all it proved to me is that i'm right, and alonso is a hack. sure he made plenty of moves, but where did that get him? and how many actually came off? not many.

good work kimi. nice race. and what a change to see they actually let kimi pass massa. I was shocked. not a very good strategic move for the WDC.

yeah, it was a nice move. but it could not have been pulled off without the nice cooperation of nick. had nick not yielded and taken the escape it would have been over for them both. so yeah it was bold, but it wasn't that great as without nick letting the baby have his bottle it would have ended in a "Taku special". the fact that nick got past him again also means it was all for nought.

I just don't rate alonso. he has the best car in the field so it's no surprise he is beating all the other teams. but the fact that his rookie teamate is beating him tells me alonso is not that special at all. he has been fortunate to be in the right teams at the right times with good car, good engineers, plenty of reliability.

Alonso let his frustration get to him, he was nothing but reckless and dangerous last night. Good on Heidfeld for keeping a cool head and avoiding what would have been a nasty accident.

Good on Raikkonen & Massa for a clinical one-two.

..and let's hope those biased British commentators will shut up about Hamilton soon!

yeah, there is no doubt lack of reliability and a poor descision (on MS's part) at monaco cost schuey the WDC last year not. that was what beat him. not a 'better' driver.

If your including decision making.... Hungary was a no brainer.... :domokun:

The best thing that can happen at the British GP is for Hamelton to not finish the first lap. ITV might be banging on about Hamelton, but their still 100x better than the Aus comenators that contunaly interupt.

Well, the forecast if for rain. It's been raining every damn day so far, so we might get a real idea of Hamilton's abilities.

Haven't seen him pass anyone yet. With the local paper coverage, you'd think he's wht world champ already.

The worst thing is the headlines. Here's what I mean:

"How does he Lew it?"

"Thrilled to Brits: Lewis on home turf"

"Hamilton to order out for italian at home." (This one is a bit of a reach)

"Lewis the new Tiger" (In reference to Tiger Woods. I have no idea why.)

There are more every day. When some slapper comes out of the woodwork and claims that she shagged him silly when he was 14, I'll update everyone.

Interesting article about an ex ferrari employee, handing over secret files to a McLaren tech who has been temporarily suspended. Ferrari have lauched a case in a Modena court, so I'm sure the guys will get a fair hearing:-)

cheers

Hey, young Lewis no dount has a good car under him, and no doubt a lot of support from within the team...but you cant discount teh guys ability. And you cant hate him, because surprise, surpride the media are idiots. I cringe when i see poor Mark here for the Aus GP, the questions he is asked by the average journo makes me sick. The average motoring journo is no better. I think barck to Gordon Elliott and Hard Copy :D

agreed 100%

i don't know how long you've been saying that for, but i thought that even from his 1st season at renault a strong and reliable car was the key to most of his success :)

no surprise Hamilton is quicker than him.

Renault wil be displaying a new livery for the next race, a throw back to the old days

looks shit hot i have to say, unortunately is for display only, no race use

... its only about 11 billion times better than the farce they run with now, why not run with it

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
