I just got my car back from the panelbeater.

A few things seemed very funny about the car.

1st thing is that my max speed on the car now is only 80kn/h.

It revs below 4,000 rpm just to go from 0-60

It revs pretty high just for it to go 20km/h.

It feels like its not even using the turbo itself. I'll leave the turbo for now.

The car feels like its only using 2 cylinders.

Panelbeater told me that he sprayed the whole engine bay with water. I noticed to when I checked the engine bay, my fuse box cover wasnt even on, everything was wet.

He told me just to let it dry and see how it goes tomorrow. He said that the sparkplugs might just be the problem... just wait for them to dry.

Hopefully this will solve my problem.

Does anyone agree with me on the sparkplugs?

Can they just dry up and be fine again? What about the fuse box?

if it sounds like a volkswagon then yeah more then likely yu have moisture in the plugs/connections..

disconnect everything and spray it out with contact cleaner/crc/wd40 and then just leave it out in the sun for an hour... plug everything back up and see if it runs then.

if not i'd be taking it straight back to the panel beater and making it their problem!

Water in spark plugs = rusted = shithouse performance. Most likely you'll need to replace them.

The guy is an idiot for hosing down your engine. It will need to dry out, check all your electrical connections, WD40 is a water dispersant and will help.

Take the plugs out and blow them dry with an air compressor. Check the coils as well.. Make sure your coil cover is tightly fitted for next time and when YOU wash it next, don't just get a hose and spray. Be careful.

And yeah, if it's just the plugs, you will know about it. If the engine sounds pretty normal.. then that's something else.

Is it a manual or auto.

If its an auto. then you transmission is stuffed.

I though the plugs etc would make the think kick like a mule when your taking off.Is this happening?

If its revving to 4000 and not moving your transmission is stuffed.

Hope i have been of some help.

:)

I went crazy with dielectric grease when I dropped the injectors in as I noticed a few plugs had signs of corrosion.

Should prevent furthur incidents when hosing down your engine bay. Its also good for battery terminals.

I always spray down the engine bay every 3months or so. Never had an issue.

sounds like the panel beater had abit of fun in your car bro he blew your turbo then hosed your engine bay so he can blame it on that lol... nah just joking mate i dont realy have anything to add everythings been said so good luck

silly question are all intercooler hoses conn?

check and see that ur crank angle sensor is pluged in properly check all conn ive washed my engine bay heaps of times and never had a prob also u got a boost guage see if its makin boost maybe ur turbo is shagged or id panel beater has d/c anything in the engine bay go over it to make sure it all pluged where it should be ul prob find its just somthin minor

abit of advice i was once given and live by it now wen tryin to find a fault allways look for the simplest things 1st

Spark plugs are probably having a nice spa right now.

Take it back to the di(khead panel beater and get him to fix it. (then try a bit of panel re-arrangement on his stupid skull!).

Oh, and don't let him near your car next time.

The worst thing you can do is hose/degrease/clean your engine and engine bay and then let it sit. If you ever do this start the car up and warm it up/dry it out straight away.

A clean engine is an alter to work [or pray] on!!

Damn I cant try out if the car is working fine or not.

Dead battery and its raining.

Is it possible to just try and figure it out by free revving the car?

1st of all Ive got to get it started. Don't want to jumpstart it in the rain.

Thats just asking for it

Call the panel beater,

Tell him the situation.

Ask him if he is going to fix the problem.

If he does not want to.

Then get a mechanic out to fix your problem.

Then pay for it .

Take the bill to the panel beater and get him to re-inburse your money.

Give him the bill to use on his tax return.

If he does not want to gie you the money then tell him you are going to small claims.

Why are you taking the responsibility on your shoulders bro.?

Oh just let him know when you call him what you are intending to do.

If he does nothing about it. Get a small claim tribunals report and state what had happend .

Then call him again to say you are lodging the thing.

He will see your way by then.

Just letting you know how to go about it.

CALL HIM.

TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT.

IF HE IS GOOD HE WILL FIX IT.

IF HE IS BAD HE WILL STILL HAVE TO FIX IT(Unless he changes his name)

I hope you get my drift.

Cheers

    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
