I take some Yoko A032 on 15/7/2006 and ask them to change the tyres for me....

When 1 of the staff is balancing the tyres, i notice that he can't balance the wheels for several times and he looks shit and keep saying f@#$%..etc...

All right.....i didn't drive the car for a few days..

On 20/7/2006, When i drive my car out of my drive way, i found that 2 tyres is flatted and i go to petrol station to pump my tyres up to 30psi....and after 2-3 hours, those 2 tyres drop to 18psi~ or so...

I went back to Donnellans and told them, they said should be a nail in the tyres, but turned out was the rims fitted badly....air was coming out from the gap of the rim and tyre......and they fix it for free..

On the next day, finally i got a chance to drive at freeway, Steering wheel is vibrating badly @ 100km/h...

So i went back to Donnellans and ask them to balance the wheels again.....the staff attitude is bad this time...like 'what are u going to do this time? Oh? Again!?' these kind of shit....after waiting for an hour(someone came later then me but go up the jack earlier then me, f#$ these shit), the guy took off the wheels, told me i need a center ring, but i told him my steering wheel didn't vibrate before i change the tyres...He even didn't bother to put the wheels on the balaning machine and i told him to put it on to see whether the wheel balance was out..and he said 'Ohh its a matter of time wasting'...pissed me off. I wait for one and a half hour, wow and they spend 1 min to take out 1 of my wheels and I am free to go.

I go to Tyre Factory in Mitcham next day, and ask them to balance my wheels again. They said the blance was way out, and yeah, no more vibrating @ 100km/h even up to 200km/h...

Thats too much bad comment with Donnellans....fit the tyres with wrong rotation...adjust coilover with different height all 4 corners...

...now i know they are bad....pissed me off, never deal with them again...

must say similiar thing happened to me when i bought mags/tyres off them 2 years ago...100km/h vibrations..never b4 the mags though...

anyway i went straight to my trusty mates at traction tyres in rowville and sure enough the balance was way off...

the thing is their prices are really good, in fact i am going there again very soon for some tyres, but straight after i am going to traction tyres for balance/alighnment/general check up :O

simple solution

haha maybe i am the only one who posted my bad experience, but most of my friends got bad experience with them, yea keep going there and u will understand what i mean, some guys are just dodgy there..

yeah i like the price of the tyres they got....but i will never fit them there....and wheel alignment too

hey dude, thanks for sharing the story :)

Its always interesting to hear peoples experiences, at least it informs people about the possibility of dodgy staff there....and to be wary if they have any problems later on...

i agree with interloper... ash... just cause they touch your hiney when you go in there doesnt mean that they do it for everyone...

i've never been there actually

I just go by the 100's of positive expiriences. I feel for donellans... this is really gonna hurt thier business

There is a time and a place for everything, bitching on a forum isnt one of them... plus the same thread appeared on NS.com... funny that.

Although that thread was removed. At least i was generous, and we got more of the story out from the complainer himself that he has had good expiriences in the past

Its the usual case of one bad cancells 5 good and someone doesnt see past that

They're cheap, but 'customer service' isn't a particular strong suit of them.

Might have something to do with having to deal with a shitload of tyre kickers from surrounding areas (yes, asians, who might not have the best grasp of english - and YES I am asian so I'm not being racist..!).

When I got semis on a set of rims (brought them in separate to the car), they took 3 hours to fit them and scratched around the valves (not too badly, so I didn't say anything).

I'm a little in agreeance that a little more customer service would be nice...

there's a simple rule that even when you're hot, you need to maintain service. What happens when you're not?

As an aside, if anyone has ever been into Subaru Docklands, and been asked to 'take a ticket and wait for 50mins', they'll eventually find out that customer service counts for one hell of alot.

    • I have done a lot of research before posting here and on gtruk forum. couldn't find anything. I have my gauges all part except the needle itself. the needle has a extremely small hole in the center, but the shaft going to the needle is extremely small and appears to have nothing to index it either. doesn't seem strong enough to simple pry or pull without damaging something. Already tried the old spoon trick on a extra triple meter I have from a gtt, but no luck. the center cap comes off easily but the hole in the meter face plate aren't big enough to get over the needle itself. figured this would be my best place to find someone who might have actually removed theirs. wonder if there is some type of small pin press tool to push the pin in while pulling the needle base off.
    • Ok...its taking me long enough to finally do this.  Feck financial security...heart disease will get me soon enough anyway So welcome to the garage..."Clem" Belsil80 has been running a 370Z in Super TT series. So after entering with him in last years Winton 300 i figured I  need my own car. Seems SAU Vic race cars need to be yellow....{tick} Reckon with enough motor i will be able to make up for the lack of talent and stay ahead of the 370Z... but the LS powered S13 and E36s are a ways up the road Aim is to have a car that doesnt stop or turn but has a bit of shed built motor with jam...maybe some cream  First step is getting this ex drift car log booked I am keeping faithful silver car. As the road-club car gets upgrades the race car wil get the sloppy seconds
    • Assuming that they will come off without damage at all.... i would have thought just pull straight up off the spindle with a something or other than can reach underneath. Have you searched for youtube vids of people doing similar on R34s or any other Nissan from the same vintage? They should be the same technique, in all likelihhood.
    • Keeping in mind that sandblasting is really aggressive on softer metals like cast alloy, and you can do damage that you might regret. For trash wheels, not a problem. For wheels with value/scarcity issues, etc.... perhaps a less aggressive media is a better choice?
    • Don't get all high and mighty. Experienced spanner wielders know exactly what effort is required to release an Oof.
