I have to upload that pic I took from the Autosalon thing.

Because how those tyres are called semi slicks is beyond me. They are slicks with 2 tiny grooves. lol

Yes I know pushing the boundaries but DOT and not as good in the wet that is for sure but may be better in the dry than fully treaded semi slicks but maybe not. Much cheaper than all the other semi slicks though. I guess I will have to go out and buy much more expensive RE55's or similar then and do it. What if faster though?? Maybe then it will be said it is our special car polish we use.

Grandad with the cardigan Here,

take it easy on JP you guys, do you know how much those tyres cost?

He's had to moonlight as a pizza delivery boy to be able to get those.

Hey Jp do you think if i take the baby seat out of the Zed it will go faster?

Hey some might think I am rallying zed owners onto the Skyline forum. At least I have GTR parts in my zed what are you guy's doing over here??

Hey by the way here is the times and notice an R32 GTS-T in the 51 bracket also very good. Faster than a few GTR's also, what's going on. Also Reddy good time in the 51's. Huge improvement from the last one.

GTR Jason popped in yesterday to the track but car not ready otherwise he would have been in there re the times too I suspect.

I reckon...

They are a dangerous tyre, its that simple.

In the wet they are 100% certain death trap and shouldnt be used.

I dunno who's cock was stroked to get them legal, but the amount of trouble you had keeping your car on the track is just evidence those tyres are un-safe.

What if faster though?? Maybe then it will be said it is our special car polish we use.

I reckon you get out there on a set of RE55's like everyone else :(:) :) ;)

I mean, put it through the business as promitional or something.

Im sure you have a bean-counter who can work that out. I mean, it is promotional isnt it? :)

My wife is the bean couter and not fussed on cars or race cars much so a bit of smoke and mirrors. Yes claim it all on tax but funds are tight. The Hoosiers cost me almost half what Dunlops or Bridestone semi's cost me. They are radials and DOT approved.

i once saw a young zed owner leaving some special polish on your car john, not a pretty sight!

lol

:)

Was it the go fast stuff or fast go stuff Richard?

Now John, if you really want to improve your track times I will drive the wagon down and put the tow rope on. You pay for the fuel, Ill take care of the beer and pizza.

Best regards,

Ken from Darwin.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
