ABuSD
How good is it when those guys are willing to head all the way to NZ for a race I reckon they found an extra kw or 2, they wouldn't want to come this far to get whupped.good luck Reece AGREED, they have been waiting for their record to be toppled for how many years now? Im sure they have been ready for this for quite some time. It would be awesome if Reece won!!! (without either car having problems, oh and Reece resets the records.....AGAIN ) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145108-hks-vs-reeces-gtr/page/2/#findComment-2715872 Share on other sites

Marlin
I've just heard (from a normally perfectly reliable source) that the HKS car is in pieces, and there's no plans to rebuild it at this stage. My source said he often speaks to one of the chief engineers at HKS via email, as he had stated that there no no use in continuing developement of the RB26, as it's now superseded. The majority of their efforts in engineering and more importantly advertising are focused the VQ series of engines and associated vehicles. He went on to say that HKS America now calls all the shots for all english speaking markets, and they also have no plans to put money into the 33 GTR drag car. So take from that what you like, I just thought it worthwhile to relay what I'd heard. I was getting my hopes up for a while there! lol Cheers, Ben Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145108-hks-vs-reeces-gtr/page/2/#findComment-2719544 Share on other sites

They need this title Well I hope I am wrong... like I say was only throwing up what I heard this morning. Gotta disagree that they NEED this title though, as it'll be virtually eclipsed by the title of fastest R35 GTR (or whatever they'll code it), due to it being a currently available car. Just my humble opinion. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/145108-hks-vs-reeces-gtr/page/2/#findComment-2719574 Share on other sites

He seemed to hint that it had just undergone an extensive rebuild and was being prepped for a return to the track.
