Hard to believe, but after months of waiting and successfully selling my TE37s, my BRAND NEW CE28N rims won't clear my brakes. 381mm Harrop 6 piston

I could have the brakes reduced (bad idea)

I am willing to swap my brand new CE28N rims in Silver 18 x 10.5 +18

for a set of

18 x 10.5 +15 TE37 rims - second hand, but in good condition.

PM me if you know someone or want to do a deal..

I will not be interested in anything but 10.5in TE37s. Nothing else fits.

As much as this must be a pain in the ass for you - I can't help but find it funny :)

Will be a shame to lose the CEs though - they look porn.

TB asks if the problem is with the offset - can new hats be fitted to act as a spacer?

you got it. Spokes aren't an issue.

The thing is I took one of Jacks rims to Harrop and they digitised it and were able to use cad to fit the brakes in. All looks perfect. They did the same with the TE37 I got from James.

Thing is though, the TE37 fitted with ease, the CE28 didn't. (sob)

Tis a bugger alright. I waited months for them, spend a small fortune, sold the TE37s which James was kind enough to do a deal on, all for that extra inch. Admittedly, if I could get an extra inch somewhere else for that money I'd get it...

I may have to commit sacrilege and have my brakes machined a bit smaller and grind any unnecessary aluminium of the callipers.

At the moment, I am praying for rain next weekend. Then street tyres will do the job at Sandown, otherwise, Snowman - you got me..

Admittedly, if I could get an extra inch somewhere else for that money I'd get it...

Half your luck...doctors tell me there is no helping mine...no matter how much coinage i front with.

A silly idea that i havent thought through, but here it goes...have you spoken to Speedline or any other race wheel manufacturer? Is it perhaps possible to get a race wheel that is available in 5 stud instead of single hubs????

that sux Aaron, i have 4 pot brakes at front and needed 25mm spacers to fit my rims over the brakes, the spokes were the issue for me.

I was planning on getting dished CE28N's next year and i reckon i might have the same problem.

How bout Volk GT-N's Aaron? u tried them?

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
