MS did win 7 world titles. get over it!

yeah, i can get cranky. but seriously he's just proven himself nicely.... as another wanker with a fancy pants name and FA else.

i'm sure plenty of people would argue that even if Senna hadn't passed on that he wouldn't have stopped schuey winning anything except maybe the lucky door prize at the Monte Carlo Grand Prix ball.

ps, not neccisarily saying they would be right...

    • Order for the 2025 model R35 GT-R were accepted from 3rd March and 26th August the last order rolled off the production line at the Tochigi plant. Concerning the R35 GT-R replacement, current Nissan CEO Ivan Espinosa said "Nothing has been decided about the GT-R at this time, but we are well aware that everyone is waiting. The GT-R will evolve and reappear in the future. Please be patient until that day comes." Nissan has a lot of issues with management and finances so take Espinosa's words with a big grain of salt. From what discussions I've had and read about here in Japan, not a lot of people are confident about Nissan's future, let alone the next GT-R.
    • Thanks. We getting some parts along too so he will be solving the speed issue like next week so i will let you know what he came up with.
    • 21 is explicitly the coils detected as the issue. Is it guaranteed the actual issue? No. Just the ECU thinks it is. When you say rattling, describe it better, get an audio clip as best you can if possible.
    • Yea got me coppers. Bad news is I just put them in and the car still has the light and shakes. I also noticed I hear like rattling coming from the exhaust piping right under me. Does 21 also have a possibility of being O2 sensors?   So, coil packs are good, the harness is good, the MAF is working, and obviously the spark plugs just replaced and working.
    • Make sure you drop the GTT base tune back in, and set your injectors again, this will remove anything playing up with it you may have removed. Possibly lean there as it's normally a fast transient going THROUGH atmospheric pressure, and a turbo motor would then quickly go richer as boost builds. The only worry you MIGHT have is ignition timing, as the DE is higher compression than the DET from memory. But again, you're not in boost, so the DE motor will be a lot more forgiving at atmospheric.   Get Murray, Kinkstahs, and Johnny's input on tuning haltechs, those guys have played with tuning enough in the past to be able to help now you're past the trouble shooting stage of the MAP issue
