Guys we can chill a bit, it's not going to make mainstream news. I was going past the car in my skyline and was getting big greasers from the cops when i noticed the car upside down in the property. Recognised the lights straight away. Had my camera after coming back from a job, so got some pictures.

Look I don't meant to be too harsh, but... you fu$%ed up. I've F#@$ed up too, my mates have fuc#$d up, shit happens. Just a shame it was done in a 400kw skyline. EG, my mate bounced his 200rwkw S13 off the wall of a bridge, into a pole in a carpark, and then into a parked bus. Another mate rear-ended someone at 140ks dragging a skyline in a similar-specced silvia. Difference is, you didn't hurt anyone and everyone got out OK... not like my mate who won't have his license for a f**king long time and is looking at sharing a cell with Bubba and looking at never being constipated again.

The above scenario may be slightly embellished but the fact remains - some do some don't. Experience driving a 400kw GTR doesn't come from driving it once a week.

RIP One unique GTR

Hey guys, i was the passenger in that car next to the driver.... very scary stuff i walked away with just a couple of grazez on my right elbow, nothing major and both of my mates are doing fine i had a fair bit of petrol on my right leg.. lucky nothing sparked and caught on fire coz it was leaking petrol on the outside aswell while the driver was still stuck inside. I think we must of rolled twice the first being sideways and the 2nd being longways hence how we ended up like that ... we were actually mounted on the brick wall, both of my mates got out through the rear windshield and one of them pulled me out from the front windscreen. Long story short ... it was the shortest but longest test drive i will ever experience, coz it ended fast but then spent another 4 hours in hospital.

Sad to see it go like that coz if that didnt happen i was going to get it.

woah dude! that sounds truely horrifying! i couldn't imagine being in a car like that.. i think it'd take me a very long time to get behind the wheel of any car again!

good to see you're ok, with only some grazes!! have your two mates been released from the hospital as well?!

i say buy a lottery ticket!

Yeh we all got let out of hospital pretty much the same time, i think i got the worst out of us with a small gash on my elbow that didnt need stitches and just a few grazes on my arm.

The cops didn't stop telling us how lucky we were to be able to walk away from it and even be alive!! We got told about 200 times that we were sooo lucky and to go and buy lottery tickets, one of the chick cops complimented me while i was laying on the ground, the other cop goes "youse look good considering what happened" and then she goes "you look very good anyway".. i was just like whaaattt lol

We all can't believe that nothing happened to us.. it feels like we cheated death!!!

After we got out of the hospital we went back to the secure car park that my GTR was at and drove home and we weren't shaking or anything when the accident happened just stunned about what happened and happy everyone was ok.

first of all glad everyone is ok..

Dude.. at 29 "with experience" ... you should have known better.. the freakiest part of this is the sign that says kindergarten... please, stay away from fast cars.. do the community a favour.

I always thought someone would die in that car. Very relieved to hear that everyone got away ok. Just from those photos it looks like it could've been a thousand times worse.

I swear everytime I drive your old RX7 I think I'm gonna kill myself in it. What is it with your monsters?

Glad to hear you all walked away from it. RIP what looks like a very sweet car. But yeah, I can imagine the media having a field day on this one.

QFT.

Giving it stick on cold tyres? Brakes grabby? Anyone with a clue would have worked out what to do with a car like that - take it easy.. especially around a suburban area.

Very lucky nobody was hurt or injured. Sorry to hear of your experience GRKGTR..

wow! people are quick to jump on the attack. i bet if all the comments from people who have gone above the speed limit or have done something stupid in their cars were deleted, this thread would be pretty empty!

glad to hear all parties are ok considering.

GRKGTR I know how you feel mate.....I flipped my old corolla long ways in the air and landed on the roof on to a fence pole ie the fence went through my rear window.

It was one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me......and I wont be forgetting it anytime soon.

I walked away with only a minor concussion and some severe whiplash from the seat belt....

Glad to hear you and your mates are ok though...

Thats an interesting comment, and yes people are quick to say what they're thinking

But you have to admit, 140k's around a corner, with 3 passengers, outside somewhere there would be school kids if it wasnt holidays is asking for trouble

haha no caine...I wasnt...

I got rear ended by an XF falcon.....going WAY past the speed limit..

but in the end due to a "giveway" sign technicality I was at fault :ermm:

It was at a T intersection...I was turning right.

I thought it was ok to go, my mate who was in the car with me thought it was ok to go and a 4WD going towards my left flashed his lights for me to get through the gap and he thought it was alright to go.

So all up three people thought it was cool for me to come out..so I did and I changed to second and accelerated a bit...than BANG got airborne and landed upside down on the roof, everything went in slow motion for me.

Thing is if JUST got out and he rear ended my passenger side rear quarter I would say I was at fault cause there wasnt enough room for me to go, but thing is I turned, fully straightened up, changed to second and accelerated a bit in second than he hit me square from behind....

ehhh its the past....haha but I still get a bit fired up over it cause the cops were so biased towards the other guy.

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
    • meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it. A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)
    • I can donate $100 to your upgrade fund. So long as you can donate the IC7 my way....
    • I'd love a Haltech ECU, and Haltech 10 dash. Was having a chat with Rob and Andy @ Haltech when Rob put one in his MR2. First one I'm kind of interested in too, as you can dim it RIGHT down. Andy was saying bright dashes is one of his peeves too!
