Caught Speeding With Sau Stickers - Sau Vic Committee Official Response

Recommended Posts

Greg - good pickup. It was late - have fixed now :)

Yes we do have a constitution, and it has clauses for such issues that occur at club events... but in this instance - WE DON'T KNOW WHO THE DRIVER IS - it is not our right, it is not our business. It is a police matter.

BUT if you did know the driver... ie. another member had reported the number plate of the driver then it is ur business?

not trying to carry on... just a few unclear things.

OK, thanks for the clarification.

condemn is a slightly better word :(

NO!

Club event = our business

On your own time = yours and the police's business

In the example above, if you saw me speeding or being stupid - I'd expect you to talk to me directly and tell me to pull my head in. Member to member.

I've said all I need to on this.

J

Yeah, i agree, if its at a club event like cruises track days etc. if your an idiot its the clubs business on what happens. but if your on the street its between you, the police and god if you manage to hurt or endanger yourself and or others.

some would say some laws are BS, but the main ones like speeding, dangerous driving are there for a reason.

how many people have to bullshit before people reliese there own actions. Of course everyone has put there foot down in 2nd in a 40 or 50 km zone, i sure as hell know i have, and can tell ya right now that 90% of the people on this site have. And to the people that say that they havent that is a load if crao cos i know you have, i have seen ya, lol. I know that it aint good for a club to be thought of being bad from the cops but really it up to the individual, no matter what the club thinks, on how they represent themselves. I think people are being soo harsh to this sertain person and need to be able to say hey pull up a bit. You all may say revoke his membership but, man, honeslty, please get over yaselves and relise that every person with a license is gunna get some sortt of fine in thier lifetime. Unless your that person sitting in the back row plying with ya self whilst repeating the workds in some movie; overnight part from japan!!! if ya know what i mean!!

Care to list each rego for us then?

And then, care also to list each rego that then has current SAU-Vic stickers...?

:)

I had to go and Import a Celsior so i was not driving my Skyline every day.

Whenever i see a fast looking car, on go the neons, up goes the boost,

and i'm off and racing NFS Most Wanted styles.... I cannot help it..... I think it has taken generation upon generation of inbreeding to get me to where i am today.... It's only bad if you get caught.

Any hoo off to breed with my sister now and go drag racing...

No need to worry, I have modified the sticker on my bonnet to read www.skylinesaustria.com and i will smear some poo on the other SAU stickers for the night. :P

I love my club i love my skyline and i have probably loved you or some one you know.

    • I'm actually not sure - I think it was "Stealth Performance" (It really is near impossible to find a FEMALE 1/8BSPT to 1/8NPT male at ALL) but having the thing leveraged on a 90 degree angle on a small aluminium fitting is not too smart. Also in not too smart, I've drilled out the center of the broken fitting so there's maybe 0.00001mm of thread to bite into, so yeah. I may have to get it drilled/tapped/plugged entirely. Given I could conceivably tap a thread/adapter/pressure line in any point in the oil system I suppose it's feasible to run a line to the Nissan Sensor to keep the dash working. Do these exist in AN fittings and the like? Like an AN fitting that has a NPT (or other?) thread as well for putting a sensor in?
    • I would agree.  There will be an amount of boost you could run safely with an otherwise factory system, but it would be low enough to not be worth the cost.  And if you are reliving your 20s, you know a 'little bit' was never enough. Personally, if I didn't want to spend the money, then stick with NA bolt-ons, and maybe a tune.
    • Fuark, at least the motor survived. What brand was the fitting that snapped?
    • Wrong question. There's no point in spending the rather large sum of cash and effort to add turbo, without taking it to the "sensible" limit of the motor itself. If you have to upgrade injectors, etc, then so be it. That is a tiny fraction of what it will cost you to turbo it.
    • Measure voltage at the starter solenoid terminal when the key is at start and it has clicked. If it is really low, then the suspicion falls on the ignition switch (contacts or wiring thereof) as causing a voltage drop instead of sending enough volts to throw the solenoid all the way to engage the starter itself. If it is a decent voltage, then the suspicion is on the solenoid. Might have s horted coil, or might hva dirty contacts. Rip the starter off, dismantle, clean up contacts and inspect winding. It might not be possible to see if there is a short in the winding though. I have a spare starter here that I could measure the resistance of the coil, as a guide to about what it should be, if you need a comparison. <parts hoarder>No you cannot have it.</parts hoarder>
