Places to get Skyline Serviced

Recommended Posts

Guest Lojikl

Howdy all,

I have been getting my GTST (and my old 180SX) serviced by a friend (mates rates 'n all) up in Osborne Park for a while now.

Problem is its damn far from where I live now, can anyone reccomend some places around the Vic Park/Bentley area that are good to get imports serviced at reasonable prices.

Cheers,

C-red is also a performance house - their website is on the net somewhere and Jeff Ash whos owns it comes on the forum every now and them under - GTAAH so u might want to ask him but they have a really good rep and they are close to where you are.

Yeh i must admit i was a bit uneasy when i did my first oil change. But for the amount u save its definately worth it.

Waht exactly get done in a big service??

as far as i know its just, oil, filter, check timing, gear/diff oil, and if its a big 1 fuel filter.

The best way to find if something is broke is to break it and fix it later. No point replacing something that had 6 mnths left in it anyway.

i just bought one from nissan when i bought the iridiums cos i was feeling lazy

hehe

$90 for the plugs and filter i thought that was okay, but i am not forking for those plugs again,

how much are the plug gapping tools??

cos i got a cooler getting picked up tomorrow and i bought a bleed valve and the exhaust is sorted so i am hearing i should be getting the plugs gapped differently

can the iridiums be gapped differently??

dont buy expensive plugs, just buy cheaper ones more often, change them with your oil.

One thing to make sure is that you get the right oil grade if you take it somewhere like a local shop, i think most cars take 20W50, and it should be 10W40 or something, correct me if im wrong, but its something like that.

nothing wrong with ryco filters...

Except that genuine Nissan filters are cheaper (suprisingly). and presumably made by an oem that has good quality assurance procedures in place. Toyota oil filters are also cheaper than Ryco equivalents.

NO_RSPECT, how much for the plugs alone? Cheapest I found for NGK Iridiums was $15.50ea from Auto One Cannington, so sounds like you got a good price.

deesh, changing plugs on a stock plenum'd RB25 every oil change would get tedious very, very quickly ;) Damn that cross over pipe.
