The series 3 GTR gearbox has additional synchros to help resolve the crunching problems hard driven gtrs had. And since they went to the 6 speed in the R34, the S3 GTR gearbox is the best of all of them.

And AUTECH are an aftermarket company kinda like BMW's Brabaus. They made a number of special skylines including a 4 door with a GTR driveline :D

I've seen inside my box and there are still the same amount of syncros, they do have three keyways and energiser springs tho instead of 1..I think thats correct, I'll check again tomorrow.

So the BCNR33-043388 works but not my 043389..

can we punch in 043388 and my model GGJPRWFR33ZZA-EQ-C to get some more info>???

thanks heaps for all the help so far. =)

I have a S3 GTR apparently could be a 98...go figure. Having alot of trouble getting parts for the gearbox as it is different to all other GTR's for some reason. The car has factory leather also...weird. I also have a 56K issue. Could someone help me Pls. =)

here are all the details I could find

E-BCNR33

Chassis BCNR33-043389

Model GGJPRWFR33ZZA-EQ-C (changed)

FS5R30A (Trans type?)

RC41 (paint?)

thanks

matt

Opps, I stuffed up :nowigetit:. I had 22 instead of ZZ in the model, does it work now???

net is old and not updated.

Yes that's probably the reason for it, although my version is 2003 and you would think that a car built in 1998 would appear......

Anway, all GTR gearboxes have the same number of synchros on each gear (for the R30A gearbox design), but there have been a large number of production changes over the years and the design of the synchros has changed considerably since the original R32 GTR type (they aren't interchangeable without changing a whole lot of other parts in the gb).

  • 3 weeks later...

Same for me as well.. cheers people..

VIN: ECR33135178

i'm getting the software now - but need it sooner.. I will be able to host it off my server @ 100kB/s once i've got it if people want a copy once i sort out the issues i've been having.. will keep people posted..

I sold my old 32 and im now importing another (this time im going for manual & sunroof :))

Can someone just check the specks for me.

All i got is the chassis No: HCR32 056977

EDIT: I also found a Vin/Chassis No. on my import approval but it seems to have too many characters(17). What would that mean?

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
