Well its that time again where you sit around, eat badly and have ball drinking with family and friends. Only i have good form for falling through glass coffee tables and being rushed off to hospital where they refuse to stitch me up until im sober....never mind im bleeding all over the countryside.

So i need you all to go out and give blood for that inevitable fark up where i hurt myself. I gave about 3 months ago along with Sarah, Greg and James...though i don think they stockpiled enough for the magnitude of spill im set to have.

So, since the weather is a bit better, ill throw on a bbq once its all wrapped up as the Red Cross is only around the corner

I would be there, but im not eligable to donate

Me either.

Can't donate as I'm an ex pom and probably suffering mad cow disease. I used to donate in the UK, but can't over here (neither can my partner, and she's been a vegetarian for 20 years, must be mad spud disease).

Given the choice of bleeding to death or taking some blood that comes from someone that may have eaten british beef, I think my choice would be to take the risk.

Juz, the needles are nothing, just don't look. I've seen someone faint after giving blood, the girl insisted she was fine, stood up too rapidly too soon, and promptly fainted in a heap on the floor.

Yeah i know they are probably nothing but i seriously have to have that kiddy patch thing to numb the area before i can have any needles. I've been in hospital a fair bit over the last three years and I faint even when i don't look unless i have the kiddy patch.

I had to have dental work done under a general anesthetic because i couldn't have the needle in the chair i just keep fainting and even though i told them to keep going if i faint after you faint three times they have to stop.

Its a long story as to why i faint but its the way it is, would they be able to give me the kiddy patch to numb the area first?

They don't make you do it standing up... if you faint you'll be fine.

I think they have some rules to do with fainting...

and since this seems to be the 'donate blood' revival thread (or was there an even older one from before I bother subscribing to vic forums)...

who's is the gts4 with the 'donate blood' sticker on the back (gtst4 - also drives another old datsun/nissan)...

I think they have some rules to do with fainting...

It wouldn't suprise me if they did...

It almost seems like they don't want people to donate blood.

The list of things that stops people from donating is endless...

I've never been able to donate because I've always fallen into one or more of the deferral categories.

Some of the deferrals are in place to benefit the health of donors, but others just seem ridiculous. :spank:

I'm interested but I faint when I get needles so i don't know if I can.

I would probably have to speak to them first,

Is it possible to just come for the BBQ?

You don't need to have a needle - they can simply slash a wrist instead :spank:

Seriously, your support is appreciated, sorry you can't cope with the needle.

If you are serious about supporting the cause, how about a $ donation instead? Everyone that is ruled out for whatever reason - how about $s instead?

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
