You make it sound like I'm about to die Chris ;)

I'll have to get organised for SAUVIC then... despite the fact I won't have a Skyline (at least in VIC)... first day down will be 17th of July so I'm good to go anytime after that !

If it looks like you will be here for long just kill yourself now. What a cold miserable hole. 6 years and other than the track days and SAU outings I've despised every second.

Miserable one day - shithouse the next.

:D

If you're gonna live in melb, you're definitley going to have to pick and AFL team

True, you will be left out of many conversations if you don't follow AFL. I know from experience.

Seeing as you're from Sydney, and probably moving to South Melbourne, I think the the Swans are definately your team. They used to be based in South Melbourne.

I'm talking about day-to-day life, like work etc. Many of my Melbourne friends were big AFL fans as I found most Melbournians are. When conversing about AFL I never knew what the hell they were going on about. I had never known the rules and never heard of the players they often talked about.

To me the game was full of forward passes, knock-ons, and almost everyone is off-side. :D

Well I gotta say from a 'liveable' point of view Melbourne certainly has it all over Sydney. If you want to get somewhere, its straightforward/simple/easy, theres little traffic, people are generally friendlier and despite the occasional cool night and downpour, I'd say the weather has been good !!

My only gripe being that of having recieved a parking fine outside my own house... within a week... damn council.....

If anyone wants to meet up for a beer anytime in the next few weeks let me know / shoot me a PM :D

I can't believe no one has told you to spend a whole weekend at Revolver!

And is it Little Collins street where those side alleys go and there are little underground bars. Just walk around at midnight looking for well dressed people coming out of strange places and go where they came from.

Spent a number of nights/days there. Its a good place IMO. Awesome beats always. Never been disappointed even if there are some really mashed people in there

Few of us are local to you, well within a km or two. Local beers are always good as $50 cab fares home suck! Defo come to the meeting on Tuesday though. :)

I am in Port Melb, near the Tassie ferry.

look for no one in particular, just walk into the room that we are all in and talk to the first person you see! - they'll look after you!

Providing I'm finished work by then I'll be there.... who am I looking out for to meet so I don't end up standing around like an idiot??

PS: Need I ask what revolver is?

There are about 40-60 of us depending on the turnout.

We are in the meeting/function area with the projector. Not hard to miss, and you can enter the room from Moray St itself.

Its not as bad as people say if you ask me

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
